What a lovely museum in downtown Jacksonville. Sitting right next to the Main Library, with lots of street parking and the garage, it's a must do stop. They change the exhibits frequently. They also have art classes for students and kids. Two floors of amazing art, you'll always find something you're drawn to, something that makes you think, and some you need time to figure out!

This was my first time at the MOCA. We were doing our teacher orientation/staff get together for day one and I am glad they chose such a beautiful and educational place to meet. From the moment I walked in the artistic vibe was emanating. MOCA is in downtown Jacksonville, right next to the library. When you enter the huge lobby takes your breath away with its large ceilings and rows of stairs. There is also a small coffee shop called Setlans. I believe there was around 5 floors of featured art galleries. Even the hallways had murals painted when you transitioned. I was happy to experience a special exhibit called "Voices of Moncrief" featuring locals and their story. It was created by a special UNF senior who gets to showcase their materials for one full semester. I will also mention that there were plenty of restrooms, mention of summer kids programs and much more. I don't know how much it costs to get in, but it is a beautiful little place to come, relax, and learn.

First time coming and I enjoyed myself. The interactive light wall was a cool feature. Those stairs to the top gave me a little run but I made it lol.

I loved each exhibit. The pictures I've added will spoke to me. The boldness and imagery was thought provoking! The space itself was nice clean and the atmosphere was regal and relaxed. I definitely enjoyed it !

A small art museum located in downtown Jacksonville. For $10 you get 3 floors of exhibits. Some interesting pieces of contemporary artworks. It took about 40 minutes to go view everything. Parking is outside, but it's paid parking $2 per hour. Overall a decent museum to check out!

Big up to Vystar for hosting a free event at Moca! Moca was a disappointment. Aside from the pumpkin spice coffee I brought and some of the interestimg painting I saw. Moca is just uneventful and would be a waste of time for non artist and creative minds alike. There has to be smething the city of Jacksonville and the current executive director can spruce up the place. The art was interesting and the dimennsional sculpture and you ascend the staircase to the second floor was inviting. When I arrived on the second floor a rent a coo told ne no food or drink allow3d on the second and 3rd floor. Enen the people at the front desk wete not engaging. I immediately headed to the Vystar table and was given my latern to wear while perusing the MOCA. The Vystar volunteers told me snap a photo and hashtag vystar at the MOCA to win a $100. I will do just that. Thank you Vystar again for the fee Saturday event and MOCA for the experience. More should be done to attract other artist and events at the MOCA to encourgae participation in art. Art has become a dying breed.

The museum is located in downtown Jacksonville next to the Public Library. The good news is that admission is free on Saturdays, and street parking is also free on the weekends. The building itself is a good space. It has five floors, with exhibits and art on four of those floors. The current exhibits and most of the art was not really my taste. The ground floor exhibit of Frank Stella was my favorite.

I took a "Walk on the Wild Side" today and wow it was fantastic! Norman E Fisher's exhibit ( a once Jacksonville resident) had an eye for the evolution of the art industry in New York! The collection is great walk through history with art from Andy Warhol amongst others. If you have not seen this collection you have until June! Please put it on your list!

It is a small museum in the downtown area with many local contemporary artists' exhibitions. It costs $8 per person. The top floor or the 5th floor is a workshop for students and kids. During our visit, there were many young children attending the workshop, which was very nice. We started from the third floor and walked our way to the first floor. The third floor is currently presenting Bo Barlett, an American realist. The first and second floors are showing permanent collections. The project atrium shows a paper scupture "Yurei" by Hiromi Moneyhun, which is " a call to action on behalf of the ocean." It is nice that the museum displays many local artists' works. There are many cool murals on nearby building walls and sculptures at the park in front of the museum. We found a free parking garage on Church and Laura streets.

The MOCA consists of 3 floors of art, but the highest floor (for the artist in residence) was very small and only took a few minutes to see. When I visited, they had one floor of contemporary art exploring the life and work of John Cage and another floor exploring the theme of topography/cartographies/maps. The entire visit took just less than an hour, so it was a nice quick stop if you are looking for things to do in the heart of downtown. There is a cafe, free wifi, and plenty of seating available. Admission is free on certain days and for certain groups (ex. college students, military) so I would check the website for details. The main floor which has the cafe is free to visit but only has a couple works of art to view.
