This spot on Baymeadows is easy to miss due to its location but it is a good option for Mexican. I went with a group of 30 on a Saturday to support the restaurant after it sponsored a local youth baseball team. The restaurant is large and there is plenty of seating for groups of all sizes. It is decorated in traditional Mexican restaurant motifs with both table and booth seating. Prior to the meal, the brought out warm chips and a chilled salsa. Both were enjoyed. I ordered lunch taco salad with ground beef. I was surprised you could order from the lunch menu on a weekend but it was a nice option. The taco salad was not your typical bowl but more of a large taco shell, but it was still really good. Some of the other diners around me got lunch fajitas, a chicken and shrimp dinner with queso and quesadillas. Everything was well cooked but the ground beef was a little bland. The servers did a great job getting the food out despite the large number and we all ended up eating as a group though there was a little confusion at times as to who ordered what due to the large number of persons. I had to have my check corrected after the server charged me for a drink I did not order (at $4 a piece for a soda I had to fix that). One of the ladies I was with said her office goes there for lunch and has never had a bad meal. Definitely worth a look.

Can we all agree that Mexican Food is the antibiotic to life's ills. And like CVS or Walgreen's you're likely to find a Mexican joint on just about every neighborhood corner. So when one disappoints you don't have to travel far to find redemption. My usual spot was suffering from major identity crisis so I decided to try Los Loros on Baymeadows just west of Philips Highway. It shares a parking lot with Al-Basha, a Middle Eastern market I shop at regularly. My first several visits were Taco Tuesday stops where I'd usually do 3 a la carte Tacos($9.50) and 3 a la carte Enchiladas ($9.50). You can select Hard or Soft shell tacos and either Chicken or Beef on both. On Tuesday the tacos are only $8. There is ample seating snd beautiful Latin murals painted on the walls. It may be 10 years before I feel the need to go anywhere else for these two simple favorites. Huge portions, great flavor, quality ingredients and a great price. My server Nina always takes great care of me and takes the time each visit to stop and chat me up while I enjoy the complimentary Chips and Salsa. Alex the manager also visits each table to check if guests are happy. But this review was to Scoop my most recent visit and entree the Pollo con Papas. It is Chicken breast grilled with potatoes, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and chipotle chile pepper. Served with rice and vegetables(cheesy broccoli and cauliflower). Topped with cheese dip for $18.50. This dish delivered like a kiss on the first date, whatever that's like. I've never had a Mexican dish with potatoes and never thought to but this combination of ingredients was a veritable super group of flavors like Antonio Banderas and the Song of the Mariachi .So next time you're feeling Desperado head to Baymeadows and give your Mexican experience an upgrade at Los Loros. -- at Los Loros.

Summary: a classic, reliable staple for the typical Mexican food you expect (I say this as a Floridian, let's not get into regional Mexican wars, LOL).I'm long overdue for this review. I first started visiting Los Loros in like 2014 when I lived off the southside service road and forgot about it for a while before moving about a block away in 2022.My fiancé and I probably ate here 3x a week while renovating our kitchen and have kept up with 1x a week/every other week since. As we all know there is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in this town. There is something for every niche and many places with standout specialties. That being said... Everything I've ever ordered has been good, I've never had a complaint or unsatisfactory meal. The servers are always nice, quick, and will start to remember your extra sauce orders when you go there as often as we do!First: great value. In today's climate, cost is a deciding factor in where you go out to eat. When we're hungry and in a rush, lazy mood, or don't have groceries; we always know we're going to get a huge, tasty, and reasonably priced meal at Los Loros. My go to is the Combo #3: 2 tacos, an enchilada, and a chile relleno for about $11. You can't beat it!I am very picky with chile rellenos and these are always bursting with liquid melty cheese and smothered in delicious sauce. The enchilada sauce is different, and also very tasty. As a self proclaimed sauce connoisseur I appreciate the variety and that every dish isn't topped with the same exact red sauce. Of course the enchiladas suizas or verdes will have a green sauce, which I also love. The salsa is on point every time.Honorable mention: quesadilla relleno (huge!), fajitas (obviously), and the flautas (make sure to ask for a side of chipotle sauce, it makes all the difference!)The house margaritas are STRONG! My 200+lb fiancé who is no stranger to cocktails got surprisingly tipsy the last time we ordered ONE large one The interior is a fun vibe, but be wary if you get easily overstimulated- most nights of the week there is some type of karaoke or singing going on in addition to loud music. The place is so large though that we usually get a table on the other side of the platform center and the noise is normal where we can have a conversation. Bonus- they have their own Los Loros app for online ordering and convenient pickup. They also have a rewards program where you enter your phone number at checkout and we have redeemed many a free queso, guacamole, entree, or margarita! They could also definitely accommodate a pretty large group in the aforementioned platform center area of the restaurant. When you're not looking for ~specialty~ trendy often overpriced Mexican food, Los Loros is ole reliable! Only downside is no outdoor seating if you're looking for that. (Now I need to catchup on the probably 100 food pics from here in my camera roll )

Always my go to neighborhood restaurant for Mexican. They have an extensive menu of fresh authentic recipes. A family owned business, not a chain of processed and frozen corporate junk food. Service is always excellent. You won't regret your time here and your stomach will surely thank you.

This evening my family and I celebrated my aunts birthday at her favorite Mexican restaurant in Mandarin! We all enjoyed the clean and comfortable seating. While enjoying our beverages as we waited for our food the staff was friendly and polite. Our server named Elisa was super kind and professional. Food was delicious and fresh. I'm looking forward to returning again in the new year and continue celebrating with friends and family while enjoying great food at Los Loros!

If you're looking for an authentic, family operated Mexican restaurant look no further than Los Loros. My friends and I stopped in for dinner post FL-GA tailgating and I am extremely happy we did. We were immediately greeted by the host who sat us in a clean booth. The menu here is like Cheesecake Factory - extensive with numerous options for everyone and also super affordable. They serve you a basket of complimentary chip and salsa, which is fresh and tasty. The salsa has a little kick but still is very good. I was in the mood for some tacos and Los Loros has a vast amount of options. I ordered the carne asada, lengua (beef tongue), and chicken. They all come with cilantro and white onions and hot sauce which I opted for on the side. The tacos were fresh and large in portion. I tried the lengua first - and whoa! So tender, very well seasoned, and heavenly. If you have never tried it - definitely do not knock it, this was my favorite of the 3 tacos. The closest thing I can say the texture is comparable to is roast beef. I was stuffed after eating just this taco alone. The second taco, the carne asada was very juicy and also very flavorful. The chicken taco was good as well but because it was chargrilled pretty long it almost more saltier in taste in comparison to the other tacos. However, with the fresh lime and hot sauce it easily balanced the chicken taco. In all, I spent a little under than $13 - which is amazing. If you're craving Mexican, make Los Loros a place to visit!

The service and food are always great here. We've never had to wait to be seated, and I really enjoy the layout of the restaurant. This is our go to for Mexican restaurants and we just love it.

I enjoyed this place a couple times but when the place is empty it doesn't make sense to sit 2 families back to back in booths especially when the booths move and you're trying to get comfortable. For the food; it's great food, minus the burritos and enchiladas. I tried both and they both come with ground beef wrapped in a tortilla. Disappointing. I'm from the hood in CA and these wasn't it. Not to mention they won't help you find a meal combo that suits your appetite without charging 14$ extra for corn tortilla tacos with beans, rice and a burrito with something else in it. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but they could do a little better. Then they wouldn't have a choice to sit people wherever they could

My husband and I ordered 3 adult meals from Los Loros. I picked up my orderly promptly for carry out and I asked if I could have a side of chips and salsa. The woman bringing me my food told me no, it's extra. I asked, well if I were dining in, it would be unlimited chips and salsa? She didn't say anything, I went on to say I ordered almost $60 worth of food, could I please have a side of chips and salsa. Again she told me no but I could order it and pay at the bar. No thank you, Los Loros, and we will not be back for such poor customer service. I know times are tough, but 3 adult meals should warrant an order of chips and salsa.
