It was Neighborhood Food Truck Thursday. The JoyShtick Food Truck came by. We decided to give it a try and so glad we did. We ordered the following...Spicy Meme (5/5): If your looking for a flavorful burger with a nice, spicy kick, then this is the burger to get. The pickled jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and sriracha mayo makes for a great trio that complimented this heavenly burger. I would get this over, and over, and over again. Delicious!!! One tip...order this burger with Bacon.Teemo Special (5/5): It's basically a plain cheeseburger. My picky eater son ordered this and all I can say is he cannot stop talking about how delicious his burger was, even to the side of seasoned fries that the burger came with. He was already asking when the truck will stop by again. Enough said.Angry Birds (3/5): Fried Chicken Breast Strips breaded with crushed Cool Ranch Doritos. I wanted to love it and was curious about how it would taste, but all in all, it just didn't do it for me. The strips were on the dry side. It was just Meh.Fire Flower (3/5): Buffalo sauced Fried Cauliflower, drizzled with Ranch. It was just okay to me, I guess it was because the Buffalo sauce overpowered just about every taste and bite.My conclusion, delicious burgers and fries here. The others is TBD. On my next visit, I will give the other burger items a try IF (big IF)...if I can get pass from not ordering the Spicy Meme again. And when I do, I will update this review.Game On!!!

I had the pleasure of trying JoyShtick Food Truck in April when they came to my neighborhood. I ordered the Spicy Meme which included a 1/3 pound hamburger with pickled jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and sriracha mayo. Wow! What a combo! I am a spicy "feen" and I loved the bite that came with this burger! The burger size was just right as I was satisfied but not stuffed. The burger was cooked nicely so the meat was tender and moist. The staff were friendly and helpful as I always want to know the most popular items on the menu before placing my order. The wait was short and the price was right. I have to also say I loved the truck theme, "80's video games." It took me back to my childhood for a moment. I hope to see this truck back in my neighborhood soon!

Have u ever sat back and thought, "This pepperoni pizza is awesome but it needs something more, how about some meatballs? Nah, lets do a meat patty then roll it up or better yet, this thing needs to be in a sandwhich, nae, a burger"...yup, me either and if you have then id double check the expiration date on that yogurt you had this morning. But somebody had that "expired yogurt" (feel free to replace quotes with ur words of choice) and apparently i must've drank some _____ (im making this review into a mad libs so enter your own words here to complete the sentence), else i wouldnt have decided that it was interesting enough to try and i wouldnt have anything to write about. Honestly it was the only burger on their menu that didnt have a picture on yelp so i made it a life goal. To my surprise, this thing works. The burger patty itself was well seasoned, these guys know their way around a burger. That thought helped my system accept the overall notion of what i had in my hand. Likewise, the fries were really good and well salted, nothing i hate more than a tasteless soggy fry. If i were to pick one thing on this specific burger that could use improvement is the fact that its dry. I mean the burger patty is juicy but the burger bun, pepperoni and breading on the mozzarella sticks soaked that up pretty quickly. If you guys from the truck are reading this, my suggestion is either more maranara or put the maranara between the pepperoni and the patty instead of directly on the bun. I'll definitely be on the lookout for this truck next time it comes around work.

When you're hungry for a food truck and Jax Truckies says there's one nearby, there's no resisting the urge especially if you've now become the official food truck food runner. I actually overlooked this one a few times because it wasn't unique enough for me, that and the fact I had given up burgers. Luckily they had posted online that they accommodate for non-bun eaters so the decision this day was final. So off I went.A coworker wanted the Finish Him wrap with buffalo sauce while I got the Bowser Breakfast burger without the bun. I've never seen the trick up close so I thought it was cool that you can play video games while you waited for your order. I'm no good at Super Mario Bros so I just watch. I got our orders and headed back to the office. My coworker was surprised by the size of her wrap, so much so that she split it with our supervisor and both agreed that it was amazing. My burger was on a bed of arugula with sriracha drizzled on top of the fried egg and the maple syrup underneath. I had to knife and fork it but it was so worth the fancy lunch etiquette. I think I stuck my pinky out while cutting pieces off hahaha. I'll never second guess this truck again.

Excellent. The fries have a nice texture, with the right amount of crisp. The bun is soft and supportive, but is also very lightly toasted I think. The patty is thick and juicy, good umami. The bacon is also thick. The lettuce seems to be romaine instead of iceberg, which is good. There's quite a bit of mustard, which I also like. They have a strong nerdy/video game theme where most of their menu items are video game references. Of course, the real draw is that there's a TV embedded into the side of their truck that you can play Super Mario World on while waiting for your food.

This truck is classic video game themed and has an awesome sounding menu! Unfortunately, the actual flavor didnt measure up to the great descriptions, but isnt that kind of the way classic video games are?We ordered the Finish Him! and The Bowser Breakfast burger. The Finish Him is a wrap that has chicken breast strips that use Cool Ranch Doritos as the breading...sounded amazing, but had zero flavor, I was so disappointed. I will say that it is a really big portion with lots of chicken, but since it was flavorless, it wasnt that appealing. The burger, however, was super tasty. The combination of siracha and maple syrup is a flavor winner! They also had a video gaming screen for walk ups to play, so that was a bonus treat.

Cut the shtick and cue the JoyShtick, because there's a new player in town. Not that Jax needs more food trucks to frantically flag down, but as long as they're knocking out good eats, my chips are ALL IN.JoyShtick's grand opening in the TacoLu parking lot was a huge success. Personally, I absolutely loved seeing a line of supportive locals giving them a shot on their first day. What you need to know: This is a video-game-themed food truck. You'll see menu items referencing "Master Chief," "Pac Mac," etc. In addition to naming menu items, you can actually play video games that are hooked up to the food truck! How freakin' cool?Master Chief - Ground chuck/bacon patty on Cinotti's roll w/ pepper jelly & Pac Mac. This meaty beast was delish! Seriously, I'm having fevered dreams of the soft roll, creamy mac and perfectly cooked meat. But that pepper jelly tied the whole concoction together. Flag 'em down, play a video game, and tell the world about this unique combination of fun meets food. Keep it up, JoyShtick!

TLDR: Ok food, but not great for the price. Fries are pretty good.Face invader burger: The burger patty itself was pretty bland. Pepper jelly was really good, but not very much of it on the burger. Fire flowers: I expected them to be breaded, but they were just fried. Kinda soggy. Absolutely drowning in buffalo sauce. Not a fan. No blue cheese...Angry birds: Chicken was on the dry side. Very thin breading. I could not taste the Dorito flavor at all.Senpai fries: This is my favorite thing they had. Fries were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Sauce is like a hibachi style shrimp sauce.Truck itself: Not a fan of the borderline cringey gamer theme. Video game names, hipster staff, and Harambe stickers. Guess it works for them, but I'd prefer they touch up their culinary game instead.

Really cool food truck! I love that you can play Nintendo while you are waiting for your food. Their fries are very good, they are crispy and have a good flavor. I had the Face Invader it was the best burger we ordered! I ordered with a group of people and we all three got different burgers so we could try more things, all of the burgers were cooked medium well which was a little over done for me. The burgers don't look super impressive but they all packed a flavorful punch.
