Fried combo platter - round 2. Grouper and shrimp. The shrimp was outstanding!! The grouper was just "good". The trigger was better
Blackened platter round 2: trigger fish and shrimp (can't see the shrimp very well in this photo). Both were amazing!!

First visit, first impressions. After the rebuild, this is more upscale than many fish camp restaurants. Food is good and in large portions. Back deck view and ambiance are inviting. Saw other comments about costs. To me, maybe a little high but not out of family. The prices reflect the location, upgraded dining experiences and reality of recent increase in food and labor prices.Service was timely in spite of a busy late lunch crowd. The car park is a bit tight. Enter with caution. With care, we parked a full size pickup. Will stop in again for another meal soon.

Our party of 6 went here to celebrate my birthday today. We sat outside on the deck. The weather was perfect. It's a nice enough run of the mill seafood restaurant. Three of us at the table ordered their pick 2 meals. Scallops, Shrimp, Groper & Trigger fish all grilled. Unfortunately we could not eat any of it because it was terribly over salted. We told the waitress and in exchange we all took shrimp but that was only one exchange of the pick 2. Another person at our table had the Lump Crab Stew that consisted of mostly potatoes and very little crab which for the price is a rip off and bad business considering how it's worded on the menu. He didn't put a dent in the bowl! The beet salad and the pot stickers were the only good things on the table along with their corn bread that comes with the meal. The starter corn bread is better consumed as a dessert because it's sweet. Oh DO NOT ask for a glass of water because the taste is horrible. With all the money this place is making since opening I would think that they could afford a water filter. Beware because that water may very well be what they are making their ice cubes with.We told our waitress about the disgusting water and salted food yet that the manager never came to our table to apologize. None of us will ever go back. The photo is only my own, I did not photograph my companion's check.

After all these years, Outback Crab Shack is back open! I'm so glad to see it.I'm going to start with the bad. Parking. It's a mess. Fortunately, there is a lot down the street a little that offers spots and shuttle parking (for a small price), but the whole thing is pretty rough. If you have a boat that's probably the best way to go.We sat at the bar because I desperately wanted to try out the swing seat. They are the cutest! Food was really good. It's really just the thing for some waterfront dining. All of the renovations look really nice and I think it will grow into an awesome staple for the area.

Great food great service and very cool place. Highly recommend making reservations, especially on the weekends because they get very busy. They have an outside bar and swings that hang down that are very cool. Great food at a great price.

Pretty good seafood joint. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was all very well seasoned and super fresh. All our appetizers were top notch. I had the pesto gnocchi and it was amazing!! Will be back for sure

First visit to the Outback Crab Shack in Saint Augustine, and I was excited to try it, especially since it recently reopened. The decor definitely sets the mood with gators, fish, and a whole boat hanging from the ceiling over the bar - a fun, rustic Florida vibe.I ordered a virgin Bloody Mary, which came with celery, olives, and spicy green beans, and that was a nice touch. I'm a fan of char-grilled oysters, so I got a half dozen, but they were disappointingly small - barely the size of a thumbnail. Not quite what you'd get in New Orleans. The experience with our server was a bit mixed. Right after we sat down, she told us they were out of crab, jalapeño poppers, clam strips, and a variety of other items. When I asked if they'd had a busy day, she replied that they're out of things pretty much every day.My husband ordered the fried shrimp and really enjoyed it, especially the cornbread casserole with honey at the bottom. I ordered the crab stew, and when it arrived, it turned out to be clam stew with no crab. I'd specifically asked if they had the crab stew, so this was a letdown. Others in our party ordered the beet and goat cheese salad, which they loved.Overall, while I enjoyed the decor, the food fell short of expectations, and the limited menu was frustrating. Would I return? Probably not.

Down and dirty: great outdoor spot on the water but service and food for the price just wasn't worth it. Service:I called to make reservations for my MIL 70th birthday and spoke to a man who "added it to the system". Came day of and they had no record of my reservation. Asked to sit outside and was told they couldn't move tables together because they didn't move well. They moved them as much as they could but it was ridiculous. Our server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu. We asked specific questions about an item we wanted to order and only ordered based on her answer. Once we got our food, what we got was not what we expected based on the answers from our server. Had to get the item fixed and complete order provided. Food:I ordered the fish and chips. Fish was okay but it was served cold. I got the sweet potato fries and they were okay but also cold. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food but also commented it was cold and not worth the price. Parking: if you don't luck out with a spot in the lot, which is limited, you end up paying $15-$20 for someone to taxi you from a lot down the road. Maybe you'll luck out with a spot on the deck with a boat! Atmosphere: renovations done are nice and clean. Outside area is nice. Should have fans to help with high bug and high heat.

Great food. Great menu. Great atmosphere. I've had fresh oysters on the half shell, calamari, lobster bisque, pan seared stuffed grouper, fried flounder, and the steamer boil. Everything is tasty. Live music on the weekends and a beautiful water view from the outdoor deck/bar. I always sit outside. Parking is tricky but I highly recommend a visit.

So excited they are back! The new spot is such an upgrade. 4.5 stars rounding up to 5To start, the portions are very decently sized! Nearly everyone I was with ordered the grilled shrimp platter with cheese grits and raved! I sampled of course and while I am not a fan of grits in general, these seemed good! And the shrimp was great. One person got fried shrimp. Also good, but nothing outside the realm of pretty normal fried shrimp. And corn on the cob - which was just swimming in butter but still somehow not quite buttered. And one person got a piece of grilled mahi that was a little dry. I got coconut crusted shrimp (an appetizer) for my meal which was excellent, and the Thai chili sauce was so good! I also ordered a side of fries. Just ok. For dessert we had beignets and key lime pie. Both super delicious. There was a wait even before they opened so be prepared for that. But they move everything along like a well oiled machine and the staff is all incredible, polite, and there to make sure everyone has a great experience. The decor inside is nice! The tables are packed in a little right, so scooting into a booth was... interesting (even for me as a "fun sized" human lol). Very comfy seating though. The dock is nice to walk along while you wait. I can't wait to go back for cooler weather and maybe sit at the outside bar. I will be back for sure.

Food was great. It was raining the night we went. We had a big group that included small children. After our normal amount of wait time, they came out because no one was leaving the indoor seating and offered to create a space for us outside. It turned out to be great. The bar was super busy, but the woman that was managing that night worked really hard to help people that were waiting that weren't seated at the bar. The 2 men that were the regular bartenders didn't seem to care if you weren't seated in a seat. That is the only negative I have but this review will be 5 star because the overall experience was 5 star. If you are trying to decide between baked or blackened, go with the blackened. Tastes amazing!
