Oh my gosh the cutest/ coolest/ fun pottery shop! I attended for their grand opening, which was so fun, they were offering quick hand thrown classes, painting magnets, pinch pots, vendors, sangria truck! SO fun! So I'm gonna book a Sip N Spin class soon, you come and bring your own beverages and get to make a few things on the wheel, I'm already planning on making pots for plants! lol! Everyone working very nice too!

Wow! I have a new found appreciation for pottery makers! The instructions given were great but this is a hard thing to do! Three of us sis a sip and spin Saturday class. The space is big and inviting- they even have plastic cups and a wine bottle opener if needed. Once you start throwing the clay- not much drinking can happen- as your hands are filthy ;)It is a fun thing to try but I didn't have any skills. I do recommend giving it a try. If only Patrick Swayze made an appearance...

I made it through my class, Nick was my teacher and I learned so much! Much more than my days of throwing pottery years ago. About halfway through my class I opted to join as a member of the studio. As a member, I have access to the studio to throw on one of their many wheels or use their tables for either handbuilding or for glazing. Membership also includes use of their tools and they have a huge assortment of glazes available for members to use. They fire all pieces in house too! I have made 60 pieces of pottery to date! With over 40 pieces completely finished. The staff here is amazing and they have so much knowledge between all of them, plus the other members offer invaluable lessons too, not to mention inspiration! Zoe has been especially helpful and answers any of my random questions, and I have plenty! I adore all of the staff I have interacted with and look forward to more exploring in the new year! While I am a jump in with both feet kinda woman- they offer sip and spin workshops, date night workshops, one on one lessons and various extensive classes. If you want a fun night out with friends or your special someone, or you are looking to have your son or daughter learn a wonderful hobby, or you want to dive in like me- they have something for you. This is considered a community studio and it really does enhance our community! Get your art on and go play! Get MUDDY!

If you are looking for a challenge or updating your pottery skills from school this is the place to start. Beginning wheel throwing was a new experience for me after 40 years. They have several different classes and teachers. All teachers teach differently. You can take another class with another teacher and learn something different. Hand Throwing was interesting and Katherine made us comfortable and let our creativity flow. You also get to know new people or if you just want to focus on your piece you can do that also. If you want to try something new or reinvent yourself this is the place to go.

Meghan was our instructor. We began at the wedge table to show us how clay is prepared for the wheel. The classes were small and intimate. Of course bring your wine. Would I do it again, no. All in all It was a good time to feel like I was in the movies with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze during potter wheel scene. It is not hard and a good night out for a group or a couple. Thank you Jax Pottery for making us feel comfortable. We can not wait for the finish product.

We did their Sip and Spin class on a Friday night (April 21) and had so much fun! I think it was about $75/person and you bring your own beer/wine, if desired. They have amazing, experienced, patient teachers taking you step-by-step and walking around to provide assistance/guidance. I am NOT a creative or artsy person and second guess everything; I was really struggling and kept messing mine up, requiring new clay several times. One of the girls stayed with me for most of the class and was sooo kind and patient!! I was feeling like such an idiot compared to everyone else in the class, but she really helped me feel better about it and have fun with it instead of being embarrassed! Towards the end of the class you choose what color you want your final product to be, leave it with them to glaze, fire, etc (not 100% sure the whole process) and wait for them to contact you for pick up. We got a text less than three weeks later on May 10 letting us know our finished projects were ready! We don't live near Murray Hill or spend a lot of time out there and kept forgetting to make our way out there. I called to make sure they were still there, she said they hold them up front for 2 or 3 months (can't remember exactly) after the class; we finally picked them up June 14, easy peasy! We had such a great time! Definitely plan on going back with family or friends! If we lived closer, we'd have been back already and probably even done one of their weekly classes!Small Update: I was just moving one of the pieces to a different location in our home and happened to look at the bottom - I saw where they carve in your name and the date which, I think, is a really nice touch!

Jacksonville Pottery Studio is an adorable and accessible studio for EVERYONE! All levels are welcome. They offer super fun sip n' spins (byob), pottery classes and membership options!! The manager, Zoë, is an absolute ray of sunshine and makes anyone that walks through the door feel so worthy and welcome. I have gained sooo much confidence in throwing on a wheel -- super grateful this place exists

My friends and i recently attended the Sip + Pottery class they offer and loved it. i was nervous because i had no prior experience before attending but the teacher in my saturday class was so helpful. Tools, clay and aprons are provided in the class, all you have to do is BYOB. during the class you're provided 3 pieces of clay just in case you mess or want to create more pieces. Afterwards, they trim, glaze and fire your items for you. 10/10 recommend (: perfect for date nights or as a intro into pottery.

Went to a spin and sip night for my birthday! It was loads of fun. We want to sign up for one of their 4 week classes. I've been waiting for a place like this to open in Jacksonville so I'm super excited this place is here! What a fun experience and the teacher was great. Did small bits of steps at a time, he helped to make sure you were doing okay and helped to get you caught up if you needed it.Overall great experience.
