Okinawa Japanese Grill House & Sushi Bar

Under new ownership this place still serves cabbage on the Hibachi, which is one of my favorite vegetables sautéed and I am glad they didn't get rid of it. However the last few times we've been here they are STINGY about how much they will give you. New owners didn't do much to this place and ventilation is still terrible. Aside from the above. One of the chef was entertaining - He cooked for other tables. Our chef had to be the manager or lead, because other tables were getting their food cooked and those parties were sat after us. There weren't many cooks in general and our cook was doused in cologne. He was also quite dull so I guess some things never change. Our sever was new and we could tell. He was all over the place and kept getting our orders wrong. Probably also explains why it took an hour for someone to start cooking. The edamame was NOT fresh and the sushi was terrible. At least the Hibachi was good and beers are somewhat cheap. Mixed drinks are still terrible. I keep coming back because of other people's birthdays. I'll probably keep complaining about the same things :-|

It really need some updating and tender care. There was two of us and my order was wrong and my friend had to wait and find staff to correct her change to her order.

The first impression was the ambiance and vibe. The service wasn't the best but wasn't so bad too. It didn't bother me because i came for my late dinner and wanted some sushi from a new place. Miso soup & clear soup is a big no. Tofu wasn't fresh as seaweed was too. Even the house salad with ginger dressing looking oddly redder than usual and tasted a bit like the remnants of kimchi sauce with cucumber. It was not pleasurable at all, the Gyoza wasn't steamed as it was supposed to be, it was just lukewarm with the pork tasting absolutely disgusting, but the sauce it came with was excellent- helped the flavor and my taste buds at least enjoy. We however enjoyed the Halloween drinks special - they had some good simple drinks that's themed and it was nice to drink along the wait.. Unfortunately.... Safe to say that the reviews weren't wrong, so we decided to cancel the orders and leave with bad stomach aches

Excellent service and generally good food. Not perfect but very good. Some newer chefs were still getting used to it

Food was okay. The stuffed mushrooms were excellent. The shrimp fried rice could've used a little more flavor. The server was friendly.

So this was my second time visiting this restaurant. The first time the food was so over seasoned I felt like my blood pressure was rising. But I was like you know what sometimes the cooks get heavy handed so I won't count them out. This time, less salt but still overly seasoned. The sushi was not good, I threw away when I got home and my original drink was a Mai Tai but I sent back b/c it didn't taste like one so I got the tequila sunrise which was okay, I've had better. This was my last time trying but for sake it might just be right.

There are few dining experiences which compare to a good Japanese hibachi. We went here for lunch and normally the lunch experience is toned down from the dinner show. Our chef was still very entertaining and personable. The vegetables were a little under seasoned but that is literally the only thing that kept this from being a five star. The fried rice was flawless, the steak cooked to perfection and the shrimp (which can be tricky on a flat top while doing a lot of other things) was tender and prepared with expertise. Good food, good company, and a good show, that's the recipe for a fantastic time. Lunch prices were very reasonable and all of us took some food to go.

The food was good. However, the restroom would cause you to lose your appetite. Dirty!

Please save your time and your money!!! Food (Steak) was SPOILED. I called and spoke with staff about the bad steak and it fell on DEATH EARS. Please stay clear of the place unless you desire to visit the local ER.
