We found this unassuming restaurant while looking through yelp for some ideas. The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Beach Boulevard and has limited seating. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the chef herself. It was a unique experience to have a conversation with the chef with subsequently go and cook our dinner! She told me that the restaurant is relatively new with hopes of expansion, and she was currently working to get more staff to handle the demand. We love the fact that the restaurant was small with a very personal touch as evidenced by the fantastic food. Each mouthful contain tons of flavor. There are three options for spice levels, mild, moderate and hot. We tried the fried wontons and crab Rangoon's for the appetizer followed by chicken green curry and the pad prig pao..The milk fried tea was probably the best we've ever had.We selected the moderate level, which was very tasty. I know many may have different spice thresholds so medium may be a good place to start. I think next time I may try the hot level. I was also pleased with the fact that there is free parking in the lot. This seems like one of the best kept secrets on the beach Boulevard dining scene.I think we will return to try some more of the menu items.

A truly superb Thai restaurant with great food and service! It's been a while since I had Panang with chicken and the helping with lots of green beans and side of rice was almost enough for me to take it home for seconds! But I got more motivation because I loved the dish that I kept going - and promptly put myself into a food coma! My friend had pad Thai - basic dish in a large bowl with a side of brown rice. I will give them a Lil hit because they did bring the wrong side, but it was good enough to give them a pass. It's really just an issue with our server who didn't understand English well, so we did have some communication issues. It's ok - these things happen sometimes in restaurants so I'm gentle when it comes to scoring on this. In all, I was happy with the service, even with the juggling in our communication. I did like the look of the restaurant. It's a ma and pa shop that's nice in appearance. You see some traditional Thai decor on the interior but it's certainly nowhere near overwhelming. There are a good number of booths here with nice spacing. I encourage people to visit Lil Thai as the cuisine here is superior to many Thai restaurants I've experienced in recent years! Give it a try!Recommend: HIGH

This little mom-and-pop Thai restaurant is a hidden gem for authentic flavors! We went on a quiet Wednesday evening, and although it was empty, the food quality was anything but. It's a quaint and quiet little restaurant located off beach, near the Mayo Clinic so I expected more people to come here.We ordered a curry, pad kee mao, and fried rice--each dish was packed with bold, fresh flavors that really stood out.The service was a bit slow, but it's clear they make everything from scratch, and you can taste the difference. The curry was creamy and well-spiced, the pad kee mao had that perfect balance of heat and savoriness, and the fried rice was flavorful without being greasy. If you're looking for real, homemade Thai food and don't mind waiting a bit for quality, this spot is well worth a visit. Just be patient--you'll be rewarded with some of the best Thai food around!

Stopped by after a visit to the Mayo Clinic. Food was great, all fresh ingredients and cooked to order. ... not ahead of time.

Cute authentic Thai spot. Located off Beach in a small strip mall. We arrived at 630 on Saturday night and the place was empty. A few tables filled as we were there. There was one lady taking orders and signs that said 1-2 ppl to cook. Despite that, food came out fast and great tasting. I will definitely be back and will try some new things!

Run, don't walk, to Lil Thai Place!! This gem is tucked in a strip mall but don't let that fool you. The food is authentic, fresh, and delicious. We stopped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon and were rhetorical only a ones there. The owner greeted us right away and talked to us about the menu and how she sourced everything as freshly and authentically as possible. My son ordered the pork dumplings and said, "These are the best dumplings I've ever had!" The pork is sweet and savory and the wrappers were just the right light texture. My husband ordered the Pad Thai and devoured the whole plate. It was light, fresh, and mild. They provided roasted Thai pepper for us to season it to our liking. Perfection! I had the drunken noodles and they were the best I've ever had as well. The owner gave us each a spring roll on the house. Such a nice surprise! We will 100% be back soon!!

Dagnabit!! I was really hoping this little place would be at least above average. Unfortunately, it was a 2/5 based on the rice noodles were gooey, vegetables were hard and fibrous. The Tom Yum soup was spicy, with 4 overcooked shrimp, a lone basil leaf and a half a cup of your basic white mushrooms. Looking for lemongrass, galangal flavors, not there. Now I think I know why place was empty on a Saturday night at 7pm. Sorry

A very unassuming little place. What a great stop though! Sign at the door tells you it's real Thai not "Jax authentic Thai" and it was different. The owner came out and talked to us about it all. She makes everything herself or sources direct from Thailand. Had the Pad Thai which she said is the traditional way to make it. Served with her home made "hot pepper" - which is roasted and ground Thai chilis - this was really unlike any other I've had in town. Very aromatic, very light. Had egg and tofu and a nice sauce but much lighter. Really enjoyed it ate every bite. Also had the pork dumplings which were fantastic. Very sweet soy and fatty delicious pork forward. Really enjoyed them. Service was excellent. Owner took care of us and even wanted us to sample some things and brought us a spring roll, which had a delicious coconut garlic sauce. Loved this place!

What a find!?! This is a tiny place, but very big on flavors. We came here 4/11 around 6:30pm and it was amazing. We ordered the vegetarian springs rolls, pad see ew and drunken noodle. The presentation was great, but the food was delicious. The spice level was perfect. I can't wait to get back here. Thank you for the great food.
