We chose Mikato to celebrate my brother's birthday! We really enjoyed our dinner. We appreciated the ability to call ahead for seating and we're glad we did because it didn't wait at all for our table. We loved our cook and meal, everything was seasoned to perfection.

Always delicious food and great experience. Sometimes takes awhile to get cooking started during Hibachi dining but yummy food is worth it!

My husband got food poisoning from here. We will never be back. He has been so sick for days from this place. Stay far away!

Great service and food! The chef catered to all at the table and made sure everybody's food was cooked just the way they wanted and enjoyed it. So much food we have enough for the next two meals.

Enjoyed celebrating our son's 16th birthday with friends and family. Mikato's has been a staple in St. Augustine and in my family for many birthdays and celebrations for decades (I celebrated bdays here as a kid). The food is always great! The staff are always friendly! The chefs are personable and fun (and funny). Always a fabulous time!

Long wait and no real reservations taken. We called at 4pm and made a 7pm "check in". When we got there at 655p they told us there would be a 25min wait and that they do not do reservations. There is a sign on their check in table saying they are understaffed and to expect a longer wait for service. Our waitress was very attentive and we didn't notice a long wait to order. The wait was acceptable for a Saturday night. Especially since the place was packed. Our cook was pretty funny but didn't do very many of the theatrics that Japanese Steak houses are known for. The meal was prepared well but lacked a good sized portion of veggies. We had a massive portion of rice and twice during our meal prep he had to have someone run back to the kitchen to get missing ingredients from his cart. The food was good but for the higher price tag I felt like the meal was sub par. I'm guessing the elevated costs in comparison to other Japanese steak houses is due to the locale near a tourist destination.

Food under seasoned and overcooked. Excessive fats, oils, butters used in the rice and meal had us running to the restroom before the end of the meal.

The sushi was super fresh and tasty. Really good quality! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Hope to come to this area and restaurant again!
