So fun to find a New Orleans style restaurant on Amelia Island! My sister lived in Nola for years so I've missed this food. The shrimp and grits was fabulous and totally lived up to some great ones we've eaten there. They have a large selection of wine by the glass which was fun. Unfortunately we were pretty limited to appetizers since my partner is celiac so we had the smoked salmon brûlée which was excellent, although the salmon dip is super rich. Our other entree was the curry salmon which was served with a papadum and Carolina gold rice which is new to me and so delicious. The ambiance is overall fun although the lights over the tables cast a harsh glare in your face/table - but they look cool so I understand the appeal. Overall we had a great time - and don't forget to tip the kitchen a 6-pack or 12-pack - love this option.

Talk about a horrific experience. I brought my wife to this place thinking it would be an elegant and classy dining experience. Let me tell you this was by far the worst experience l've ever had in Amelia Island. My wife found a disgusting hairs in her meal. When I alerted the waitress of the situation, she took the plate and ran in the back of the restaurant and came back with another plate of food??? no l'm sorry we ruined your meal. There was no apology. There was no would you like something different to eat? What was even more appalling was the manager didn't even have the decency to come over to the table and check to see what was wrong or what he could do to make it right.Completely unprofessional. My wife obviously did not want anything else to eat after this experience and we asked for the check. Upon receiving the check, they were charging us for the food that had the hair in it!!!! Can you imagine any restaurant, charging for food where a patron had found her in their food from someone on their staff preparing the food???Absolutely horrendous management at this place. We paid the bill and left as we were both visibly disturbed at how they conduct business at this clown show of a restaurant.Upon arriving home about 45 minutes later, I get text messages from the clown manager of Lagniappe, stating that no one in his staff, could've gotten her into the food and denying all accountability for the food whatsoever that his staff provided my wife and I.Who goes out of their way to go and text a patron af they completely screwed up their meal on a birthday dinner and then to text someone and harass them af having a horrendous experience at the restaurant? his texting to me, he denied any accountability for th horrendous meal that he served with disgusting hair it. I let him know his behavior was appalling and he was completely unprofessional and how he managed restaurant. Talk about a completely classless and rude management at this restaurant. I hope he reads this article, because I am going to let every person that I know in business and personally be aware of how he treats customers with his lack of accountability for his staffs mistakes Do not go to this restaurant.!

Came in with a group of 8. Everyone had a different meal, appetizer and dessert. Fried green eggplant and lump crabcake were the best but the fried pork rolls and fried oysters were also excellent. For mains I suggest either the blackened red fish or the halibut special. Also must try the tart and succulent collard greens. Best desert was the flourless chocolate cake and the warmed pecan pie with ice cream.

First time here after talking about it on several occasions. Came here for wife's Birthday. Well it didn't disappoint! Loved the vibe inside, that old world feel and our server was so attentive and awesome! Tipped her extra.Since this was our first time here we couldn't make a decision on the starter so we asked our server to surprise us. She brought the Fried green tomatoes. A great choice, so yummy and perfectly cooked. My main course, I had to try the Ribeye special of the day after she said to look behind you at another guests meal that was just brought out. Instantly made the decision to get it. Had no idea how much it was just wanted it!Also came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. Had a lovely glaze over the whole steak. So yummy. My wife tried the Blackened Red fish with fried oysters garnishing the top and her sides were the pickled collard greens and the crunchy Brussel sprouts...so good.Of course we had to try the dessert and after we heard banana pudding cheese cake that was a must try. Also gave her a complimentary chocolate pot o cream pudding. I may have called it the wrong name but it was so good also. Both excellent! Overall we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend, however you will pay a premium for the special Ribeye which was $60 bucks, but it was soooo good.

Went to one of our favorite restaurants on the island for our anniversary. Started out with a smoked manhattan and sazerac from there nice cocktail menu. Then a shared ceviche - the mango compote is special. They have a nice wine list which we selected from for our meal. I had the seafood bullion which contains fish, shellfish, calamari, and shrimp in a to die for wine-tomato-vegetable bullion which is wonderful to soak up with crusted bread! My wife had a wonderful beef short rib with macaroni and cheese which she loved. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive as was everyone else. The staff brought us a free chocolate mousse for our anniversary which was very nice of them. The restaurant is always very busy but not too loud. If you are on Amelia Island this is a place to try!

First time at Lagniappe did not disappoint! There is a nice variety of southern, French creole, American dishes. Makes it easy for everyone to find something! Our waiter was super friendly and stopped by quite a few times to check in on and see how we were doing. They have an extensive cocktail menu, liquor and wine list. I always appreciate a great cocktail! For the food, our waiter recommended the trout and the pork chop. He was 100% right, both were great! The pork chop is large and super tender. Goes so well with the blueberry sauce and Mac and cheese is delicious. The fish was also fresh and a large portion with a great summer succotash side. The vibe is a little dungeon and dragons, but the food is really good. It's also really loud in the dining room so I wouldn't necessarily recommend for an intimate date just because it may be hard to hear on a crowded night. Overall, would recommend for some quality drinks and yummy creole cuisine!

This place was recommended to me by a close relative. We made a reservation for our anniversary but after reading redundant reviews of patrons having the same issues from the owner and or staff, we cancelled and decided to dine elsewhere. Sounds like there is much to be desired to a once great place. Yelp asked me to make this review based on my reservation.

Food is always excellent. We love to eat out on the patio under the live oaks and next to the gas fireplace.
