A girl from Texas really enjoyed this BBQ. My partner is from Jacksonville and always said that I am going to take you to try our BBQ. Be warned, it's not the same but our sauces can't be beat. This was her first time here as well. Let me tell you something, I thought I was back home eating this! It did not even need any sauce. The brisket and ribs were tender, sausage was phenomenal! The sides were good as well. The banana pudding was the only dessert on the menu so it had to be good. And it was! My favorite BBQ sauce was the mustard one. If we are ever back in Jacksonville, I will definitely come back here.

Another fantastic visit to Mojos. This time in Avondale. Just great food and a truly impressive collection of whiskey. We always get the burnt ends if available. They do these best. Not even close. We also tried the wings this time. Amazing. Slightly smoked flavor and "flashed" in the fryer to give them the perfect amount of crispiness. I had the salad this time with a generous portion of pulled pork and brisket. I ordered without the croutons but I can tell you from experience that the cornbread croutons are next level. Another home run at Mojos. Highly suggest Mojos for a great barbecue experience that's highly upscale from what you'd expect.

I've been here a bunch of times and everything on the menu is amazing, the staff is nice and friendly as well. They have a great bar with all types of drinks. It gives an old western vibe inside. Great restaurant and in a great area.

Went here with my family last night. Most of us got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and house cut fries and we all agreed it was on point. We also got a Rueben and collard greens. The rueben is their brisket prepared Rueben style. We heard that was fantastic. Our waitress was prompt on refills and nice. There was plenty of seating, bar, booth, tables, inside and outside seating. Everything was delicious!!

Cold restaurant to get out of the heat and enjoy some delicious BBQ. This location always makes us happy with a variety of indoor seating options (booths, tables and bar seating), outdoor patio that welcomes pups (great for cooler weather) and fantastic food and service. We started with our favorite burnt ends (best ones we have had) and tried their wings for the first time. The burnt ends are crispy on one side which compliments the perfectly done beef. The wings were great, slightly smoky and then fried, with a delicious blue cheese for dipping (they also offer ranch). Would love a few more pieces of celery, three small pieces was not enough. The Mojo Q salad is great, you can add one or more meats to it, I choose the pulled pork. Extra kudos for the fantastic service and offering of drink to-go cups for my husbands soda and my seltzer (or soda water as it's usually referred to).

I stopped by MOJO no. 4 after a friends birthday dinner. I ordered a draft and an appetizer of burnt ends.We sat at the high top tables behind the bar. Another friend ordered a few shots of some pricey whiskey. I'm not a whiskey fan, but I tried both. One burnt my nose less than the other lol.The beer was cold and refreshing and the burnt ends were tasty. I mixed two of their house sauces, mustard and vinegar, delish!I would like to go back and try a full dinner!

Mojos is my go to for work lunch or casual Friday Dinner. They have a huge whiskey collection as well happy hour beers. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I got the Carolina Pulled pork sandwich with the fries. It paired well with a Yuengling. They have live music during special events like Amplified Avondale on the first Thursday each month. Make sure to order the fried pickles as an appetizer they are addicting.

If you're a fan of good barbecue, then this place is a must visit. I've eaten here several times and it has never disappointed. MOJO no.4 Urban BBQ Whiskey Bar is located on Saint Johns Avenue in the middle of downtown Avondale. There are a multitude of restaurants and shops along here and so parking can be a challenge at times. The inside is open and the long wooden bar off to the right is an inviting and excellent place to sit. There are plenty of tables throughout for those who prefer them. My last visit I sat at the bar where I was promptly waited on by a friendly and helpful employee, "Kat". She explained the daily drink specials and took my order. I ordered my two favorite things off their menu - Burnt Ends and Smoked Wings. The Kansas City Burnt Ends are tender, juicy pieces of beef brisket with a crusty outer edge ($13.00). The Pit Smoked Chicken Wings are smoked then flash fried and are served with celery and ranch or bleu cheese ($13.00). Interestingly, both of these are listed as appetizers. It was only about a 15 minute wait before my order arrived. The Burnt Ends were delicious and the Smoked Wings were excellent - another very satisfying visit. Give them a try!

Mojo's is a local chain of BBQ restaurants. Each is slightly different, but their Avondale location - Mojo #4 - is a step above the rest!I'm sure they use the same techniques & recipes as their other locations, but the food is always better at #4. I thought it was just me, but my family & friends agree as well. The location doesn't hurt either. Avondale is one of my favorite parts of Jax. And their Whiskey Wall is quite impressive! Service is always great as well. The combination of these definitely make Mojo's #4 my go-to bbq spot in Jax.

While the BBQ at MOJO was undeniably delicious - smoky, tender perfection - the inattentive service and disappointing lack of craft beers dragged down the experience. Skip the frustration if you're after a well-rounded night out, but if you're craving good BBQ, this spot might be worth the wait (and potential self-serve drink refills).
