Mandolas Italian Kitchen - Jacksonville

We were greeted by a wonderful person that advised how we order. Very interesting dining experience however was fabulous. Menus are placed in the front of the restaurant to peruse and then move on to the cash register to order and pay. Also includes bar items , except you can sit at the bar and the bartender will provide full service!Found a table, decided what to eat and proceeded to pay. Served complimentary focaccia/seasoned oil which was very good. Drinks were delivered promptly. Everything that is made is fresh and the kitchen/cooks are visible from where anyone sits, very impressive.Ordered chicken sandwich on the homemade focaccia. Chicken was pounded & very tender with roasted red pepper... came with fries or salad. Sandwich was oh so good however Cesar salad was not great, croutons were too hard. Food order was delivered promptly and waitress was very pleasant.Dessert is also available, cookies, cake and gelato. Greeter came by with a plate of 4 cookies to try for free. All were good however there was an almond pine nut cookie that was absolutely out of this world. Will be going back just for this little taste of heaven.Over all great tasting food/on point service and can't wait to go back to try other items.

Mandalas is a very clean and well run casual Italian place, that I really want to like, but sadly it falls short. The lunch menu offers good value, but execution is not there. The croutons in the ice cold Caesar salad were hard as rocks, though the dressing was lemony and bright. The pizza crust was thin with a very nice sauce, but it was undercooked with way too much flop. And while the foccaia on my first visit was fresh, this time it was stale and the herbatious olive oil for dipping was over salted. The service was very efficient, and the friendly manager stopped by to ensure that I was happy. A nice spot but execution was just not there.

I've been wanting to come here for a while, as I had heard rave reviews about the restaurant. My husband decided to take the family here for dinner one Saturday night. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot, but there were a lot of cars for the various places in the shopping center. When we walked in, we were amazed by the openness of the restaurant. It was bigger than we expected. We browsed the menus, and I decided on the spaghetti with Bolognese sauce and meatballs, my husband chose the Saturday special of short braised ribs, and I picked the spaghetti and butter kids meal for my son. We were impressed that our son received the food, a drink, and a cup of gelato with his meal. It's more than you receive in other restaurants! For our three meals, it was around $55. We did end up ordering a regular gelato from the other section of the restaurant, and that was around $8 but you get a huge portion. We were able to sit down and find a high chair for our son. Our food came out quickly, and we started eating. The food was fresh and delicious, and my husband liked the short ribs. His only complaint is that there was more to eat. I enjoyed my spaghetti and thought that the ingredients were fresher than what I have eaten at other popular Italian restaurants. we could see why a lot of families had come here, as the food was good, there was plenty of room, and the prices were reasonable. We'll be back again!

Love going to Mandolas Italian Kitchen the service is always top notch they are so attentive. The food is delish! So many great options. I love that we can always go as a big group and they are accommodating!

Awww have to update my review after this last lunch there, it was so sad :( Me and my lil one came in for lunch, we got the grilled chicken and veggie lunch with minestrone soup for me, kids cheese pizza.For the pros: loved the kids meal came with a drink and a scoop of gelato and her pizza was pretty good! Cons: my whole meal, Starting with the soup, it tasted so watery, like they had added water to stretch normal soup, no flavor I added salt and parm to try to help it out, but no rich, tomato flavor at all.Then my grilled chicken was a measly portion of chicken that was grilled to death, so tough I could barely cut thru it with my butter knife, I did like the grilled veggies particularly the roasted red peppers I tried to use them to help the chicken get down, just a miss all around for my lunch.

Orders are placed at counter with friendly staff. The food is fresh served and they have a great variety. They even have fresh made focaccia with olive oil on the table. It's an upbeat ambience good for family meals or meeting with friends or colleagues. After your meal, you will struggle to decide which delightful homemade dessert to indulge

I had my first taste of Mandola's at a friend's house when they ordered a bunch of takeout for us. I was so delighted I couldn't wait to try it again! So we picked up some and brought it home during luncg time, and everything was fresh even after the ride home. That Margherita Pizza was just great. That Olive oil basil is the best. Most places just give you Olive oil. Maybe some garlic in it, but this place seasons it up. It's flavorful, and that is the winning point for me!Service was fast, and my order came home with napkins and lots of parmesan cheese and that olive oil mixture I have fallen in love with. If you know tiramusu than you know they did it right.Tiramisu is suppose to be rum-soaked lady fingers, some use coffee or both and layered with mascarpone cheese and this was just that...mmmmmmm.. amore.. #Mandola #PizzaPerfection #FlavorExplosion

Gave my babies a free gelato on my first visit for being so darn cute. Also it's really really clean and tasty and reasonably priced. 10/10 would visit again.

I was out running errands and heard good things about this place so I stopped in for lunch. Excellent decision. I had a hard time picking what I wanted because everything looked delish. I ended up choosing a meatball panino and went with a side of fries. Fries felt like a weird choice (they're the default side) but they were very yummy. And the meatball panino - that's amore. I would say the best meatball sandwich I've had in Jax. It came on a "rustic bun" - I would have preferred it in more of a sub type sandwich bread but it was still great. I liked the bread itself, but I think it wasn't the best match for the meatballs. These meatballs are well seasoned, cooked to perfection and the sauce is pretty dang good, all alongside the delicious melty cheese. While I waited for my food, they brought over bread and dipping oil. That was unexpected. I definitely maxed out on carbs this day because I ate a lot of that bread. And a lot of that delicious olive oil. And with a dessert case like this, you really have to try *something*. I went with gelato. Stracciatella - which you don't see often in this part of the country. Very good! A little pricey I felt. But sometimes the indulgence is worth it. It is a pretty typical fast casual place with counter service and I thought very cute Italian decor. There are tons of tables inside and out, and you're not on top of other tables. Every worker I interacted with was very nice and pleasant. I will go back again for sure. A few more menu items I'm dying to try. And so many desserts! Definitely recommend stopping in!

5 stars! And I would give more! The food is amazing and you can certainly tell it's fresh! The manger is always waking around checking on tables and talking with customers. He told me they make their own pasta (it's the BEST!), cheese, focaccia bread, pizza dough etc. we ordered the chicken Marsala and eggplant Parmesan. Both came with a side of pasta and were both so delicious! We had enough to take home, and today I couldn't wait to have leftovers! I'm upset with myself for not trying this restaurant earlier....its now one of my favorites even though I have to drive over the bridge. It will be worth it!!Casual setting but very fun and certainly family friendly....kids get free gelato!
