If it's Monday and you like crab legs, come here!We stopped in unknowing of the special on Mondays. Aside from kids eat free and a military discount, they have $12 crab legs. They do require that you order an appetizer, but then you can get as many pounds of crab legs as you want, for $12/lb. Our waitress was super attentive and checked on us numerous times throughout our meal. Being a Monday and the special, there were a good number of kids at the restaurant.

The picked the New Berlin for dinner on our only night in Jacksonville because it was close to our hotel had great reviews online. Plus, we both really wanted seafood. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The restaurant was well lit, with fun decor and a bar. When we arrived, it looked like they had a busy night, and several parties had left recently as there were several tables that still held used dishes. But less than 1/2 the tables in the entire restaurant had customers at the time of our arrival, and only 2 people were seated at the bar, out of approximately 10 seats. There were multiple employees working in the restaurant, and I quietly mentioned to my dinner companion that there seemed to be a lot of employees working hard to avoid eye contact with us (as in everyone.) It was quite awhile before the couple who walked in a few minutes behind us were greeted by a server (we were not.) The couple graciously informed the server that we had arrived first, and both parties were seated. We waited another considerable amount of time before our table server greeted us, and took our drink order. (The couple who walked in behind us already had an appetizer before we even had our drinks.) My companion ordered the oysters for an appetizer and they arrived a short time later. They were presented on a bed of ice, on the half shell and looked delicious. Unfortunately, they had not been rinsed well, and all had a considerable amount of broken shell and sand in the flesh, so she only ate a few. I ordered the crab legs which were delicious! However, my knife and fork were both quite dirty, and I had trouble getting the attention of our server, so I went up to the hostess station and selected replacements myself. Thankfully, the silverware was wrapped in a napkin, so I got an extra napkin to help clean my hands while eating. My crab legs came with a cracker, but no crab fork, which made it difficult to get the meat out of the shells. My companion ordered the lobster po'boy which was heaping with lobster meat and perfectly seasoned. The server kindly removed the oysters from the bill, which was appreciated. The food was very good, and while our server was polite, overall, the service and the whole experience was quite disappointing.

First time eating here and it was delicious. Service was excellent food was great and ambiance was relaxing. My wife had the calamari appetizer and shrimp and grits for dinner. Myself, I had the deviled bacon oysters appetizer with the stuffed grouper for dinner. All were delicious. I would have given 5 stars, but my food came out wrong the first time, so I had to send it back and watch my wife eat while I waited for the correct food.

I hate to report it but New Berlin has gone way down hill over the past year, it use to be so go there and food was fresh and quality. Today I ordered food to go and I ordered the pick 3 seafood dinner with 2 sides for $27.99 and when I got him I was surprised with small portions, I got 6 shrimp, 6 oysters and 1 tiny piece of fish, and my sides were smaller containers a little over half filled. Even though it was lunchtime I ordered the dinner size and paid for it! Also the oysters were coated in a heavy batter that was spicy hot! I only ate 1 due to the cayenne pepper seasoning. The shrimp were good and sides were good, but not worth the price! Sadly I won't be back and no longer recommend this establishment.

On a Thursday evening, I celebrated my birthday month with Larry and John at a highly-regarded restaurant. The Special of the day was lobsters, which we all relished with great pleasure. John treated us to a lavish dinner as we were the birthday celebrants. This was my first time savoring a full-size lobster, and I must say that the experience was exceptional. The restaurant was well-organized, with spotless tables and a welcoming ambiance. The staff was courteous and professional. However, they ran out of french fries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes that day, so we opted for mac & cheese, collard greens, and grits instead. These dishes were delectable and satisfying. Overall, the experience was sublime, and I look forward to trying other menu items in the future.

Great little seafood place. Had the blackened grouper basket with pimiento cheese grits. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent as well. Just a heads up, though, the place is small. I don't know what an average dinner crowd looks like but I can imagine it gets packed. I was there for lunch and sat down to a booth with no problem. I'd go back if I'm ever in the area again - lots of tempting items on the menu made it hard to decide, but I was happy with I ordered.

I have been wanting to try new Berlin for a while. I was working on the Northside of town and it was way past lunch so perfect timing.My arrival was midafternoon and it was slow. The bar had 1 patron and a few tables occupied. I bellied up to the bar always my favorite spot!The bartender was very friendly with the woman at the bar and their speaker phone call. It took a bit for her to break away from the drama and get me a beer. Back to the phone call she went.After deciding on an entree again waiting for a break in the drama she took my order.I choose blackened shrimp tacos with a side of pimento cheese grits. Oh my goodness was it ever good. The heat of the blackened shrimp and the cool slaw was a delicious combination! But those pimento cheese grits were so delicious!Mean while the bartender was tending to phone drama and virtually ignored me. Would I have ordered another beer and chilled after a long day at work.. probably but I paid my tab and left.I will remember my delicious meal and the beautiful interior but the service well... we will see..

When I stopped by for lunch, the hostess informed me that they only had one waitress working. I sat down anyway. The service was slow and not perfect but considering that only had one waitress, it was pretty good. Had the fried oysters and it was delicious!
