Las Tapatias Mexican Restaurant

If you're looking for a hole in the wall, AUTHENTIC Mexican food then this is your place!! I don't speak Spanish but every time I come in, it feels like home! The service is always quick and the waitresses are super polite. I have tried their carne asada, birria, fajita nachos, and a few different tacos and there has not been a single time that I've come in where I don't leave satisfied. I love this place and even after moving back to the westside I still drive 30 mins to eat here. Plus they have the crazy mango candy chamoy drinks that are an absolute MUST TRY!!!

This was my first visit to Las Tapatias so I felt like I had to try their Quesabirria Tacos since I've seen rave reviews for them. I'm happy to report that they lived up to the hype! They came out quickly, were piping hot & perfectly crispy without being oily, and the meat was fantastic. I nearly stuffed myself to finish the third but finally decided to be reasonable and take it home with the remaining consommé. I'm very glad that I'd read a review that the salsa verde served with the dish was hot. I dipped just the tip of my finger in for a taste & boy was it too spicy for me. I'd never tried Horchata before so I asked if I could try a small sample. The waitress happily obliged and I enjoyed it, so I was able to cool my taste buds down with a refreshing drink.

Michilada's are AMAZING! Had the tacos here and seafood soup which the tacos were okay.

The final review of 2023 goes to Las Tapatías! I feel like I am so late to the party. This place is so authentic and delicious! We were looking for a quick bite to eat last night and I immediately thought of las tapatías, we arrived and were seated promptly. I ordered the horchata to drink and loved it so much, the flavor and texture was exactly how it should be! My brother ordered the quesabirria and said the tacos were amazing, flavorful and cooked perfectly. But beware, the green sauce that comes with it is so spicy but full of flavor, we couldn't stop eating it lol! I ordered a bean burrito, cheese enchilada and rice and beans. Everything I ordered was great, but next time I will ask for cheese in the burrito and no sauce on top. The rice and beans were also very flavorful! I will definitely return to this location!

This place is so delicious. I was surprised when I can for dinner and there wasn't many people dinning in there. I had the chorizo tacos and I would totally go back again. Took a star off because there bar is more for supplies than actually having a bartender there and serving people.

I really love their pozole but hardly make it in time for a bowl. We went Saturday, right at opening and was able to grab a bowl as well as a carnita taco on fresh hand made tortilla!You know ... I've been in Jax 7 years and am so happy to have found my little hidden gem for authentic Mexican food. The service is always friendly, the drinks are cold, the food is incredible.

A Mexican cuisine located on Southside with a diverse selection of authentic dishes at affordable prices. My chicken tacos were cooked to perfection with a delicious taste to match, yum yum! As someone that loves my meals spicy, I had my tacos with their homemade red hot sauce and definitely recommend it. The service from the staff was very professional and my meal was served very quickly and with a smile. It's definitely on my list to revisit as I'm very enthusiastic towards trying the other food items on their menu.⁣My order: Pollo Tacos

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. The tacos are absolutely delicious. I got the Al pastor tacos which are always juicy and packed with the best seasoning. This is as authentic as it gets. The prices are more than fair, portions rather large and the staff is always kind and welcoming. You walk in and are greeted with beautiful paintings, music playing and house made chips and salsa. This place definitely holds the top spot for me thus far.

Shoutout to our local community heroes! We loved the fact that the local patrons enjoy this venue! Happy faces and yummy food always make me feel better when I try a new restaurant. I was looking forward to trying their menu! My favorites were all available and of course I knew I had to control myself and not order too much. We enjoyed the salsa and chips and the extra sauces to personalize to our tastes. We had ordered queso and chorizo which was piping hot and rich and savory. We had a crunchy chicharones piled up with all the veggies like fresh avocado and I think it also had squid on it. So very refreshing and delicious! Hit my cravings! I ordered Caldo de res which had a large amount of tender beef, big pieces of veggies and savory broth! It was served with hot tortillas and Mexican rice! Yummmm! Hubby had the birria ramen which he said was very rich and easy to eat! I dipped one of my tortillas into the birria consommé and it was legit!! Friendly and attentive service and a comfortable neighborly setting. I can't wait to eat here again and try more delicious delicacies! Flavors are on point !

Pollo tacos were really good, along with the barria tacos. Place is small and out of the way but worth the visit. Service was excellent!
