Hole in the wall, family owned and operated, and worth going out of the way for. The owner cares, came over when our server was busy, and made recommendations. Food was delicious. We got the Caesar which is made tableside. The guy who made it really took care and pride in his work. He took his time and did it right. Have you ever heard Anthony Bourdain talk about the guy you want making the risotto? You want the guy who no matter how many times you yell at him in a busy kitchen that you need the risotto, he doesn't give in. He doesn't rush it, because risotto can't be rushed. He's going to do it right and slowly because it's better that way. And there's just no other way to do it. This was that guy. No one was yelling at him, but he was intense in his focus on the details. So, yes, I'd recommend the Caesar The stuffed tortellini app Gorgonzola was to die for. The ravioli entree was also fantastic. We couldn't do the pasta made in the cheese wheel - you need to call ahead for that. We live in Ohio but next time we're in the neighborhood we're definitely calling ahead for that cheese wheel and the rest of the experience. You won't be disappointed.

Delightful and delicious. Amidst the sea of mundane fry it up chain crappy restaurants, tucked in a small strip is this gem. Northern Italian cuisine and its truly innovative ingredients beautifully presented with excellent service

We had a very enjoyable early Valentine's dinner at Osteria Rustica. The Osteria does 3 seatings, we chose the earliest at 5pm. The restaurant has around 8 tables, closely arranged in the storefront space. The walls are covered in photos of Venice. The tables are cleverly designed to have a full-height eating area with lower side pieces that can hold common items like bread or wine. The menus are printed daily so the specials are all there. I liked that. The staff were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Service was impeccable except for one oops when tap water was poured into my Pellegrino. The owner/chef described the appetizers to us. I could tell he wanted us to get the tricolore gnolchetti so we did. All three were good, and we brought some home. It was hard to stop eating it but I wanted to have room for the later course(s). There was pesto, classic Alfredo, and a tomato sauce, comprising the colors of the Italian flag. The complimentary bread was focaccia (simple bread), but made up for its simplicity by being nicely seasoned with a bit of a kick. Butter was served as well, no pretentious olive oil and balsamic here.I wanted to try the Caesar table side, but it wasn't offered to us and it isn't on the menu. I did notice that the tables who got it were all 4 tops so perhaps it doesn't work for them to take up all that room just to make 2 salads. Around 5:25pm a woman came in asking for a table for 2 with no reservation and was turned away. They mean it when they say reservations are required. I liked that too. For our mains, I got the Veal Scallopine with Gorgonzola sauce and my husband got the signature Osso Bucco, pork. The veal was very tender and the Gorgonzola was not overwhelming nor too rich. It came with vegetables of the day and linguini. I was a little worried because the vegetables were "of the day" and the menu had just been printed but they were fresh zucchini, carrot and onion strings, well seasoned and flavored with butter or oil. The Osso Bucco was amazing. Served with saffron risotto and a red sauce, it was falling off the bone tender. The combination of the saffron in the risotto and the red sauce on the meat was nothing short of magical. It went really well with the Sangiovese my hubby had selected too. Slow and steady, he cleaned the plate. And I took the bones home for stock. We also took home the rest of my veal and noodles. At that point, we were finishing our $70 wine and were too full for dessert. The Tiramisu did sound good. There was also a Lemoncello cake. All in all, with a generous tip our bill was $230. For this level of food that is a great value. The wine, I liked it. I found it online at two places for $14 so that is quite a markup. I wonder if we can bring our own?For a place in a store front to have the paper tablecloths and napkins this far after Covid, that also took away from the fine dining experience. For all these factors, I wound up with 4 stars. We had a very enjoyable evening.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and had a fantastic dinner. The ambiance is simple but elegant with white tablecloths and plenty of room between tables. It's a very small restaurant with only about 8 tables so you need to make reservations well in advance. The service is impeccable. Attentive without being intrusive and the timing of everything is spot on. now onto the food. We started with the Caesar salad which they make from scratch at your table. Very tasty and obviously fresh. My husband had Sole Modo Mio, I think it was called. It was sole with a lemony caper sauce with artichoke hearts and it was fantastic. I had the Scaloppa Valtellina (veal scallopini) which is with a Gorgonzola cream sauce with mushrooms and it was delicious. The Gorgonzola was very light tasting and did not overpower the tender veal. Both dishes came with fresh fettuccini and vegetable medley. For dessert my husband had the Lemoncello cake which was so light annd good and I had the "Nonna" cake which was with a lemon filling and some nuts on top and was served warm. It was to die for. Loved our anniversary dinner and we will be going back again soon. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service.

Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. All 3 appetizers were over priced and not good! Who puts blueberry sauce on gnocchi? It did not go together at all The charcuterie was minimal with ham instead of prosciutto! It had about 4 tiny slices of roasted red peppers from a jar and no tomatoes. I guess they thought the lettuce underneath made up for that. The last one was pasta purses stuffed with pear...again a stretch at best. The meals were small portions.... You can't even put a decent serving of pasta on a plate? The meat was fine. I think they tried too hard to look pretty rather than serve a good meal. Half the group left still hungry....and it was not inexpensive! Sorry to say this I just don't like to feel like we didn't get our money's worth.

We have gone here for our special occasions for 5 years straight and have yet to be disappointed. It is a small mom an pop genuine Italian restaurant that has limited seating every evening. (Reservations reccommended). The food is made from scratch by owner in the kitchen and the staff is so sweet and have been there for years also! He gladly will make suggestions or accommodations as needed but the menu changes throughout the year to include seasonal fish, meats, vegetables and fruits. It is definitely great for those who love to explore new options..his creations are unique and delicious. The flavor combinations are not quite like anything else in the area! So glad we found this gem!
