I met up with some friends at the bestBet Food Truck Rally for dinner and snacks. No matter how well I plan beforehand what trucks I want to eat at the plan always falls through. So I went to plan B:When at a food truck rally, all ways look for the trucks with the longest lines. There were a couple that were long but Manila seemed unusually long. A quick browsing of the menu made me realize why. Lumpia, Pork and Chicken Skewers, Pancit, no wonder. Not only did it sound good it smelled wonderful. We made our way to the back of the line. Wait wasn't painfully long as some folks ahead of us gave up and walked off. Patience is a virtue that will be rewarded. The guy taking orders at one point told us in line that they had to stop taking orders for 10 mins just so they could catch up on the orders already placed. Wow. By the time we got to the stand they had ran out of Adobo (pork stew) and the Lumpia entrees. Luckily we could still have lumpia as a side item which meant we couldn't get 7 but instead 3. Cool. I ordered the Liempo (grilled pork belly) Combo with garlic rice and lumpia. It took less than 5 mins before it got to my hands so they were cranking out some food.OMG everything was delish. The liempo was grilled to perfection. Usually anything grilled needs some kinda sauce over it. This needed none of that. If I could I would just order a platter of liempo and pop them in my mouth like popcorn, very tender and juicy. The lumpia was freshly out the fryer and was hot when bitten into, very good. The garlic was a nice compliment to the liempo. I was expecting it to be real garlicky but it was subtle and pleasant. I definitely enjoyed everything and will be returning to this truck in the future.

These guys KILLED IT at the Food Truck Rally in Fleming Island. The trailer is small, so the wait was long, but it was worth it.The pork belly was top notch. Garlic rice was perfect. Adobo pork was 10/10. The lumpia was to die for. Loved it, worth the wait.

I have seen this truck/trailer out for sometime now. They are always at the cecil commerce center and that is too far away. Yea right says the guy that drove 75 miles one way for bbq. It was really good and they made their own sausage and bologna. But anyway Manila Stix is a super small trailer with a griddle and a hood. That's about it. They make some meat on a stick thingies. When I looked at their menu and I made it about half way down and saw pork belly and stopped right there. I don't know anyone that likes it more then me. I did get to talk to owners Richard and Ezette. They are husband n wife and in this trailer they better be. It's really touchy feely inside. I did get the lowdown on this truck and they seem to have a good product ideas too. Now I did notice that (Navy Guy) hubby works the front of the house and wife works the grill. So I had to sit and watch how this one works. I do most of the cooking in our house. I will say that the pork belly was pretty darn good. Nice flavors from the marinade of a lot of soy and some teriyaki along with some other secret seasonings. Salt, pepper, garlic, lots of garlic you know secret stuff. I also got a pork stix that was lets say a smig over. The same seasoning combo just grilled a lot. In all I will eat from this truck again when I see them closer to town.

We waited in line for over an hour at the Asian Food Market last night with high hopes. After I saw one of the cooks wipe her face and nose, and continue to handle food without changing her gloves, we decided to get food elsewhere. Very disappointed! I don't care how good the food is if basic food safety and sanitation practices are not followed. We gave two stars for the benefit of the doubt that the food really is that good. Needless to say, we'll never find out.

Manila Stix Food Truck has good food according to the staff at the Main Post Office Jacksonville. The Lumpia, the Pancit and the BBQ stix all received high marks by the personnel. Calling their 860-3151 hotline aided in getting the orders fast.

The food was the BOMB!!! We heard so much about them Filipino food and this was my first time to try... I am glad I tried their food and will always hunt them down from now on. My boyfriend and I were at the Asian Festival and we decided to try them out. We waited a while to get our food..I am sure not just us cuz all of them food trucks were packed! I was called by the sweet aroma in the air coming from Manila Stix truck.. can't lie that helped me make a decision as to where I will get my dinner at! Now, whoever says they are filthy and unsanitary is just HATING! Their truck was probably the cleanest I have seen among LOTS of food trucks out there! Not to mention if you're grilling and frying there's grease..and there's None! I observed their truck, the coolers are white and employees/ owners are very clean. I also noticed they wear gloves while handling food. The lady and the man who handles the food inside are TROOPERS!! With all that smoke inside the truck you would wonder how they survive inside there for hours and hours IN THIS FLORIDA HEAT!!! Not to mention getting smoke in them eyes.. I saw them using clean towels to wipe their faces... and change gloves at least 2 times while we were waiting on our food. So keep it up Manila Stix! More and more people will crave your delicious Pancit (noodles), lumpia and the oh so gooooood Liempo (pork belly)!!! I got the #2 combo and price was also decent! I will be folllowing you around and I already crave your food... Thank you for serving your for here in JAX!!!
