We were in the Green Cove area visiting family and they asked if we've been there before; we said no... I thought the staff were very friendly and did a great job taking care of us! Love how the restaurant was decorated as well as the grocery store next to the restaurant. I got the enchiladas and they were good! The beef enchiladas had the most flavor. The other two enchiladas were sort of bland. My wife got the burrito and she said it was very good! Funny; she never finishes all her meals at most places we go but today she finished all of it. Feels weird for us to leave a restaurant without a to go box. We definitely would come back here if we're in the area.

Top notch. Girlfriend had the shrimp tacos and I had the chicken chimichangas. When I happen to be in Green Cove, this is the only place I care to eat at.

Great portion size! & delicious food. The burrito was soooo good, I got ground beef and it was really flavorful. I went back and forth on small or medium for the burrito and landed on a small- it was plenty big! I probably could have added on a side. My husbands enchiladas were tasty. The chicken had great seasoning & he loved the rice and beans.

Stopped off here to grab lunch while in the area. I read the reviews and was really hoping for something a little different and more tasty than most of the Mexican restaurants in the area. I guess maybe I'm just picky, but I was not impressed. The restaurant also has a little shop selling all kinds of things from spices to quilts as you walk in. If you're looking for a Spanish spice, this would be the place to come for sure. Dining area is very simple, and decorated with pretty plants and pottery from Mexico. Although we were only one of a few guests, we did not get chips and salsa as others did. We did ask and they brought it out, but other tables were seated and given it right away. Not sure why? Drinks were quick to come out, but then our server disappeared for several minutes before coming to take our order.I decided to try the combo fajitas. That would give me the opportunity to try the different meats, shrimp, and the rice and beans. I was a bit shocked when my platter had two pieces of shrimp, and not much more of the beef and chicken. I guess I'm used to them piling on the goodies, but it was enough to make two fajitas. Tortillas were served nice and hot. Onions and peppers were very good. Beef had an odd spice on it, and I couldn't place it. It wasn't bad, but I didn't care for it much.Rice and beans were not good. So bland, even with added salt. The guacamole tasted metallic, like it came out of a container. It did not taste, (nor look), freshly made at all. The lettuce was brown on the edges as well, and it did not look appetizing. My sister had the pollo fundito and she enjoyed it. Maybe I just picked the wrong entree? Not sure. Also not sure I'll be back to try anything else. Staff was very friendly and it seemed as if they have a lot of regulars for take-out orders.

If you're looking for the best Mexican food short of getting on flight to Mexico make sure you visit La Casita in Green Cove Springs. Truth be told I'm not big on Mexican fare but their food is delectable. They have an expansive menu and each item is top notch and freshly made. The service is fairly attentive but could be better. If you're looking for ambiance you won't find it here which is too bad. It's somewhat of a small grocery store when you walk in selling everything from Mexican spices to Dove deodorant but don't let the odd eclectic setup fool you.

Great local business in the heart of our small town. Wonderful staff with great attention to detail. The food is the best around and authentic. The interior is really cool with a quiet dinner vibe. Support local and swing by la Casita next time you're near. It will be so worth it!

I have ordered from here in the past with no problems, however, how they are forcing me to order more food than what I can eat. Almost all Mexican restaurants have a la carte menus, but I was forced to get 3 tacos instead of 2. This also forces me to pay more! Which is probably the reason. I also asked to take some off, but when I asked for a replacement option, I was charged 2.50! Wow! I spent over $19 for lunch! That is a dinner price. I will not be visiting here again!
