Food was delicious! I loved the Ceviche!! The margaritas were okay. Great service. Live music on Saturday was nice ambiance.

Playa Chac Mool is a great location, a few blocks from St Augustine beach. Ambiance is comfortable, a smaller restaurant with appropriately 20 tables, it's a good idea to come early or likely there is a bit of a wait. Can accommodate parties as large as 10. May have live music on weekends. Service is great. Friendly and attentive with good advice if you are having trouble deciding on a menu option. Staff were able to accommodate our requests for some cook options without any issue. Great selection of beers and mixed drinks. Menu is a little more limited but the focus means dishes are all good- can't go wrong here with any options include make your own combo plates. Portions and prices are fair and a little lacking on the amount of protein served in dishes but flavors are very good and portion sizes were filling combined with the appetizer we ordered. The Chac Mool sauce offered here is unique. Smokey with a bit of heat, it is rich and quite tasty. Also great with chips. A nice dining experience with strong marks across the board for ambience, service and food. Four stars due to the protein portions being on the small side. Definitely worth a try.

Small cozy dining experience! The decor takes you to Mexico. The food is fresh, hot n cooked to authentic Mexican standard. I had the Mar y Tierra with corn tortillas. ¡Absolutamente delicioso!If you can't afford to go to Mexico or southern California for the authentic taste of Mexico, Playa Chac Mool is your local taste of Mexico. Great live music! Outdoor covered patio dining option. One block walking distance to St. Augustine Beach. Kid's menu available. Waiters/waitresses very attentive. Souvenirs available. A definite candidate for best authentic Mexican dining experience in St. Augustine/Jacksonville.

Food was wonderful! Had the beef chimichanga and some home made guacamole & chips.Great service too in a quaint atmosphere. Will be back!!

Stopped in for lunch. I had chicken fajitas. They were good and are served with sour cream and guacamole which many restaurants upcharge for. Husband had the chimichanga which is offered with ground beef or chicken. It was much smaller than any he's had but it was enough for lunch and it also came with sour cream and guacamole. Service was fast and friendly.

The food was great. Had the chimichanga with a tamale. Was delicious and perfect size for the combination. Friends had tacos, enchiladas, etc. very unfussy and straightforward. Salsa was great and plentiful. Loved the chips. Good beer selection too. Highly recommend this local gem.

The food was so delicious. We got the shrimp Diablo and pollo chac mool and both were ADDICTIVE. I will definitely be back!

Very friendly service. Small and quaint ambiance. Live music. As for the food, it was underwhelming at best. Bland. Under seasoned. Neither of us even finished our meals.
