This is an awesome event and it's free! I am glad I made it out this year. Since it alternates between the beach and base, I recommend checking out both since they are definitely different experiences. Either way, be prepared for crazy traffic at shows completion.Highlight for me: The Blue Angels. I brought those little squishy ear plugs and was happy I did.

Came to see the Blue Angels and it was definitely worth the trek;)They certainly did not disappoint...amazing talent, incredible show!Plenty to do for the kids:Huge inflatable obstacle course/ slideRock climbing wallAirbrush tattoosGiant pin ballSimulator/ arcade roomAll FREE in the kids zone, located in the parking lot across the street from the Pier. Tip: cannot bring food or drink into kids zone but they do have food and beer stands inside the kids zone. We arrived around 1pm, plenty of time to enjoy some of the other demonstrators and for the kids to have fun before the Blue Angels made their entrance at 2:30.

The Blue Angels strike again!Such a cool event. The planes zipping through the sky was insanely cool! To make things even better, it was a gorgeous day out. Not a single cloud in the sky, perfect day! Tons of families and kids running around. This was a delight for people of all ages.

You already know.... getting to the Sea and Sky Spectacular is an adventure on it's own. Be prepared to park miles away, or, just do what we did, and got lucky and found a spot a few blocks down and sent straight to the beach. And still, it's gonna be seriously crowded. If headed to the beach, bring your beachy essentials: Blankets, sunscreen, beach tent or umbrella, and some water. After you secure a spot, it's smooth sailing (or flying) from there and it was super cool watching these amazing planes soar to levels doing twists the whole way up, creating smoke clouds in the shape of hearts, barely missing each other with close fly-bys, and a little fun with flying close to ships on the ocean. Definitely worth checking out if you are a plane lover, or thrill "watcher!"

JAX's Sea and Sky Spectacular is one of the best shows around! I came to see the Blue Angels and they never fail to disappoint. A fantastic free event with plenty of food trucks and tons of people! I had the opportunity to get some great pictures of some of the low passes by the Blue Angels right over the water.

Fantastic show! This was my very first air show. It didn't disappoint. Being at the beaches this year has made this a great way to spend the afternoon for families of all ages. There were a bunch of planes that did tricks, from old to new, but the blue angels were rightfully the main attraction. Those F-18 Hornets got my adrenaline pumping as they passed by. It was loud and they got close enough that I felt the vibrations from those awesome machines. If you have sensitive ears, bring ear plugs. Best thing, this show is free! Definitely in my top 3 best free shows I've attended. If you make an effort to come, it's almost impossible to get a bad view.

Growing up with a dad who is a pilot, I went to my fair share of air shows. However, I never appreciated them like I wish I had and was glad to finally get an opportunity to attend one as an adult. This show was absolutely amazing! We ended up not going until 1:30 (it started at 10:00) and somehow managed to get lucky and find parking only a couple blocks from the beach. Plan accordingly. You can rather sit on the beach (make sure to bring chairs or a blanket) or you can go to the Sea Walk Pavilion and sit on the bleachers. I would recommend the beach, the view is better. The crowd is pretty big and traffic is a bit of a nightmare. We left a few minutes before the Blue Angels finished and luckily missed majority of the traffic. If you do not have to rush out, plan to stick around the beach area and grab lunch somewhere and wait out the traffic. If you are in the area, I highly recommend attending this event. It was absolutely amazing! Oh- and FREE!
