Nice little local restaurant with authentic flavors. My husband is on a pozole quick and has been going every Sunday for a few months, that's how much he loves it. They have all the toppings for it as well.Me and the kids tag along sometimes.I love the self serve topping/hot sauce bar! it's always fresh and cold.I've had tacos, torts, posole, sopes from here and all are fantastic!I've recently discovered their blue corn quesadillas and I'm in food heaven. In the picture is the chiccharon plus added beans today, so good. I will note .... They are big (I usually can only eat half), they are heavy, if you add beans, cilantro, onions . I feel it helps cut the heaviness a little. I hope you make it to eat here soon, it really is a hidden local gem.

A coworker raved about this place stating it was sooo Mexican authentic. From quesabirrias to pambazos to exercising your Spanish language and La Banda YouTube music videos, I had to agree this seemed like the real deal. He said the horchata was delicious so the majority of us got one. For $5 you get like a 24oz cup full and I sipped on it for the rest of the day. To eat, I went from getting tacos to getting oysters and then finally settling on a burrito, a Cachete (beef cheek) burrito. It took awhile for all our food to come out but larger groups were there too and you could tell that they were cooking up a storm in the back. When I got burrito it looked like nothing fancy. Opening it up released the scent of some grandmama's kitchen. So good. There was a good ratio of filling and rice and I liked that. The meat was very tender and soft. It was very satisfying for a lunch entree.Unfortunately I had to take away a star for the simple fact that one of my coworkers asked for chicken wings and got chicken nuggets in the shape of chicken wings. He was so dissatisfied but he ate some. I tried one and it reminded me of the ones you ate in a frozen dinner. I mean, it was under the kids menu though so maybe we shoulda known better.I'd come back. I saw a pic of their oysters and they look amazing!

Why people choose to go to chain restaurants over local places like this, I will never know. Yhe food is fresh and delicious, the staff is nice, the place is busy ..i got there al 11a , when yhey opened and had a stong occupancy already.I dis take out and they did all of it in 10 minutes. Food was so fresh and flavorful and nothing was missing. A couple people said its slow....fine, fresh food takes a little longer and if they are packed, it will delay things a bit. You can do taco bell and get it faster, but then again, its taco bell. Its by wawas in the horbor freight shopping ceter just off southside and beach. If you want the real deal, then try this place. This place is located at the Beach Boulevard Flea Market, very authentic Mexican tacos and Tortas (sandwiches). Awesome food at reasonable prices. Quick service and made to order, seating available and a condiment cart for toppings and sauces.

Finally! Found some comida auténtica...yum. We ordered a la carte, tacos de pollo, and my husband got a side of rice. The flavors aren't WOW but they're definitely tasty. The prices are great, and just the hole-in-the-wall place we've been searching for.

This is the best tacos I have had since Tijuana. Los mejores tacos en Jacksonville. Comparado a tacos de Tijuana.I moved to Jacksonville from California and I approve the tacos here. The tripa tacos (beef tripe) were done just right. Fried and crispy - my favorite. The lengua tacos (beef tongues) were on point too.I liked that they spoke to me in Spanish when I entered. Good chance for me to practice my Spanish. Looked to me like all the customers were Mexicans. The salsa bar had lots of varieties for toppings too

La Michoacana Taqueria y Antojitos Mexicanos is located in a nondescript shopping center and honestly, I have driven by here countless times and had never even noticed this small taqueria. Well, after finally stopping in and trying this fantastic little establishment, I can assure that I shall return.Approaching the business, it is not much to behold, however, those in the know will usually tell you that the best Mexican food is not found in a fancy place, but rather the best Mexican food is found in these hole-in-the-wall type places with interiors that look like they were thrown together with a tight budget. These places might be a little worn and rather a bit bleak, but the food that is created in the kitchen, that is crafted with skill and passion.Walking in I was greeted and as I sat, my server came over and with evident pride went over the menu with me. While the menu was rather straightforward, it also featured items that you might not see on many restaurant menus. I was surprised to see that they had campeche, which is beef cheek. I don't see this in a lot of places, but they had it here. They also had cabeza, which is beef head (a bit more common, but still not very common). If those aren't your cup of tea, they had the more common carne asada (steak), chorizo (Mexican sausage), carnitas (fried pork), pollo (chicken), pastor (marinated pork) and lengua (beef tongue). After the descriptions of the food, I opted for the quesabirria, kind of a cross between a barbacoa quesadilla and a birria taco. This is not on the menu, but it was available and after the server went into such passionate detail, I knew this was what I would go with.It came to me in a relatively quick amount of time. I have to say that it looked great and after stocking up on a few excellent salsas from the salsa bar and dipping the first of the three quesabirrias into both the green and red salsa, as well as the consomme, this was some great eating.Be advised that while the menu items are rather inexpensive, the quesabirria is a bit expensive. It was fifteen dollars after taxes. Add a tip and it was a bit of an expensive lunch. But, again, the menu items are well priced. The tacos are three dollars a piece and a burrito is about eight dollars. Other menu items like quesadillas, tortas and more are somewhere between these two prices.I must say that I am glad that I stumbled upon this place. The service was gracious and professional, the food was exceptional and while the atmosphere was a bit plain, it complimented the whole experience and just made it more akin to dining at a Mexican grandmother's table. If you find yourself in Jacksonville and craving Mexican food, seek this place out. Look for the nondescript shopping plaza with the Harbor Freight Tools as the anchor store and you will find this small taqueria. I am confident you will walk out knowing you had a wonderful dining experience and plotting when you could return here again. It is that good.

As a Mexican I love looking and supporting local business especially ones that serve food from my culture. The prices were pretty ridiculous paid $35 for 2 tacos and 2 Gordita's plus an agua Fresca m which were mediocre at best. The Gordita's were a decent size but for $8 each they were mainly filled with onion and cheese when they're supposed to stuffed with Chicharron(pork) . Won't be back be back here again or recommend it.

Ordered from this restaurant today and I will say this has to be the absolute worst food I've ever seen. Paid $30 for 2 plates for me and my son to receive a scoop of rice cold meat and beans. there should be no excuse to pay that much for shitty quality food. I called the restaurant and told it's not their fault. Don't recommend this place at all.
