Now known as Community First Igloo, this rink has become one of the nicest ice facilities since its renovation. I've stopped by here to watch (hockey) games for several years, and its transformation is impressive. They have two NHL sized rinks, a large bar/restaurant, pro shop, and gaming area. It's also the practice facility of the Jacksonville Icemen.

NO LONGER UNDER THIS NAME. It's called Community First Igloo. Look for new reviews there. Here is mine:So, this is the old Jacksonville Ice. Kids had gone here on field trips and wanted to come. I was not sure based on some online reviews (under the other name). Positives: Staff was pleasant at the front, skates okay. The snack bar (which under the old name had some horrid reviews) we had a girl who was SUPER nice- give her a raise. Don't have her name but she is in the pics. We only had coffee and hot cocoa, but it was good. Looks like you can bring food in too- others had drinks and McDonalds.Check for times- there are set times for open skate. Reasonable prices at $11 and change entry and $5 skate rentals. Also, walkers for $5. We arrived a bit late, but an hour and 20 was plenty.Dress: Warm. It is cold. I would recommend a hat. And while you can sit in a slightly warmer area behind glass, you are going to want to be closer if taking pics of the kiddos. Rink: Good size, decent crowd, yes some rowdy kids but never to the point that I was worried about my 9, 11, and 13 year old. Mixture of seasoned and new skaters, of all ages (while a younger lean). I will skate next time, but wanted to watch the kids this time.Definitely a fun and rather inexpensive two hours for $50. Great idea to get them away from electronics. It was fun. Will be back.

I found this place from a group on meetup. I thought the price of $13 was affordable including skates. It's the hot chocolate with whipped cream, pepperoni slice, cotton candy and Gatorade. I haven't been Ice skating in years. I've always seen this place near the dollar tree on Phillips but I never had a reason to go alone until then. I had a great time holding onto the wall until I felt comfortable enough to go in the Center. In the middle , the girls were doing professional somersault and junk like that. They cleaned the ice for what seemed like a half an hour and everyone was anxious to get back in. Definitely had a good time, met up with my group at the end. I was tired and cold so I went home.

It's been years since I've been back but the price is still the same, so that's always good: $12 included skate rental. It's a great place to hang out with friends and family specifically if you love to skate. I enjoy the spacious skating area. Plenty of room for people to skate without bumping into each other. Public skating schedule is posted on their site so make sure to check it out before heading there. They also have breaks in between sessions to smooth out the ice. The kids area is fun and enough to entertain young children while the parents skate. Highly recommended if you're into winter sports.

We went here on a quest to do some typical "Christmas/wintery" activities. Why? Because I remember doing these things as a kiddo and isn't being a parent mean you make your kids do things you did? I mean ask them to participate in things you did as a kid...We arrived relatively early and there were no lines, which was great. We paid and were instructed to go to skate rentals. I know you're thinking, "Carla you're a germaphobe, you rented skates?" Yes, I did, but I also brought 8000 pairs of extra socks.Got into our skates and probably the most entertaining part of night was watching the nugget walk on skates. It was like a baby deer on ice. It was cute and funny and gave me a good chuckle. They have little "walkers" for kids that are learning to skate, which is great. We put one on the ice and he was off...well sort of. Ice skating isn't easy, but it's fun and it was really fun watching the nugget try something new. It lasted about 30 minutes until he was ready to throw in the towel. My hubby took him to play a few games while I had the chance to skate for 15 minutes. It was fun. What wasn't fun was that the ice def needed a cleaning and smoothing because there were tons of grooves in the ice. The space is big and clean. Has games, a food stand, and rentals.Pros:-Great activity for the family-Fun atmosphere-lots of holiday decorationsCons:-the ice needed smoothing Tips: if you go here on a weekend, get here early...

Although I didn't see any hand sanitizing stations it is mandatory for everyone to wear a mask and get their temperature checked as soon as you purchase your wrist bad for ice skating. It was pretty crowded so I did wish they had hand sanitizer stations since a lot of people end up holding on to walls to prevent from falling. Overall had a great time ice skating. COVID safety I give a 3 of 5 just cause I always expect hand sanitizer stations especially at a a place where people are constantly touching same surfaces. Fun factor 5 of 5.

An ice rink is a fun option especially in the southern region of the US. It was a nice time. I would've given 3.5 if possible but I don't think it's quite a 4 star. The place is spacious and has some decent side option entertainment like games and what not. But when it came down to amenities and quality.. it was subpar. The lace up skates are very old and hard to maintain tied and tight. However if the newer blades are available those are decent. There weren't any sanitizing stations, and no one really sanitizing. Even if it weren't covid times, a place where feet are constantly out should be cleaner. It just overall felt grimey.

Great facility for Volleyball and Basketball, which is mainly the reasons I have been here with my kids. But there is more, they have ice skating. And indoor soccer. But there is more, the indoor soccer field is used for a lot of other things like training, little kids t-ball and lacrosse. There is limited seating and the facility is not pristine, but it is well run and good for club teams that need a place to go.

Even small kids have a great time because they have ice walkers that they can hold on to A great Christmas tradition. Be careful not to accept the lace up shoes. They are painful at the ankles and difficult to make right for support. Otherwise, I would have given them a 5 start if they had initially given me the most comfortable shoe. I will go over and over again.
