10/14/23. What a fun morning today! We have a water aerobics marathon (9 am-12:00) for the YMCA children's swim team. We donated $25 ea (over 100 people), if you wanted to donated things to go into raffle baskets (I donated gourd ornaments and Santa faced shell ornaments) and we got 3 hours of fun exercise and delicious food! I even won one of the baskets..how cool!

this YMCA needs a renovation badly. Also, there are lifeguards do not do their duties. I hit my head on the side of the pool, and just laid on the edge of the pool because I was dizzy and I couldn't think none of the two lifeguards came over to help me, even though one was looking at me when I hit my head,The manager didn't do anything about it. I had to pay hospital expenses. I had to get an emergency CT scan and I had a lot of bad effects from that and I was shocked at how they didn't take any action. All they wanted to know is whether I was going to sue them or not they could've just send me flowers and paid for my medical bills! Or at least offered.And I canceled my membership and they said that it would take two months for it to be canceled. Which is ridiculous because when you pay them they take your money immediately so after I had a concussion and nobody helped me I still had to pay for two months of membership The management is bad and the lifeguards are not prepared to see if anybody's life. One of them I saw I don't know. I think he had his phone with me and he wasn't looking at the pool at all for 10 minutes it's ridiculous.They have a big picture of Jesus at their front entrance, and they should think about, "what would Jesus do? Instead of doing absolutely nothing."

This is a great place for the Whole Family! They provide Kid Care so you can get 2.5 Hrs in each work day! Facilities are clean, there are plenty of cardio machines. The free weight area gets busy during certain times but it's manageable. I purchased (for a small amount) an all coast pass so I can use the many branches in the First Coast collection of branches.I don't want more competition for the bench press, but I totally recommend this chain and n the N Florida area

Joined the YMCA. Looked for the Village People but couldn't find them. LOLGood exercise facility with all the machines and weights you need.Time to get in shape.They have an outdoor heated pool, lockers and classes.Hint get referred NY a member and save 20 %.Special time limited donate school supplies for military families and you will not pay the joining fee.2 free visits with trainer upon joining. Good friendly staff will answer your questions about the exercise equipment.Kathleen at the front desk is terrific and will be most helpful.Looking forward to getting into better shape.

Very nice staff, nice pool, everything very clean. My wife and I visited from out of town and were very happy. Will definitely come back!

This is just an amazing YMCA! I am working to rehabilitate leg I badly injured in an accident in 2017. I have very specific workout needs, and this place met them all! The staff is friendly, the facility is clean, and well cared for, the machines are up-to-date and in good repair. It's a very nice facility in all respects.

We are relatively new to the area and joined in Nov. I have been a member of several fitness facilities in prior areas which provides some perspective. I have found very little adherence to the workout rules, for example the 30 minute limit on the cardio equipment. Every time I'm there there is the same group of people that always use the machines for 45-60 min even if there are people waiting. They will only relinquish their machine if someone directly approaches them and pulls "the next in line tag" on their machine and then only 30 min later. This issue has been brought to the staff's attention ( according to some, many times) and there doesn't appear to be any effort made to monitor or correct. It's too bad that a few selfish people create issues for so many. Not sure I would recommend this facility to others, I will be checking out the other options on the island.

Thought it was a great gym with friendly and helpful people! There were plenty of free weights and machines to choice from. Wish I had more time to work out. Will go back again. Staff and members seem like family.

I used this YMCA in Fernandina Beach, FL, for the entire month of February 2019. There is a fair amount of equipment there but this YMCA has such a high demand, at least in the mornings, that it is difficult to get to the equipment, except for the free weights. The staff is friendly and helpful. I am giving this YMCA only two stars because the men's locker room is a travesty. It is filthy and clearly not cleaned very often. The lockers are beat up and need replacement. And, there there are too few lockers in a very small, dingy space that needs a thorough disinfecting. I have a feeling that this particular YMCA is short on funding due to the poor quality and filthy conditions in the locker room area.
