L & D BBQ and More

I ran across this truck as I was working and figured I would try it out! I had never heard about it and I thought maybe Mark has missed this one but I should have known better! ;) It's southern BBQ, with ribs, pulled pork, chicken, fried fish and shrimp...with the classic southern sides...Mac n cheese, collard greens, fries, ect.I got the pulled pork with Mac n cheese and collard greens....and hey it was good! I really liked the pulled pork, moist and didn't need to be drenched in the BBQ sauce they gave on the side, seemed to be seasoned really good like they put on a rub after they shredded the meat(?) instead of just seasoning the outside. The sides were pretty standard the greens were vinegar goodness and I kept going back for more.This was definitely nothing fancy but it was just good food, I would get the pulled pork again.I tried my friends fish and shrimp and it was also good, nice light batter.

I saw theses guys on Facebook and thought that I have to give them a shot. Everyone here knows if it's a food truck I'm there. Well these are 2 retired Navy guys who can cook some serous Q. On this trip Larry (the L) recommended the special of the day Shrimp and Fish with mac n cheese and some beans. Well I'll start with the fish. It was cooked just right with a nice soft inside and a good crunch on the outside. The shrimp were perfectly fired all but one. The next to last one didn't pull out of the tail shell like it should. Both the fish and shrimp had a sweet breading with some subtle seasoning. The mac n cheese was just like somebody else's Mom cooked them. Mine couldn't cook so that's why I'm good at it now. Cause if I wanted a good meal I had to cook it. Now for the beans they were beans and nothing really special. Maybe my Mom cooked theses. All in all a good meal at a decent price. Now you can get a good snack while at the Farmer's Market.
