A rural agricultural fair with rides, animals, food, show performances....what's else is there. It is 25 miles west of Fernandina Beach. It feels like fairs use to be...we ate corn dogs, I got fried fish (4 pieces), shrimp (8/9 big ones) and more fries then we cared to eat for $15, it was good and had plenty to share with hubby who got an Italian sausage with onions/peppers $5, banana pudding...he loved! They had your traditional fair rides with one I hadn't seen before an army helicopter ride! Maybe a recruitment tool? There were games of chance to win stuffed animals, etc. The animals all looked good and healthy; the young folk who entered them all were proud of their animals..nice fair.

Going to the Fair on the last day be prepared to see the last of the BIG fun, meaning all of the baby animals will be gone and so will all of the big crowds, but if you like fried foods and short ride lines then the last day is the day for you.I am a bit surprised that no one has put this Fair on the Yelp map before me. It's a pretty big Fair, it has lots of parking, the rides look brand new and quite frankly as safe as they can possibly be. Fairs are my "let's eat everything possibly fried in one day event"....did I just quote myself?...yes I did. If its possibly fried or on a stick to eat you can get it at the Fair. Nothing really tastes like funnel cake cake at the Fair! There were alot of vendors selling all kind sorts of items from jewelry to candles, knives, taxidermy services and let's not forget the political folks trying to get your vote. I was also able to taste some amazing honey from Hoot Owl Honey Bee Company. They had honey from the different types of their flowers and bee helpers. I love a good raw honey and this is some of the best I have ever tried. I am including a picture of their business card in my pictures if you love honey and would be interested in purchasing from them. The wildflower was a light honey more like the honey bear honey and then they had this amazing Tupelo honey which was dark and rich. I purchased both because they were both so good but so different. Last day of the fair entrance is free but like I said you do miss out on the animals and the smells of the animals, but you can enjoy all of the other fun without the crowds.Lots of Port-o-pottys so if you have to go....no lines.
