The menu boasts a symphony of flavors that tantalize the taste buds with each dish. One standout recommendation is the shrimp Crepes, a harmonious blend of mushroom, spinach, and artichoke hearts, creating a savory sensation that delights the senses. For lunch, the blackened shrimp paired with yucca Al mojo and black beans is a symphony of flavors that ignites a warm, happy feeling with every bite. The chicken empanadas, accompanied by chimichurri, are another highlight, showcasing the chef's skillful mastery of traditional Colombian cuisine. To culminate the culinary journey, indulging in the banana bread and Dulce de leche pastelito is an absolute must. You can bring your dog and sit outside. There are 2 outside two outside tables and grass near by. The Spanish product stand is next door and at Christmas they have Mexican tamales. This establishment is Colombian so the empanadas are made of corn not flour. They come with a wonderfully flavorful salsa to put inside as you are eating them. They are only $2.69 each.

Awesome little bistro came in for coffee since I have driven by so many times. Ordered a capuccino with an add shot, wanted a croissant breakfast but they were out of croissants and it would be a 30min wait for fresh ones. So I went with the calentado paisa that came with rice & beans, a huge sausage, an arepa with a lot of cheese and eggs. For $11 . The passion fruit juice was great! I slurped it in less than 5 min coffee was good too. Excellent friendly customer service! Thank you! Me and my girls will be back!

Lunch at La Cocina Bistro. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant (easier to park back there rather than in the front). The bakery is located at the front of the building facing S Dixie Highway- they also have a restaurant that you enter through the door facing the driveway. We had lunch at their bakery. They have several restaurants around town - this is their newest. Will run their catering out of this location. Wife had the pulled pork wrap which came with a side of potato salad. Very good. This is a Colombian style restaurant so their pulled pork has some different ingredients- this is not the Southern BBQ pulled pork. I had their smoked rotisserie Chicken- it's a half of a chicken- nice crispy skin. It came with potato salad and some plantains. Yummy. PFor dessert we shared a passion fruit tart (yummy). Christina took excellent care of us- explained the menu and was there if we needed anything. They bake their own breads and dessert items - all for sale in the bakery. Plus have a number of different empanadas (look interesting- need to try these next time).

Quiet little bakery/restaurant off of Dixie Hwy in St Augustine. I've driven by this place every morning and always tell myself I'm going to stop in and check it out. Today, I finally did, and it was as good as I imagined it to be. Okay, let me first tell you that parking is atrocious out front! You have to either pull in directly to a parking spot from the road (which means you have to wait forever to back out without hitting another traveling vehicle from either direction, or you have to back in (preferred) but you have to (again) wait for traffic to clear long enough for you to do so! Once you've played "two-lane, 20-point turn" to get into a parking spot, the rest is downhill (so to speak). By deductive reasoning, you have to find the door that gets you to the actual restaurant/bakery entrance (there's a couple of black doors with no signs on them). Once inside, you will be marveled by the sights and smells of a Columbian bakery! From hot and fresh beef empanadas to the Dulce de Leche bread rings, you are sure to find a tantalizing treat (or more) readily available for your tasting pleasure! The pastries are freshly baked and oh, so yummy! I highly recommend the guava and cheese pastry! It's flaky crust is just enough crunch, and the filling has just the right amount of sweetness to get your mouth watering! I was a little disappointed that breakfast service stopped about an hour before I came in (breakfast stops at 11:00am), but the beef empanada I selected was perfectly portioned to settle my growling gut! They even threw in a nice little cup of salsa to drown my empanada in (and it.was.good!). The young lady behind the counter was very polite and very helpful. I didn't see any other employees/folks working (which I'm sure they're in the back keeping their tasty awesomeness secrets under wraps!). All in all, La Cocina has something to offer every pallet, whether you're in the mood for sweet or savory! Go check them out and be the judge for yourself, but I can guess that most folks won't be disappointed!
