We probably just went on the wrong night. We had a reservation for four and we were sat on time. We passed a couple company Christmas parties and it looked like no one had their food yet. So we were eager to order and get our food going, because we had plans for after dinner. Service was ok at first but then completely fell apart. Our server, Josh, looked like Ben affleck. The first cocktail I ordered was unavailable. Apparently they batch it and they were out. It took awhile for our cocktails to arrive. We ordered appetizers and entrees to get it moving. It took 1.5 hours before my mom's side salad arrived. It was a Cesar salad, and did not have any croutons and severely lacked in dressing. I sent it back. The manager came out and said they were out of croutons so I told him to find some toast points. He said he would see what he could do. Excuse me? You're the manager. Get it done. Luckily, he did. The wrong appetizer came to our table and I refused it. Maybe that's why no one had their food. They were making mistakes. Our drinks ran dry. Our server was no where to be found. We went to the bar to try to order more drinks. The bartender said he would come by our table. Lies. He never came. We finally flagged our server down and I mentioned that he disappeared. He said some story about a prank call that his mother had been shot and therefore he was on the phone trying to figure out how to help his mom. He finally realized it was a joke. Ha! Some joke. What a jerk who did that. I then proceeded to order TWO drinks at once so I would not again be left dry. The mussels were good but they were literally cooked and then placed on top of the sauce. The sauce needs to be IN them. The cauliflower was the best appetizer. The tuna was standard fare. When the food came out, the burger bun was pathetic. It looked like the potato bun you get in a 24 pack at Costco. The fries were good and the burger was fine despite the cheap bun. My mom's linguini shrimp looked fine. My dad's fish and chips was a huge portion. My husband's fish was burned on one side. The Asian slaw had no sauce- was completely dry. How can anyone eat that? The grits were good. We skipped dessert because it took three hours for the four of us to eat dinner. The timing was absolutely terrible. We hustled the server to get our check so we could make it to Daytonas magic of lights before they closed. We barely made it. Bathrooms are clean. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The menu looks amazing but the kitchen is lacking in execution. Service was abhorrent. I mean I'm sorry for the prank call, but that's not on me. We will not be back to eat again. I may come back for a drink and a snack at the bar, but anything more than that, might be another disaster. What a shame; Such a cool place and a great location.

My wife and I came a couple of months ago to Mama Foo Foo to celebrate her birthday, and this was our experience.A lot of the reviews mentioned this being a great place to eat and take aesthetic photos. Upon entering, the restaurant was nicely dimmed, with soft EDM music playing in the background. I was very impressed with the style and atmosphere of Mama Foo Foo--9/10.Our server was very nice and gave us great recommendations for both our appetizers and entrées.Appetizers:The Saffron Arancini, made with arborio rice, fontina cheese, marinara, and parmesan, was definitely a great start to our night. It was soft yet tender, and the amount of marinara sauce inside was perfect--10/10.The Burrata & Fig, made with burrata cheese, house-made fig jam, sourdough, and basil, was iconic. The in-house fig jam was perfect. I wish I could take it home with me. The bread was toasted to perfection. This is a must-have appetizer--10/10.Entrées:I had the Wagyu Double Smash Burger. It was made with American wagyu beef, cheddar, bacon tomato jam, shredded lettuce, pickles, onions, and French fries. As far as smash burgers go, this was very underwhelming. The patties themselves didn't look smashed at all. The taste felt very bland. The fact that it was made with wagyu beef intrigued me enough to order; however, it was not worth it--5/10.My wife got the Rigatoni Bolognese. It was made with slow-cooked house beef bolognese, whipped ricotta, basil, and garlic bread. I took a few bites of this, but it wasn't to my liking. It felt like I ordered regular pasta and beef. -- 6/10Overall:Mama Foo Foo's ambiance really impressed me with its beautiful architecture, cool music, and very tasteful small plates. However, the quality of their large plates did not meet our expectations. If you go to this restaurant, just go for the bar and the appetizers.

Okay guys Mama Foo Foo is fantastic. Just so you understand we have driven in two separate occasions over 100 just to eat here. It right next to the water and the views and atmosphere are one of a kind. Not to mention everything I've had here has been delicious.

Great spot right near the water, only downside to the outdoor seating was the plants sort of block the view partially....The outside was not very busy so it was very enjoyable/quiet. The food options I tried were all surprisingly very good.Josh was an outstanding waiter, It was my first time here. He was patient, polite, and thorough when explaining the menu while remaining helpful with some excellent recommendations! Definitely recommend coming to try them out, they have a rotating menu for food.

Very cool restaurant with a very interesting ambiance. The coconut curry cauliflower has to be the best cauliflower recipe I ever tasted. Even if you don't like cauliflower you will like this appetizer. Their chicken and burgers were okay - nothing I would rush to get again. Fair warning it also gets VERY busy weekend nights, so if you don't like large crowds or loud spaces I suggest going earlier or on a week night.

We recently visited thus restaurant with fabulous decor and a great location. The craft cocktails were inventive, and the menu offered a nice array of dishes. The hamburger was good, and the ribeye was beautifully presented but unfortunately burnt. I should have sent it back, but I was so hungry that I ate it, gristle and all, which I regretted. The cook must have used a new fire/too high of heat, which ruined the experience for me. My fault for not saying something. However, the standout dish for us was the Brussels sprouts. They were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The service was excellent, which added to the overall positive experience.Overall, while there were some issues, the restaurant has a lot of potential, especially with its creative cocktails and excellent service.

First things first, our server Gianna (I believe) was fantastic. Worth a trip to be served by her. I don't say this lightly when I tell you their honey-soy dry rub chicken wings are some of the best I've ever had, and my body is made up of 32% fried chicken. My wife absolutely loved the Tuna Poke tower appetizer (as well as the ambience when things turned from restaurant to nightclub). I might be a little too old for the music that was playing there that night, but when they're pouring drinks that regularly for me, it makes for a fun night.

Ordered:Broke & Famous cocktail (~$12): Bergamot vodka, grapefruit, ginger, honeyPrime Skirt Steak (~$38): skirt steak, chimichurri, and mashed potatoes, and substituted broccolini (~$3)Shrimp Scampi (~$29): Key West shrimp, linguine, white wine, butter, cherry tomatoes, pecorino romanoBurrata & Fig (~$20): fig jam, burrato cheese, sourdough, and basilMussel Frites (~$24): mussels, truffle fries, and black garlic aioliGrilled Wings (~$15): garlic parmesan flavorAya's take:Mama Foo Foo is trendy and classy with a nice ambiance - great for dates, dinner with friends, or other celebrations. Most of the food we had was great. The main highlights were the addictive Mussel Frites! I also loved how tender and juicy the Grilled Wings were. The Prime Skirt Steak completely lacked seasoning; I'm talking no salt or pepper. I had to ask my waiter to bring me some to help make it a bit more palpable. I didn't understand why I was charged ~$3 for substituting a vegetable; it wasn't an add-on. The Shrimp Scampi was decent, as well. The Broke & Famous cocktail missed the mark for me entirely; it wasn't a cohesive drink at all and the grapefruit was way too overpowering. All in all, it was a decent experience but the menu offerings seemed hit or miss.

This is a treasure in the intracoastal waters of Daytona. The decor has an Asian flair although not sure why exactly. The drinks are all handcrafted and use all natural ingredients. I had the tequila Mexican Barracuda. Tried the mezcal drink but it was too much pineapple so I went back to the tequila ginger drink. Their small plates were awesome. We had the fig burrata and the Arancini. Both came out immediately and were very well presented and were flavorful. Then we had an amazing risotto. It was curried with crispy coconut cauliflower tossed in Thai chili. Amazing!! The smash burger was juicy and accompanied by perfect fries. The service was on point. Well worth the trip or money. Please try this place out!
