I was looking forward to going to the Greek Festival, what I didn't expect was a monsoon. We wound up heading to the Greek Festival on Saturday. I know they were planning on having outdoor seating, but due to the weather, this was not an option. So what was my plan? Get in line, don my mask, and grab my food to go.Prior to entering the church hall there were several people sitting outside with dishes premade, so those unfamiliar with Greek food could ask questions/decide what they wanted to eat.We entered the hall and you start at the pastries. It was set up like a cafeteria line, you choose what you want, put it on your tray, and then check out.I wound up getting two different types of traditional Greek cookies, pastitio which is like Greek lasagna, french fries for my kiddo, and some loukoumades.Check out was relatively standard, you tell the person working the register what you have, they ring you up accordingly. I will say due to the crappy weather outside it was packed inside. We checked out and headed back to the car to dig into our food. First things first, if you get hot loukoumades, you eat them ASAP. They were like pillows of fried sweet goodness.Next I dug into my pastitio. It was very good. The bechamel was rich and creamy, the lamb and sauce were robust, and the noodles were perfectly cooked.Even though I was full, I had to have one of my cookies: finikia. They were delicious and the combination of walnuts, orange, and spices were top notch.Pros:-Prices were reasonable-Food was delicious-Staff/volunteers were friendlyCons:-Not many people wearing masks-Super crowded-Parking on the grass was a little gnarly (what can i say, I don't like parking in grass when it's been raining all day)Tips: If your kiddo doesn't like Greek food, be sure to have them eat prior to the event.

I was excited to get a heads up on this event, having lived 10 minutes from Tarpon Springs for 25 years, I LOVE Greek food. Years ago- the party-tastic Debbie F invited me to Greek Fest (at another location) and I was hooked. Freshly made food, lively music and dancing, craft tables and more. There is a huge pavilion that houses the stage, plenty of tables, the bar run by Taverna and a kitchen with pitas and other foods. Inside the hall you will find different sections for retail, hot food like grape leaves and spanikopita and more and another section for the bakery. There was also another bar/drink station out front selling beverages. And you can tour the church. I was there for the food and flying solo- so I was in and out pretty quickly. I inhaled a gyro from the pavilion kitchen and went into the hall to scoop up several spanikopita. They didn't have a lot available when I went in, so 5 boxes of one of my favorite foods was all I got and here we are, Monday- and I am out. Insert sad face. I would have bought more and froze it- but I wasn't waiting around. Next year. I also hit up the bakery and left with cookies and donuts. Staff directed you for parking and everyone I encountered was wonderful.

This is one of my look forward to events of the year. Whenever I attend the music and performers just take me away to a different land. To truly understand its beauty, you must experience it. I have fond memories of dancing with my grandson around a circle with the other dancers in their traditional attire. The food is always fabulous and all the desserts especoally Kok is so delicious. Oh and they sure know how to throw a Happy Hour! I'm a Orzo drinker. I like the taste of licorice and they have a lemon mojito orzo that is really too good. The volunteers work hard and want to make sure everyone has a good time and a good time is what I alway's have! OPA!

SO MUCH FUN!!!They had great food, church tours, vendors, raffles, live music, dancing, and so much more! Fun for the whole family. We came this year on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a bit rainy so everything was moved in doors. Sunday was beautiful so we got to enjoy the courtyard outside. We loved the food, we tried lots of desserts and a few of the main dishes, including pastitsio, gyro sandwich, and souvlaki sandwich (both pork and chicken). Everyone was so friendly and the campus was beautifully decorated. The food was amazing and the portions were great, and really good prices. We are definitely looking forward to coming again next year.

Festivals that celebrate a country's culture are our favorite. We had a feast and it was an explosion of authentic flavors. Our favorites were the gyro, chicken souvlaki, and pastitio. We devoured all of the desserts which had just the right amount of sweetness. The church was beautiful and we enjoyed the performances. Will make sure to stop by again next year.

The food and atmosphere was fantastic but don't sign up for a 250.00 gift card from Public. These tablet stations were set up as you walked in. Vacation Village will text and call you. They will tell you the 250.00 card comes with a vacation package. When they realize you're not interested in going to a 90 min Orlando vacation selling lecture etc they crumble paper and hang up on you. She was so sweet til that Very surprised the church let them set up that deception scheme. Extremely annoying and a waste of time.
