La Napolera Mexican Restaurant

My experience has been nothing less than positive. Food was hot, yummy and prompt. All nachos were fresh not greasy. My taco bowl was enough to share with 2 people

We have been here twice and neither time was good. Both times we were seated immediately and that's where the positives stop. Both times we always had to wait about 20 minutes before our server would come to the table to get our drink order and then both times we would have to wait another 10 minutes to give them our food order. Don't know why, when there were about 10 servers sitting on each other's lap, looking at their cell phones, laughing and goofing off not paying attention to any customers. Food took 30 minutes the first time and roughly 45 the second time once we ordered. They were never busy enough for it to take that long, and the servers never knew what was taking so long. The food was warm not hot and tasted like anything someone could make at home. The look of the restaurant was ok, many tables were not clean, several overhead lights were burnt out, menus were dirty, condiment bottles had drips and broken lids. Save your time and money and just go to Taco Bell, better food and service there.

I am visiting from NC and have eaten at this restaurant in the past and it used to be good but today it was not great. First we waited for over 40 minutes for our food. We had to ask about it twice. The Chile Relleno was not made the way that most Mexican restaurants make it. I even asked if that was what that was because it looked different. The waitress came and got my daughter-in-law's glass to refill it and never brought it back. I had heard from a couple of people that it wasn't as good as it used to be and they were definitely right. We won't go back.

I started eating at La Nap over in San Marco many years ago. Tried several different locations over the years,and they were always about the same. Not great,but not so terrible you cant eat it. UNTIL the last 2 visits to this one. Ate there a few months ago and it was so awful I about x'ed them,but decided last week to try again. Every last thing that had shells was stale. The tacos,chimichanga and even the chips were stale as anything.They werent busy at all,yet it took 20 minutes to get our drinks and 45 to get our food. I would have sent the food back but we never saw our waiter again. Finally flagged down another server to get our check.NEVER again.There are way too many better Mexican places to eat this garbage again.Also,I think they train their staff to be rude.

This place is terrible!! It says authentic Mexican food and it is literally slop put on a plate. They just throw it together...like what food is poorly put together!! The only good thing are the drinks. I can get this at Taco Bell!! Very displeased

We go to La Napolera about 4-5 times a month and there is a good reason for that. The food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable.There is always enough food that you have leftovers to take home. It's always just as good the next day as well.Another thing that we love about La Napolera is there tomatoes. They are always perfectly ripened and taste amazing. Everyone that works there is always so nice and they remember you. If you want good food and a great atmosphere this is the place to go.

We were taken to our seats and left there. After 13 minutes my hubby said 2 more minutes and we leave. Only 5 tables were taken at 5pm nov 5th. A family of 4 came in and were taken care of in 3 minutes so we left

Since I have plenty of time, I thought I'd leave a review. As we sit here after waiting 30 minutes since being seated just to put in our order. I'm sure that I started it when we walked in when they put a 4-top and a 2-top together then added a seat at the end for our group of 7. I explained to them the math. Ever since that point, we waited 15 minutes to be seated, then 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. The margarita glasses that came with the pitcher had some liquid in it and no salt on the rim. They got sent back. Of course the margarita pitcher had something that looked like a bug in it so it got sent back. The waiter (I don't know his name, he never introduced himself) didn't think that having a table of 7, and 2 tables of 6 in the upstairs section to be too much and told me "I got you". Which he clearly didn't. So far I would tell you to stay away from the service alone. If the management decided that they were mad at me refusing the seating they offered and started this entire situation, that would be another reason to stay away. When we got seated at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, I thought the way they dealt with it was a look into what was coming.Food comes and of course there are problems. Management shouldn't let queso get cold. Not 1 but 2. Maybe the waiter drinking a shot with one of the tables of 6 having a birthday party is more important than the service. The food itself wasn't bad, but to put yourself in this kind of a situation would be poor decision.

So, I went in to pick up a take out order about a week ago. As I sat in the front waiting for my order the biggest roach I have ever seen in my entire life made an appearance. It was so big that I thought it was a mouse. All of the employees that were standing by the front desk scattered while screaming. I was so freaked out. One of the men from the back came out with a broom to take care of the roach. I understand that businesses that serve food tend to have bugs, but that is why you invest in an exterminator. This was not a dead roach. This roach was alive and happy to terrorize everyone in the restaurant. If I wasn't so scared I would have gotten a picture.The roach came from the area where people would have been eating. It just so happened to be 40 minutes before closing, so there was not a lot of people on that side. Needless to say, I will not be frequenting this restaurant again, ever!

Good is good, and the cheese dip is fantastic. Always get good service also. Had takeout too, it's always hot & fresh.
