I went to this library for "Toddler Takeover" time I saw online. I have an 8 month old and he loved it! The childrens area is spectacular and they layed out plenty of toys for everyone. The staff is very friendly and the whole place is clean. I'll be going again for sure!

The library was a great spot that we used for a photo shoot location. I never thought about using the space for taking photos but it worked out well. There was plenty of parking. The room was large enough for 35 women and the staff was very accommodating. We had a great time.

I have been coming to this branch to tutor for the past four months and the staff here is incredibly helpful. They are monitoring COVID guidelines and cleaning areas as soon as library patrons leave an area. Keep up the good work, the community really benefits from having this branch open and available.

This is a great library. I mostly read ebooks, but every now and then, there's a book I want to read that's not in ebook format or there's a book I think may not be all that great so I don't want to purchase it, so I come here. Generally the books are newer and aren't on the shelves, so I have to request it to either be sent from another library or to be put on the waiting list. I've never had to wait more than a week to get a book and it's nice that I get an email letting me know it's arrived at the library. When I go by to pick it up, they have an area where they keep reserved items, so I can just grab it and check it out myself. Yes, they have self check-outs here. Pretty cool system. You can check out your own books, DVDs, and CDs yourself. You just need your library card and your pin number. Scan the item/items and it prints out a receipt to let you know the return date. Voila... done! They also have a very extensive selection of DVDs and CDs here. Surprisingly enough, they have newer DVDs and CDs. If you're looking for something in particular and they don't have it, you can request it from another library just like you can a book. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get a DVD. I requested Taxi Driver (we'd never watched it) and it was there for me in 2 days. I requested the first season of Downton Abbey at the same time (this was about 3 weeks ago) and I'm still waiting for it. Must be a long list for that one. It will come in time though. =) The librarians who work here have all been very friendly and helpful. They are more than willing to look things up for me and help me find things. I even lost my library card once and they had it replaced within a matter of minutes. The library is really open and clean. There are computers w/ internet access for patrons to use. Every time I've been in, every single computer has been occupied. I have my own computer at home, so I've never inquired about how long the wait is to get on one or what the time limit is. But, they are available. I only wish the library had longer hours. Once upon a time ago they did. I guess the City of Jax cut own on the budget? I have no idea, but the hours have shortened drastically. My hubby took a photo of their current posted hours back in May when we were there.... you can view it here: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jacksonville-public-library-charles-webb-wesconnett-regional-jacksonville?select=YGdpMP8KCOppn0rxS7cccw#E_tOhOwyag-k7X_qilEuMgGreat library. I'm glad we have a really good one so close to home!

This library is the closest one to where we live, so when we need a library for whatever reason this is the one we use. We mostly use this library to rent some of the many DVDs they have and occasionally will check out a book if for some odd reason it isn't released in the e-book format.... The employees are very helpful and friendly and will help whenever you're in need of assistance. The library is kept clean and orderly and for the most part the shelves are stocked with numerous books from you're favorite author. We will definitely return in the future.

What's to say? This is an over crowded, under staffed, with limited hours, rarely have what I'm looking for library. At least it's air conditioned! I know, I'm hard to please :)

I have been going to this library since grade school. It used to be my childhood sanctuary and is pretty near and dear to my heart. Even to this day, I still frequent the library. It bothers me that budget cuts continually threaten the livelihood of public libraries, but that's another issue. Like most other libraries, the Wesconnett has limited hours, so it's best to check jpl.coj.net for their hours of operation. This library has gone through a couple of renovations over the years and the improvements are so awesome. They have two study/conference rooms in addition to a large meeting room, that you can reserve. There are plenty of desk space and plugs to keep me happy. In addition, they recently added more desks with plugs to accommodate more people who need work stations. Of course there are computer stations throughout the library; adult, teen, and children section. There's even a new computer lab-esque area that's designated for continued education(?) I will inquire about this the next time I visit. The magazines section are near the big window panes. I think it was a smart decision to move the magazine/media section to that area because of all the natural lighting. There are several tables near there as well. I only wish those tables had access to plugs. That would make this library a 5 in my book.

This is my first review of a public library. I've passed this particular library several times and have always been curious about it. There is a decent amount of parking out front and around the side, however I couldn't help but notice how the lot was almost full! That's a good sign if you ask me. Once inside you are greeted with the information desk on your right and a large bank of computers on the left. There are plenty of large tables and several rooms to study or read. I was here for an information session on termites hosted by UF IFAS. I was surprised how large the meeting room was and how many people showed up to learn about this dreadful insect blitzing our communities. The library staff were friendly and helpful and directed me to the correct meeting room. The four star review is primarily due to how the building design is older and has an dated feeling about it. On my way out I noticed how large and spacious the inside is and also how full the library was even at 7 pm on a Monday! What a place to gather. We're lucky to have this library in our community.

On the bright side food is allowed here. Cell phones can be charged here. The building and everyone in it is secured. The staff members that visitors must daily contact are friendly and helpful. I was allowed to study without anymore interruptions. :-)On the other side, the number of study rooms are finite, and most study rooms are full. There aren't enough places to be able to study quietly within the library. What was most disconcerting about the experience here came from an encounter with the library administrative member. I was quietly and tentatively studying in a reserved study room when someone was repeatedly knocking on the door. It was pretty disruptive since my study session was being audio recorded, so each time recordings are reviewed the studier will always be reminded of the knocking. The administrative member unlocked the door to tell me that the door has to stay unlocked. She did not tell me that earlier. No rule about the doors was posted anywhere on or near the study rooms. None of the staff members that daily interact with customers were informed of this. Police felt inclined to throw his weight around and move back and forth past the study rooms. I explained to the lady that unlocked the study room door that I am recording so I can hear each time someone comes into the study room or knocks. To which she replied that I stop recording to let the temperature check be done. What an inconsiderate thing to say. Why was it necessary for police to come by?! Other people using study rooms did not have this same experience. Someone came into another study room to turn on the lights and to explain that by law lights must be on while someone is in the study room, but she was not visited by police. She did not notice police walking by the study room at whatever time she was confronted about the lights. It appears as though someone is being singled out.
