Many of the attractions were broken or off line. My kids still enjoyed themselves but it was a bit annoying for me as a mom to see. It's not a big enough space to spend the entire day but if you're looking for a morning or afternoon activity this would fit the bill.

Good museum and centrally located near the water/hotel district so I stopped in. Student discount and even better food stamps discount so I went in. I'm always curious what they're teaching nowadays to the community. The energy section was interesting and paradoxical. I don't know where their data is coming from. Mostly I came because they had an animal encounter in the science theater, and it was three bucks for me to get in. Good stop. We should support museums I suppose but not if they're giving wrong information. Just me but I always see an agenda. Science and history are two huge categories and don't really go together. Can't beat three bucks and an animal encounter though.

Great exhibits. We had an amazing family day here. This was the best MOSH experience I've had in years and my kids loved it too.

**DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT go to this planetarium!**Take my word for it. Do not spend your time or money at the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium at Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History, especially if you want to see the planetarium movie. I've been to several planetariums across the country, and they often offer an amazing experience with incredible visuals. Unfortunately, this one does not.First, to see the planetarium movie, you are required to buy admission to the museum as well, making the total cost about $25 per person. For my wife and me, that's $50 just to see a film! This is far beyond the cost of seeing a Hollywood blockbuster in IMAX at the Epic Theatres, which is about $30 for both of us.The first time I went, I called ahead to ensure the film would be suitable for adults. Despite being assured it would be, we arrived to find it was a poorly animated cartoon for kids. It was so bad that I should have learned my lesson, but I returned because my wife wanted to check it out. Again, I called ahead and was assured the film would be great. This time, the film, "Nights over Jacksonville," was even worse. The graphics were cheap and looked like they were made in 1993. It was so boring that I started to fall asleep. We got up and left during the movie and demanded a refund. The supervisor pointed out a piece of paper stating that refunds are not given for any movies, clearly indicating this is a frequent issue. Despite my complaints, the supervisor refused to budge.Take this review as a warning: do not spend your money here. If you don't heed my warning and go anyway, just think of this review while you sit there, realizing how much money you wasted!

This was my second time at the Museum of Science and History. My first time was several years ago at a Yelp event, which was a much different experience.I wondered through each section. My favorite was the reptile exhibit. I saw a large and small owl, two of my favorite majestic birds. I also saw a couple of snakes and several turtles. I also enjoyed the exhibit that included a few replica space suits. There was a very cute under the sea exhibit with a submarine. I also liked the large shell! This is a great place to take children as there were lots of interactive learning activities.

This poor guy kept swimming against the glass. I felt sorry for him being in such a small tank by himself. The birds they have are also a sad sight for the eyes. my heart breaks for them. It's 2024, time to care about animal's wellbeing more than our entertainment.

We enjoyed our time at MOSH. The Voyage to the Deep exhibit was especially enticing to the children and adults in our group since it was completely interactive and every corner of the submarine had something different to experience. I'm curious to go back and read in the historical Jacksonville exhibit. Also enjoyed seeing the owls in the animal section. The boys loved the snakes and turtles. I think the museum could have more interactive employees. The couple of employees that I saw were sitting on their phones in a room with many visitors and didn't acknowledge any of the visitors for the whole 15 minutes or so that we were in that room. Hope to see the planetarium in the future. That seems interesting!

Looking for a place where the kids can press buttons that aren't yours? Look no further than Jacksonville's Museum of Science & History located downtown. Locally known as MOSH, the museum offers interactive exhibits, educational experiences, and a history of Jacksonville that is truly suitable for all ages.

I had been looking forward to taking my granddaughters to MOSH for a long time. Parking was available, and we got the tickets ahead of time on line. Be aware that it's about $6.00 extra per person for the planetarium. We had to skip that. I was surprised, but hadn't been there since 1998! Things change. My granddaughters enjoyed looking at the dinosaur skeletons, and the turtle exhibit was interesting to them . However most everything else was not. The JEA electric presentation was not working at all displays, and a drawing center was out of paper... They are preteens so they weren't allowed to climb the big tree display. You have to be 5 and under. That looked super fun if you were a little kid. I think a younger child who is way into dinosaurs would love this place. Bring hand sanitizer or wipes. A lot of touching of displays there.

This place is a bit dull. They have some motion dinosaurs, turtles and plenty to read. For adults it may be an ok visit due to all the reading yiu can accomplish. For kids, I can't imaging it being dun for more then an hour or two.We did get the membership on hopes the other ASTC centers offered a better experience. That and the fact that 1 visit ran over $50 for 3 of us.The 2 cool exhibits for kids was a coloring station that could scan and add the dinosaur to a TV screen. The second being a projector sand box that could detect and react to elevation changes by adjusting the projection image. We did try the planetarium. $18ish for 3 but 1 show daily included in the membership. We saw the laser light show. It was a little loud. It was an ok show. I do not recommend a visit here ans think your money will go further at other venues. I do not recommend this place.
