Portugal Wine Bar & Grill

We spent Christmas Eve at the Portugal wine bar. We love this place. Hugo took great care of us and they were super busy.It might be in a strip mall but don't judge it from the outside. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

While visiting the area, we wanted to try a unique spot for dinner. It's located in a strip mall but once you get inside, it's very cute. It has plenty of seating as well as bar seating. They have a fairly large menu to choose from as well as a few specials. They offer a selection of wines as well but we don't drink wine. They bring you bread with very cold butter packages and a little tray of olives. The tray even had a spot to put the olive pits. It would have been nice to have room temp butter for the bread so it's easier to spread. We ordered the little neck clams appetizer, the cod special with asparagus and risotto, and the seafood stew.The little neck clams came in a white wine and garlic sauce. They were pretty good especially if you scooped up some liquid with the meat. The seafood stew had quite a bit of seafood and was a big portion. The rice was very liquid and when you scooped some out on your plate there was a lot of water at the bottom. It would have been better to have capers on top instead of peas. The sea bass special was pretty good but the portion of the fish wasn't very big and there were only a couple pieces of asparagus. The risotto took up the majority of the plate and the meal. It didn't have much flavor and was a bit gummy. Hugo our waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall, we wouldn't be back as the food is on the higher price and it just didn't meet the mark for us. We expected the food to be outstanding for the price and the menu descriptions.

Once again I have to say "Thank you Yelp" The restaurant we wanted to go was closed. We forgot that is Sunday today. Quick search and I saw "Portugal". That's it. Choice was a winner.Ambience is classic. Light music in the background and white table cloths are so welcoming. Service was good and food delicious. Specially, we enjoyed fried little sardines as an appetizer. There were excellent paired with "Mateus" rose wine. Definitely, it is a place to go.

Me and my wife visited for the first time the place is very cozy the ambiance was great the food was delicious we had the Portugal house wine which was delicious, our server was excellent. I woulld definitely return tp PWB&G.

All of the food here is fantastic! The service is fast and happy to answer any questions. They don't offer tap water like you would find in other US restaurants, it's European style, so you pay for each bottle of water for the table, I think it was around $5-6 and it was enough for 4 of us. The restaurant has nice decor and cool decorations, slideshows of photos in Portugal are on the TVs, which is a nice change of pace from the typical sports/ news on in every restaurant.

Not only do I recommend this business I encourage you to go as soon as you can. Our server, George was the best. He was attentive, super friendly and very accommodating. The first time we went for lunch and it was good. We looked at the dinner menu and decided we had to go back soon for dinner. We did and it was amazing. Even though it is in a mini strip mall once you get inside you would never know. Great ambiance!! Hurry to Portugal Wine Bar & grill and don't forget to ask for George.

Absolutely delicious! Really love the interesting, well prepared, and pleasantly served food at Portugal. Tonight we had garlic shrimp over rice and mixed picadinho - both perfect!

Dinner on Tuesday 5/7/2023 Server was Hugo.Nice cozy restaurant in a strip mall, but it works. Server was prompt and brought us water (which you pay for $3, for a large bottle that Luso 1 liter $6 easily covered the 4 of us).Kale soup was excellent!The four entrees we order were:Bitoque$33.008 oz steak cooked to order, garnished with an over-easy fried egg and served with rice & fries.Chicken Piccata$30.00Chicken breast sautéed with capers and white wine in a lemon butter sauce. Served over linguini.Chicken & Shrimp Scaloppini$31.00Sautéed chicken & shrimp with mushrooms & capers sauce, served over linguini.ixed Picadinho / Picadinho Mixto$35.00Cubed pork, shrimp, chicken and Portuguese sausage sautéed in a red wine demi sauce topped with fried cubed potatoes.Dessert:Strawberry Cheesecake $12Tiramisu $12Full bar, nice wine selection and a very basic beer menu.Overall, the food was cooked nicely and as ordered. Everyone was pleased with their food. I really wished yelp had a 1/2 and 1/4 stars because 4 stars is too little but 5 is a very high standard. Definitely recommend and will be back to try more items.

Good food, ambiance and superb service. A little pricey, so more of a special date night for us. We will be back!

I was thinking this was the traditional Portugal/Brazilian food spot but it is not. This is a bit more fancy by price but not by food. The food was not that great but $$$. Atmosphere is nice! I will not be going back but this is just my experience!
