This was really a 2.5. This was mediocre but nothing out of this world. My husband got the bulgogi fries and lumpia and I got the musabi trio with a entree plate. I was disappointed that we order different types of musabi but only got 3 spam. The bulgogi fries were not worth the $11. We got barely any toppings for the mountain of fries. I would give the lumpia a 10/10. We also chose to eat in and we had a horrible time with kids that were just hanging out and acting horrible. I wouldn't not recomend this but I would also say if you have been to Hawaii you would be disappointed.

My first reaction was a one star. The guy who took my order was on the phone and wanted me to order while he was on the personal call. He didn't have the menu on the tv or out on paper so I had to ask for the menu then he turned on the tv. I just felt like I was a bother. Then I sat down to wait on my food and all the tables were dirty as well as the floor. But the saving grace was the food. The macaroni Salad is the absolute best. The spam was perfect.

We were pretty happy to try this place since we've vacationed in Hawaii before and it's been difficult to get a taste in Jacksonville. This is a small restaurant located in a plaza on Baymeadows. You can easily miss it if you aren't looking for it. There is a small dining area inside. It seems to be family owned and operated. They need to implement some sort of pest control system as there were a few flies in the dining area. There were a few women at the counter ready to help take our order. There are pictures of some of the menu items on the video menu which is pretty helpful. The food that we ordered was made and brought out to us pretty quickly. We tried the BBQ Mix plate, Spam Musubi, and Saimin with BBQ beef. IT was all pretty good. The BBQ mixed plate included BBQ beef, BBQ chicken, and BBQ short ribs and a side of mac salad and rice. It was a decent portion of food. I think the BBQ short ribs are the same or similar to kalbi and they were a little fattier than meaty but the flavor was good. The saimin was good. The broth is nice and light but a little salty for my taste. The Spam musubi was pretty basic but tasted on point.Overall, it was an okay dining experience. I might order from here again but I'd probably get take out.*sorry, I forgot to take pictures for this one

I've been wanting to go here for so long. I went with some coworkers, and we all thought it was delicious! I got the seafood combo plate with chicken and added a chicken katsu musubi! The food came out quickly, and the man at the counter was friendly. The location is small, but the food makes it all worth it. It was nice having Hawaiian music playing in the background. It made me feel like I was back in Hawaii again. I will be back!

L&L Hawai'i is a chain of restaurants that first opened in 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii and has since spread here to the mainland of the United States. They offer a great menu centered around what is considered quick style food in Hawaii and do a pretty good job of offering some wonderful flavor in a fast amount of time at a good price point.Since I an trying to drop a few pounds since I went a bit iverboard over the holidays, I opted to go with the kalua pork over cabbage, which the menu stated had only 430 calories. My food was brought out to me pretty fast and I added some sriracha sauce for a bit of a kick. As for the price, it came in at just under ten dollars, nine dollars and some odd cents. I have to say that the kalua pork was definitely a tasty (and healthy) choice. Maybe if I am looking foe an indulgence the next time, I will try the Hawaiin lunch classic loco moco, which is a couple of burgers over rice with brown gravy and over easy eggs. It sounds great, but the calories ranged between 600 and 1440 calories. Not this time (but soon). All in all, L&L Hawai'i is a great choice for lunch if you are on the southside of Jacksonville and looking for a great meal. I will give it five stars overall.

After vacationing in Hawaii, this is the only place to that can settle that my family's craving for island bbq. Upon entering, you hear Hawaiian music and an "aloha" from the staff. The decor is simple but clean (I honestly did not check the bathroom though). The menu is nothing fancy but food is delicious! Can't go wrong with anything you choose. My family's favorites are: the BBQ mixed plate, BBQ chicken, BBQ ribs and kalua pork. If you do order malasadas, you MUST eat it while it is still hot! Order those separately if dining in and order after you're done with your meal.

I usually come to this location once every few months. Today was craving the beef plate and some spam masubi. I drove across town and I did get there 20 minutes before close. So I know I was cutting it close. I go in and guy behind the counter barely greeted. Understandable, it's late. I ordered my food and they guy asked if I had cash to pay cause he already shut down the system. I told him no, but he still allowed me to pay anyways. Food comes and the person in the kitchen slams it down on the kitchen window pretty hard that the closed lid flies open. Okay they are a little upset. I drive home and eat. The macaroni salad is dry and tastes sour, so I only had one bite. They gave me a lot of beef which was nice, but I did find a hair in it...so I stopped eating after. I tipped well since I know I was coming in pretty late and for the last minute trouble. But the food wasn't worth it.

My grandma and I decided to go out to eat and I have been wanting to try this place out. I showed some photos of the food to my grandma and she said the food looks good, so we went here. The place is small, nice atmosphere, clean, and the owner is super sweet. My grandma ordered the garlic shrimp and I ordered the grill mix with some malasadas. The grill mix was great! Out of the three meat, to my surprised, I like the chicken the most compared to the kalbi and beef. The macaroni was amazing! It really complimented the meat and rice when eaten together! What a great combo! My grandma enjoyed the garlic shrimp and macaroni as well. I had a taste of the garlic shrimp and thought it was delicious! The malasadas, oh man! Yummy in my tummy, deliciousness heaven, happy like abug in a rug feeling. They were simply phenomenal! So freaking good! The best malasadas in town! Definitely know where to go now when I want some! Overall, my grandma and I enjoyed our visit and will come back again. There are still some items in the menu that I would love to try like their musubi!

I was excited to try L &L having heard good things about it, and how yummy is rice and grilled meats! We went up there and ordered Togo. Got the chicken katsu and the mixed grill, also a Hawaiian juice that was delicious! everything was ready in about 10 minutes, took it home to dig in.My first impression opening the box was oh this looks so unhealthy:( it was the 3 grilled meats a scoop of white rice, a scoop of macaroni salad...it was so white with no attempt at any veggies or color added. Now I will say everything tasted pretty good, love the grilled teriyaki chicken thighs, rice was cooked good, the Mac salad was very basic and slathered in mayo. The chicken katsu was very yummy! Crispy and great portion.I think for me a veggie lover it just wasn't my cup of tea, there is a Hawaiian food truck that has my heart.
