Yum!!! You want to taste the island? Come here, I promise, you will feel transported to Jamaica with the first bite!I came in straight from work, got 1 plate of jerk chicken and some Pattie's.... Wound up taking another plate home so the family could enjoy as well. The jerk chicken is so tender and perfectly seasoned and chargrilled. The restaurant is got an island vibe with some island music playing in the background (not to loud, but just enough to finish the vibe of being transported with every bite.I swear... if this place was beachfront or like it's own standing building with an outdoor tropical place... you would definitely think you got transported. It's super clean including the bathrooms. The owner is filled with joy everytime I saw someone walk in/leave.My server was Lucy (she's also a bartender there), if you go.. ask for Lucy (she work the later part of the week), tell her Trisha recommended her With the quality of food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the amazing service that I received today... this place is going to be a neighborhood favorite without a doubt!

My brother and I stopped here for a bite, and we were amazed at what was in store for us:Garfield and his wife, T, deliver made-to-order tastes of ecstasy. The long-stewed softness, the perfectly complimentary heat with a house-blend of Caribbean flavor...wow!This is an absolute must-visit for anyone that thinks themself a lover of food.

Visited here on a Saturday around 1:00 pm. It was not crowded at all and we were sat immediately. I ordered the brown stew chicken, my husband ordered the oxtails. We shared a side of Mac and cheese and grabbed an order of 25 fried shrimp to share (we like to sample, we are not this greedy). As mentioned before it did take some time to get our order, but it was well worth it. I was truly impressed by the Mac and cheese! Everything was delicious, hot, and plentiful. We didn't finish anything and took most of our food to go. The ambiance is very family friendly with the owner's daughter and wife working there as well. The owner/cook came out to greet us and ask about how we liked the food. Just budget plenty of time and come ready to eat!!

Jamaican restaurant. Spacious clean nice people. On Wednesday nights they have karaoke. It's right behind McDonald's next to Citi trends, and Cato. It's located on the corner of Dunn Avenue in Lem Turner. On the same strip as Bailey's gym. I ordered oxtails and peas and rice. Oxtails are spicy but tasty.

So far everything I've tried has been tasty! Beef stew, jerk chicken, oxtail. Delicious and good size portions. I wish they had more veggie options. Can't wait to try the curry next. The place is very neat and cute decor.

New Caribbean restaurant on the Northside. We came on a Wednesday for dinner and Wednesday is karaoke night. The decor is an ode to Jamaica and we were seated quickly. We ordered two cocktails and chargrilled oysters for an appetizers. The oysters was unimpressive because of the cheese they used, I was expecting Parmesan cheese but it was cheddar instead. They were out of oxtails so my husband ordered beef stew and I ordered curry chicken. The service was quick and the portions are large. The food was average lacking the traditional flavors of Caribbean. The karaoke was entertaining but more attention to the food flavors are needed.

This is my first review of a restaurant ever. I noramlly don't do them. However, this is a black-own business, and I want it to thrive, so I hope the owner reads the review and implements changes. First and foremost, the food is great. My comments are on the service only. I have been to this establishment many times over and over and have not enjoyed the service. There's been several things that I noticed during other visits that I ignored, thinking it's a new business, and things will get better. My recent visit, however, just made me very unhappy that I thought it was time for a review. After a 12 hour day, I was exhausted. I called in my order ahead of time. I expected to pick up my order and go home. When I called my order in, I was told my order was going to be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived 15 minutes later, the order was not ready. I understand having to wait another 5 minutes or so, but I waited 40 minutes. The place had maybe 3 people prior to me, so I dont think being busy was the issue.I feel like my order was not put in until I paid. If payment is required before the order is put in, just say that. I support the business and always leave a tip, but the service needs to be better. I want you to WIN. The food is too good to let the service be the downfall of the business.

Yesterday I was on my way to a dental appointment and I was hungry. I stopped in at Islandbreeze Café and OMG.I ordered chicken soup and plantains. The chicken soup was amazing delicious. I ate half before the appointment and almost ran out to get the other half after. In this cold weather, it is the soup that you want to have to warm your mind, body and soul ! Absolutely delicious.

If you're looking for Caribbean flavor, this may not be what you want. Am I saying it tastes bad? No. What I am saying is the flavor is much more soul food and much less Caribbean.
