The dogs that I seen here are very sociable. The owners are attentive, respectful, and neighborly. There is a great deal of shading from the trees even on hot days. This allows the dogs to play a little longer than normal. There is a concrete sidewalk that goes across the dog park. The small dog park has one water fountain and a bench. It shares a fence with the big dog park and they can tend to run the fence line when things get going. The big dog park is mostly made up of sand and trees. There are 3 benches and 2 water fountains. The fountains are purely for the dogs as the human portion is non-functioning. One of the fountains continuously runs and has made a bit of a mess. At 1 end of the park, the dogs love to roam through it on a hot day and roll in the slop to cool down Bring a towel.

As far as a park goes, I would have to give this place three stars. It has a senior citizen attached to it, as well as a swimming pool. There is also a small Lake and a few sport fields. Honestly, it seems like there is more parking lot than actual park. All in all, I would say that there are probably better options in the area.

The last few times weve been there there is a strong evidence of people living on the grounds full time. Unfortunately there were two piles if human feces on the dock, clothing left in neat stacks on the same dock. And my grandson can NEVER catch anything from the pond. Disappointing on every aspect.

I enjoy this park because of it's location. It is double gated on both sides and also has a small dog area that is separated and also double gated. It has dog watering stations at each entrance as well as dog cleanup stations with bags and trash cans so owners can clean up after their dogs. It is nicely shaded with lots of trees and a walking path that is wide and made of concrete with benches along the way. Park is not huge but has enough room for dogs to run and explore. Of course as with other dog parks you have to worry about other aggressive or dominant dogs, bad owners, people not cleaning up, etc. I always worry about my dog catching a disease or something from other unvaccinated dogs. I do wish the park had lights at least along the pathway because it gets dark so early. Only light comes from the basketball court that backs up to the side. The park is included with the larger park that has basketball courts, tennis courts, large pond, etc. It's a nice area.

Great little dog park to allow the free spirits roam. I like the water bowls provided for the dogs. The only thing that would make it better is a wading pool.

I love the series of Mad Max movies, so of course I love this park. I take my kids here to teach them about nature and socialism. The nature trail is the bomb, especially if that bomb was placed next to a dumpster. The broken glass is a great way to test out the quality of your hiking boots. The pond the best place in Jax to see turtles as well as abandoned shopping carts. It is as if the Jacksonville hired the team from Parks and Rec (minus Leslie Knope) to run this place. The dog park is nice and my kids love the covered playground. If king for a day, I would prioritize free outdoor activities in this time of pandemic. Please clean up this park.

We just moved to Jacksonville from San Diego and needed a dog park. I'm impressed and happy we found this park! *LARGE* DOG PARK: Seemed small upon pulling up, but it's nice and big! lack of grass isn't an issue for us, as we are used to not having grass at dog parks (plus poop gets suck in grass, yuck!). Not sure why the previous review says no upkeep? The park doesn't have grass but it's clean! The dog park has benches, dog poop bag stations, dog water fountains, and a paved trail from beginning (parking lot) to end (small dog park entry). It's nice and shaded with trees. Dogs were friendly and owners were attentive and responsible, which was very nice. Can't speak for the small dog park as my dog is 50 lbs haha. We walked around to the tennis court area, courts and nets seem really well kept. The rest of the area by the tennis courts and baseball field was also well kept and free of litter.

It's one of the dated parks. The kids play area is shaded and nice. It has a pool next to it, A senior center, tennis courts, basket ball courts and from the reviews a dog park as well. It could use some TLC with a few things and a little community care picking up trash but, other than that it seems like a nice quiet place to bring the family.

Best park on the Northside of Jacksonville!Since the Pokemon craze started, we're at this park every night. There's a Pokemon Gym here and 6 Pokestops. You'll also always find Magicarps around the water. They have a great public pool, a senior center, a playground for the kiddos, two tennis courts, a baseball field, basketball courts, a small dog play area, a large dog play area, and a lake where you can fish with a nice walking path around it. Most nights, they keep the lights on pretty late for the basketball courts and the tennis courts. When my girls were young, I would bring there here all the time to play on the playground or I'd take them to the pool. Now, it's all about the Pokemon for us (hehe).
