Island Wing Grill & Bar - Jacksonville

After we were told our wait was going to be over two hours at Meehan's pub at the opposite side of the hall, we sat down at Island Wing and were served immediately. Glad to know they carry the same beers as inside the pub. We ordered a harp lager and house Cabernet. To eat, we shared the fish n chips and cheeseburger. Food was hot and fries were crispy with Parmesan. The experience at Island is much better than the pub. Open air and good vibes. Shout out to our bartender, Bryan who took care of us the whole night!

My fiancée has loved Island Wing since before I knew him - so naturally we have gone between 20-30 times if not more every year for the past three years.I have tried many different meals from the menu, and I can accurately say that Island Wing's food is NEVER consistent and the service is almost always terrible. There have only been a handful of times that we get what we consider normal - good service. In the past few years, I have put up with ordering mac and cheese but somehow receiving pasta with zero cheese, experienced servers ignoring us after we are sat and waiting 10+ minutes, we have to interrupt our own meal to flag someone down to either get refills or a check because our server left us for 30 minutes and never returned, and just tonight I received food with a hair in it. Not to mention, we ordered the buffalo chicken dip tonight and it had so much grease that my fiancée got sick when we returned home. The terrible service honestly never ends and it seems to be at every Island Wing.Coming from someone who worked in food service for a long time, this is probably the worst management I have ever seen. Any time we go to Southside Island Wing, I always see a "manager" standing around, watching football on tv and never greeting/checking on tables or even just helping out anywhere. If it wasn't my fiancées favorite wings in Jax, this place would have never seen our business as many times as they have. At this point don't even bother with it. I hope the owners take a hard look at how their business is ran and fixes it for the better, because I will not be returning and will not be recommending.

Okay, bottom line up front...nothing special about their wings but nothing to be put off about either. A typical wing joint.Whenever I'm in town my old buddies and I get together for some wings, beer and glory day tall tail telling. Typically they elect Island Wing Grill as this is their go to wing joint in JAX.Service was spot on and the ambiance is typical of a sports bar/grill. All in all no complaints.

Six of us came to eat lunch here on a Thursday afternoon, they weren't busy at all and we were maybe the third table there. It seemed like they had only one waitress working the whole restaurant. The waitress came and took our drink orders she already seemed stressed and mumbled how she doesn't work the day shift. She didn't know the answer to our questions about the menu which was odd. We order and our food comes out with several things missing like sauces, dressing etc. I ordered the vegan tacos which come with a spicy sauce on it, I asked for it on the side and while flavorful it was way too spicy for me. Without the sauce the tacos were tasteless as were the side of vegetables. One of my friends asked for gluten free and was brought the wrong wings which was frustrating. I wasn't impressed with the service or food honestly, I think there are better restaurants to go to. 5 stars for the lady who bused our table she was a sweetheart and brought my friend a free dessert when she got upset. Would I come back? Probably not.

Pros: Food is cooked to order and freshCons: With today's climate of germs and fast paced germ being spread around. I was concerned to see food being placed in trays with bare hands. Women with long nails putting fries in basket was questionable. I would second guess visiting rerestaurants who do not see the need in using gloves and kitchen safety garments.

After having an initial disappointing experience at the bar, I decided to go back and sit at a hightop table because I still wanted to try their baked wings.My server, Kaiden, greeted me quickly. She was friendly and super attentive. The interior has a fun, colorful beach and/or Island theme.Having so many different sauces to choose from, I decided to order two traditional wing 10 packs, all flats, and split the sauces. Based upon Kayden's recommendation, I decided to try sweet and peppery Polynesian, dry lemon pepper, golden barbecue, and honey strung barbecue. To be honest, the wait time was a little longer than expected. I waited close to 30 minutes for my food, but during this time, Kayden did check on me and provide refills.Nevertheless, the weight was well worth it once I tasted the wings. They were slightly crispy on the outside and super juicy and tender inside. All four of the sauces tasted unique. The dry lemon pepper rub may have been the best lemon pepper I've ever tried.So, while I was initially disappointed when trying to order food from the bar, I'm glad I gave the restaurant a second chance, because the wings were amazing.Cheers

Wow! So surprised. It's been a long time since I have been to Island Wings.As usual I choose a seat at the bar. Their collection of drafts is large but being a person of prediction "Blue Moon" for me.Surprise! As I was flipping the menu I came across lunch menu and daily specials. 5 wings and fries and all day happy hour!My wings were delicious, fries were hit and well seasoned and the beer perfectly cold!

Love a nice clean sport bar and grill. The service was great. Drinks were on point and the wings were even better. My husband loved all the tvs and spacious seating areas. We will definitely be back again!

this place was amazing. We're constantly searching for baked wings. Harder to come by than you think. But the baked wings here were delicious and the fries wereBuffalo chicken dip was my fav...full of chicken and it was more chopped than shredded. We'll be back soon!

My husband and I are from out of town here for his eye cancer radiation so we ordered to go from Island Wing Co on Sunday night and loved the flat bread and pickle chips so we thought let's go out to eat tonight! BIG mistake....evidently if you walk in the patio door that's a no-no. The manager, we assume, came up to tell us rudely and flat out where the hostess stand was, but brought us menus. So we assumed we didn't need to be reseated and the place was not even 1/4 full. No wait staff came for about 5-10 minutes. My husband who has limited vision out of only one eye due to uveal cancer and wears a patch got up to use the restroom but went towards the wrong area and this same rude "manager" stated to him, "your going back to the kitchen so are you going to help me cook now", laughed at him and turned to keep the joke up with a couple other guests. Our wait staff was excellent, the appetizer we ordered was good but the manager....a big "0" in my eyes! First of all treat people with respect and you will be treated the same, don't laugh at a person's disability and thank you for ruining what was going to be a little celebration dinner for getting through the start of radiation today.
