Mermaid Bar

Great little bar located in a B&B (we think?). Very limited seating so get there early. Super friendly service, great unique cocktails and cool mermaid ambiance. Enjoyed a delicious martini and and some other cocktails during happy hour. Warning- don't come hungry because they don't even have bar snacks...because of this, we only had a couple of drinks but really enjoyed the comfortable, low-key, friendly ambiance during the time we were there. Good place to enjoy a drink and make a friend or two.

Came in for a night cap. Quaint little place with a kick as! Old fashioned!!! Great selection of music too!!!!

Cute air conditioned bar in the heart of downtown Fernadina Beach. Bartenders are attentive and know their drinks. Best French 75 I've ever had!!!

I really liked this place. So much I went back. Paul, the main bartender, is a cocktail phenom. He takes pride in his work and has a talent for making delicious custom drinks. He's also humble enough to ask if any cocktail needs a little bit more sugar or something else. The Lemongrass Moon was refreshing, the Habanero Welcome was perfectly balanced with heat and sweet. Every drink always get a full pour of alcohol -- no skimping here. Everything in the place speaks Mermaid -- statues, mirrors, wall art and that is pretty cool. It is also located inside the Florida Inn, which I think is the oldest hotel in Florida. Also pretty darn cool. But like all bars, the bartender makes the place. After dinner we went back, and unfortunately, Paul had departed. A woman bartender was behind the bar. She made us a perfect Old Fashioned-- except for one thing. She filled the glasses with crushed ice. I asked what about serving the drink with a large slow melting cube. Answer: they are in the freezer out back and it's too hard to go and get them right now. Well its my drink and I want it made correctly. Recommend the owners, redesign the bar so the bartenders have what they need in the right place to make the cocktails as they should. Overall still a really cool place.

What a cute place. Meet up with my friends for brunch and had the best seats in the full place..at the bar. The bartender was amazing.She was so attentive and made great Bloody Mary's.. she gave us a menu and informed us of some of their best sellers. This place is in side the Florida House inn. Also inside is Leddys Porch which is the restaurant. Yes it's a huge place but so old Florida chic. The Mermaid bar was comfortable with nice stools and fun Vibes. This is on my return list for fall.

We finally tried out Mermaid Bar in the Florida Inn and it's such a great little chill spot to get excellent drinks! Significant other thought the old fashioned was really good and I loved the savage cocktail, it was excellent! Bartender knew what he was doing and was very nice! We will definitely make this a regular spot for great drinks!

We love this bar. The decor is fabulous! Paul is one of the coolest dudes we've met on the island and he's a stellar bartender. His smoky glasses are legit. Not only are the staff good folks, but they know how to host a party. The Florida House is one of the oldest homes on the island and severely haunted. If you have the courage to stay the night, I would certainly recommend it. (Should you wake in the night with your bed sheet completely removed from the bad and all the furniture drawers pulled out, remember you were warned.) Brunch at Leddy's Porch is one of the best on the island, and adult beverages can be acquired from the Mermaid Bar during brunch despite not being fully open early in the day. During the winter, there's nothing quite like drinking one of Paul's smoky whiskey drinks and warming up by the fireplace. This place feels like home... with lots of mermaids and the occasional merman floating about. Easily 5 stars.

Just discovered this gem over the weekend. We are so glad we did! The bartender Paul is a Veteran and an awesome guy. He makes excellent cocktails and is always experimenting with new drink recipes. His bar back, Ruth, is so genuinely nice and helpful. While the bar is small, it's perfect for date night. Definitely a mature, adult atmosphere. We will absolutely return again and highly recommend you give it a try!

Austin is the best ever. He is a true master behind the bar. 3 days in a row different drinks each night, all amazing.
