We went to Mellow Mushroom for a quick bite before a movie. The place was packed so we opted to sit at the bar. The food was delicious and the server/bartender was great, despite how busy it was. I'll definitely go back and try the pizza again.

Lily had always dreamed of visiting Florida, but she never had the chance until her best friend Mia invited her to spend a week with her in Jacksonville. Lily was thrilled to see Mia after a long time, and to explore the sunny state together.One of the places that Mia wanted to take Lily was Mellow Mushroom Durbin Park, a pizza restaurant that she loved. Mia said that they had the best pizza in town, with creative toppings and flavors, and a cozy atmosphere. Lily was curious to try it out, and agreed to go there for lunch.They arrived at the restaurant, which had a colorful sign and a mushroom-shaped roof. The inside was decorated with psychedelic paintings and funky furniture. Lily felt like she had entered a different world, and smiled at the quirky vibe.They were greeted by a friendly waiter, who showed them to a table near the window. He handed them the menus, and told them about the specials of the day. Lily scanned the menu, and was impressed by the variety of pizzas, salads, burgers, and more. She decided to order the **Mighty Meaty** pizza, which had pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, and bacon. Mia chose the **Holy Shiitake** pizza, which had shiitake, button, and portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, and garlic aioli. They also ordered some **Pretzel Bites** and **Spinach Artichoke Dip** to share.The waiter took their orders, and returned with their drinks. He told them that their food would be ready soon, and left them to chat. Lily and Mia caught up on each other's lives, and reminisced about their old memories. They laughed and hugged, and felt happy to be together again.Their food arrived, and they were amazed by how delicious it looked. The pizzas were hot and cheesy, with generous toppings and a crispy crust. The pretzel bites were soft and salty, and the dip was creamy and tangy. They thanked the waiter, and dug in.Lily took a bite of her pizza, and moaned in delight. It was the best pizza she had ever tasted, with a perfect balance of meaty, cheesy, and spicy flavors. She complimented Mia on her choice of restaurant, and said that she was glad she came. Mia smiled, and agreed that it was a great place. She offered Lily a slice of her pizza, and Lily accepted. She tried the mushroom pizza, and was surprised by how good it was. She loved the combination of earthy, sweet, and savory tastes. She told Mia that her pizza was also amazing, and they exchanged more slices.They enjoyed their food, and chatted some more. They noticed that the restaurant was full of happy customers, who seemed to be having a good time. They saw some families with kids, some couples on dates, some friends hanging out, and some solo diners. They all looked relaxed and satisfied, and Lily felt a warm feeling in her chest.She realized that Mellow Mushroom Durbin Park was not just a pizza restaurant, but a place where people could connect, have fun, and feel good. She felt grateful to Mia for bringing her here, and for being her friend. She told Mia how much she appreciated her, and how much she enjoyed their lunch. Our waitress was fantastic and even threw in a free dessert for our first visit. It's a good location in the Durbin area on the border for parking purposes and has great Jacksonville themed decor. Of course the food was delicious as well.

We have been here multiple times and once again we were very pleased with our pizzas, salads, and service. Our server was friendly and attentive!We started with buffalo chicken pizza and then got the holy shiitake. Wow! The flavor with the buffalo had a nice kick but doesn't burn your mouth down!My husband and I both loved the flavors. My husband chose the holy shiitake due to his fierce love of mushrooms. It was shockingly super good, as I'm not a huge mushroom fan!

We placed an order to go, one of the items was macaroni and cheese. The container was barely half full, and the container was small. They probably figured that since it was a to go order they could short us. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I had to cook something at home as there was not enough to feed a small child.
