My husband and I had some of the best Jamaican food from this place right here!!!!!! Everything was seasoned to the T!!!!! I had the stewed chicken with rice and peas and cabbage ...it was moist and full of flavor. My husband had the oxtails with the same side the meat was so tender...... I wish they had beef Patties tho lol

Found this place on Yelp and decided to try. Upon arrival I saw the sign that said they do not accept credit, so I had to go to the bank and get cash. I ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken, both large. They came with rice and peas and cabbage. The food was delicious and had good portions of everything!

Went there on Tuesday and ordered a large jerk chicken. Not busy at all around 12/12:30 p.m. The owner was very polite and knowledgeable. The large portion was about 1 leg/ thigh quarter and maybe a leg or a thigh (3 pieces) cut in chunks. It was about 2-3 cups of rice n peas and a 1/2 cup steamed cabbage. Such small portion of chicken for $19.00. I've noticed that there are rarely any authentic Jamaican cuisine restaurants that specialize in true jerk chicken, plantains, and freshly made Jamaican beverages such as sorrel, carrot juice, etc. many place skimp out in the chicken and load you up on rice and cabbage. The chicken has a lot of joint cartilage and bones thereby reducing the satisfaction of quality enjoyable protein. It's been disappointing here in Jacksonville. I guess I have to revisit Miami where it is a nonnegotiable to serve authentic Jamaican cuisine

Wha Gwaan! This is a taste of Jamaica right here in Jacksonville. Chef David is amazing. You will not find better Jamaican food anywhere other than THE ROCK. We had Escovitch Parrot Fish (all fish is fresh and made to order but trust me it is worth the 20 minute wait) with rice and peas (not red peas we are talking real Gungu Peas) cabbage that will make your mouth water, fried Plantains, calaloo and of course you can't have real Jamaican food without a Red Stripe Beer. Listen I have had Jamaican food in many states and in Jamaica and few come close to the fine food David makes at Jamrock. I also forgot to mention that it is called JAMROCK for a reason. Friday and Saturday nights he has a DJ and turns the place into a Jamaican Dancehall. If you want the real deal this is where you get your meal!!!

My husband and I decided to stop on the way from the airport after arriving from the DC area. Dave the owner was accommodating, and the food was amazing. I had the Stew Beef with white rice and my husband had Curried Shrimp with Rice & Peas. Both came with cabbage which was really well seasoned- not just steamed. The rice and peas was cooked with coconut milk and was absolutely delicious. Portions were large but so good that we both finished all. This place is a Jacksonville gem
