Depends on what you're looking for...The Pros: A quick walk to the beach; nice heated pool with hammocks and chairs; nice breakfast selection. The Cons:Housekeeping ONLY comes if requested (as in, no fresh towels, trash not taken out); have to pay $19 per day to park in their very ample parking lot even if you're staying there; hot tub area has MUCH to be desired. All in All:You get what you pay for, and this is the cheapest hotel on the booking and hotel dot com apps. The room itself was clean, a/c worked fine, but bathroom is TINY!! Room had a fridge and microwave, both clean. The stopper in the sink would not come up, so we had to wash our hands and brush our teeth using the bathtub faucet. Two of the lamps did not have light bulbs.

Nice and open with two free pool tables! This renamed hotel has a nice inside/outside bar area called, Coastal Beach Bar. This is where we went. It was a Sat night snd they had advertised karaoke so we were "why not". There were only about 5/6 couples sitting around the large bar area. They had a corner where the DJ set up. The music was loud and beating; couple people got up and sang. Bartender sang too...mostly country was the flavor there. We played few games of pool, had a drink and then left.

I read the reviews and I was really hesitant about staying here, but I had already made the reservation. I got in early and they let me check in and they didn't charge me which was really nice. They even changed my room from upstairs to downstairs because I told them that I was traveling and my suitcases are so heavy. That was really nice. I got to the room and I didn't really understand what people were talking about, it wasn't the Ritz, but it wasn't bad. It was just a regular hotel room. Granted, I paid $150 and it certainly wasn't worth that, but the location was excellent and the room was clean. The pillows are terrible, the bed is kind of hard, but I slept OK. My room was kind of large, I didn't think it was small at all, but of course there was only me. If there had been another person or two of course the room would shrink. All in all, I didn't think it was terrible at all, but you are definitely paying for location.

The room was clean. Spacious and in a great location off Fernandina Beach. The customer service was great and the virtual check-in and check-out process was very convenient. I only have a few complaints:-The front wall is thin so it was easy to hear people talking outside all night. -the toilet was loud after flushing and took a while to fill back up to stop making the loud refill noise.

Eh. They had a decent start I suppose I'll give them that. But somehow house keeping missed our room? How does that even happen?? We had to go grab towels, and we have to wait for someone to (hopefully) come by and give us soap. So far I've found two small dead bugs, honestly don't know how to feel about that.

I had a bad experience with the front desk. She was rude. I decided to go some where else. I found a better place with respect. I will never come to this location.

You get what you pay for... we stayed here for two nights while on our way up north. Rooms we're disgusting, room floors were filthy, shower tub dirty black from body grease, wife found corn flakes between sheets, and we killed 5 roaches in two nights and sink wouldn't drain. Only one ice machine works on the entire property.Spend a little extra cash and find a more reputable hotel.

Avoid this hotel like the plague!!!!When getting to our room we noticed the mold (LOOK AT THOSE PICTURES!) , and the resolution was to move us to a less ideal location room and the mold was just as disgusting. Without an option for another hotel, we bought cleaner and cleaned the entire place to make it habitable for our short stay. This hotel was renovated from being a Days Inn, but the maintenance and housekeeping is a massive issue. They absolutely should have refunded our stay, and did not!!!! Absolutely unacceptable.

How they can even call themselves a 2 star is beyond me. Where to start? 10 bucks a night to park my car in an almost completely empty parking lot? That's like ordering a dinner but I gotta pay 10 bucks if I want a plate. "But we don't have a resort fee anymore ", she said. It's not a resort that's why. The floor in the room was filthy and we had to ask for towels and wash cloths, which seemed to upset the front desk. The 'full breakfast' was, well, not. Cereal, make your own waffle (I'd stay home if I wanted to cook), and bagels. The 'no habla Ingles'staff was super helpful though when I asked for towels (thank you Google translate). There's an ice bucket in the room, but not even a little instant coffee pot. but there is a fridge, microwave, and one barking dog nearby. I'll stay home next time.

I was not able to keep my reservation and on the advice of booking.com sent an email asking the hotel to allow my cancellation. My daughter's luggage was lost for 4 days but ended up at JIA. However we had to stay at my home to wait for the luggage to be delivered so we could not keep our reservation. Seems neither Ocean Coast Hotel nor booking.Com cared and so I was charged for a room and did not stay. Guess they profited well, most likely rented the room to another customer. Thanks for nothing Ocean Coast and booking.com
