Jazz Fest returns to Metro Park!!I realize that this is probably just a temporary venue while the Jax Landing space gets figured out, but thank you City of Jax - this is the perfect spot! And on top of that, they added Daily's Place too!!Seats, covered seats - away from the heat & elements! And lots & lots of parking ($15) at the stadium. Also - thank you for the variety of food trucks and having the buses available for Cooling Stations. We all mourn the recent loss of David Sanborn - Jax has done a good job adding new artists & juggling the schedule after this tragedy.

This is a wonderful free event that our great city offers us! There are several Stages in our downtown area, where you can follow the schedule to go and see the different Musicians and Bands. Ernie and I went to the main area, Hemming Park. We listened to several wonderful bands. I look forward to future festivals! Thanks going out to our great city and the Organizers of the Jazz Fest.

Great acts! Free admission! My best tip, is to come early with chairs! If you want to get the best seating, come early! Make sure to bring head covering, sunglasses, a big hat, etc. because the sun is bright and temps were warm. They have a ton of food trucks and drink options. There are two stages, so be sure to check out which acts you want to see before hand, so you know which stage to sit at. Chairs are a must, too crowded to lay with a blanket, but too long of a show to stand the entire time. Shows go on from 4ish to almost 11pm. It is crowded but considering the guest-list and the fact it's FREE, that's to be expected. Defiantly something to checkout and enjoy!

This year's Jazz Festival was wonderful!!! The stage was beautiful, the acts were amazing and everyone was enjoying themselves. The food vendors made delicious food and there was a large variety of options available to choose from. And to top it off on Saturday there was a long and beautiful fireworks display these are the type of events we need to have to make Jacksonville a destination city!

This was a super organized event and the musicians were pretty dope. Many vendors lined the streets with arts, crafts, food, free samples and pretty creative offerings. There were a couple of stages so you could pick which area you wanted to hang out and drink/eat/watch the shows. For next time: If you are ambitious, you can pack your own cooler full of libations and snacks, bring your fold out chairs or blankets and plop yourself down in the field to enjoy the weekend of jazz. If you want a quick experience, you can pick one of the days and just walk around & listen to the music play in the background while you spend a few hours immersing yourself in the energy. Either way, it's definitely worth the trip.Overall, the JJF is a great way to enjoy downtown Jax and participate in an amazing annual festival with some really talented jazz musicians from all over the world. Let's get jazzy! ;)

The Jazz Festival is held every year in Jax and I'm almost ashamed to say I have never been. Had it not been for Yelp, I would have missed it again this year. So, thank you Yelp... and also our wonderful CM, Allie A.! I spent the day in a nice, shaded spot under the Yelp tent hanging with fellow Yeeps. We were only a block down from the main stage, so we were able to enjoy the music all day and evening. I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful Saturday in May thank listening to some great music and hanging out with my Yeople! Most people who come to the festival don't have the nice, posh spot that I did, so I would suggest you bring chairs with you because there's really no where to sit. Even though I love the fact they block off streets in downtown Jax for the festival to be held, I don't recommend sitting down in the middle of one of the dirty streets. :D Also, it's Florida, so make sure to bring along your sunscreen and make sure to stay hydrated with plenty of water. There are stages set up in different areas, so you can wander from here to there. it is crowded, but not so much so that you can't move around. There are parking garages and lots that charge $10 to park, but I recommend you just drive around the streets for a bit and find a place to parallel park. We were able to find a spot only 4 1/2 blocks away. Parking is free on the streets on weekends, so you don't have to worry about bring quarters to feed the meters.I was very impressed with the security. There were security officers constantly walking around and I saw JSO Officers on pretty much every corner. What a great, FREE event we have here in Jacksonville every year! I will definitely be back next year (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have the Yelp tent up again hehehe)!

I LOVED the Jazz festival before COVID. It was fun, you'd walk around more, sit at the stages you wanted to sit at... Now? It's packed and you can barely find a seat. Which is fine. Great they have a crowd, and unfortunate they don't have the space. My big complaint is the drinks. $9 per drink. We got doubles. $83 was our total for THREE drinks. How?! And, one didn't taste like anything was in it so we took to back. They poured wine in it. So, obviously not drinkable at that point and they just shrugged their shoulders. $83 and you put wine in my margarita... Lines were long and I'm not one to cause a scene. But, seriously. Wtf?! I had to toss a $20 drink.
