When we walked in the Décor was very nice and it was very clean. We almost immediately got seated and the people who worked there were very nice. Service was excellent and the chef we got for our hibachi was very nice. He also made our food very quick and the food tasted really good for everybody.

Reservation system is crap - we made reservations for a birthday lunch. Received confirmation that it was approved. Drove there on the big day, sat in the parking lot waiting for the restaurant to open at 11:30 (the time of our reservation). Saw some other people walk up to the door at 11:29, they turned around and walked away so we figured there was a problem. Sure enough, drove to the door to find a sign saying they were closed until 4:30 today. Super disappointed - why confirm a reservation if you're closed? Ruined my birthday

This is our favorite hibachi spot in Jax. The food is always great, some of the cooks do a whole show and some only do a couple of tricks not sure why but not everyone does the whole thing. Over all the hibachi good is good and would definitely recommend it

I came in to Otaki this past Friday night for my birthday dinner. While walk-ins are encouraged, I called and made a reservation. When I arrived I was seated early as there was not many people there.The overall ambiance is sort of chill. They have a little running water pond the restaurant that gives off a delightful relaxed feel. But the true ambiance comes from where you sit. There are several grills throughout the restaurant. If you come with a big group then the ambiance will be what the group gives off. We sat with another two couples who were quiet, so we mostly kept to ourselves.The service was the biggest issue. While the server was mostly good she miscommunicated their happy hour specials to me which leg to me being over charged. My recommendation is to have a happy hour print out to include in menus. Take the guess work out of ordering. The chef at the grill was amazing! He was quick, funny, kind, and good at his job.The food was top notch. The soup was tasty. My daughter drank it up like water, which was fun to see. We preferred a side of gyoza that was tasty as well. I don't think it is too necessary though since you get a lot of food in a hibachi grill order. The grilled veggies were good but the true show stealer among sides was the fried rice. It was stupendous. I ordered steak and lobster tail. They were both ridiculously good. The lobster tail has a good amount of butter and the steak was cooked to perfection.Almost a perfect night of dining with that one issue with my bill being the only sour note. I chose not to take off a star for it, but watch out for that issue.

Otaki feels like a more upscale hibachi experience. The filet mignon and scallops I ordered were absolutely delicious, and their sushi rolls are beautifully presented and fresh. The atmosphere is classy but still welcoming, making it perfect for a date night or special occasion. The service was attentive and made the experience even better.

Been a long time since I've been to Otaki. This was a company sponsored lunch. The menu for lunch is great with all types of selections. Especially if you want a combination of seafood and beef or chicken. Decided on the steak and scallops. Ice tea to drink. Started off with clear soup and very good very hot. Then with a ginger salad to go along with it. The steak and scallops were cooked just right. Included are the veggies and fried rice. Half the fun of otaki is watching the chef do his magic. Bantering with the customers and still making sure everyone gets what they ordered and how they want it. Dinner and a show! Great date night or date lunch. I'll be back. Worth it.

Came here for lunch on a weekday this was my second time here and the first we sat at the big hibachi tables but this time we chose to sit at a table (which I prefer because it's faster and quieter). The waiters were fast and efficient. I ordered the sushi lunch which comes with clear soup and a salad (I got the ginger dressing and it was delicious!) and I also got the tuna roll and the cucumber roll. Both were tasty and fresh. The tuna was really good. I would definitely come back.

A bunch of us went here for lunch and had really good service. I believe there was 19 of us and the 2 waitresses did an outstanding job getting everyone's drink orders and food orders done correctly. They were quick with the drinks and side dishes. Both chefs did a good job but not as entertaining as they'd probably be for dinner. Our chef went through the motions. But the hibachi food was good, lunch portions looked to be same as dinner portion, lot's of food. You won't leave here hungry. The place is nice but could use a refresh. I would definitely go back when in the mood for Japanese hibachi!

Early dinner for us, we arrived at about 545p on a weekday and were seated immediately. Our server, Jay, took our drink orders while we took a look at the menus. We ordered sushi & 4 hibachi entrees. They were large servings. I barely finished my chicken hibachi entree, because I was full from Sushi (both rolls were tasty!) We all really enjoyed our dinner and will be back soon! Thanks for the great meal, service & atmosphere, Otaki!Side note: the parking lot gets crowded. Especially during the day.
