The Island Art Association Gallery is a beautiful facility located off the main historic district main street in Fernandida Beach. The gallery is located on second street. The outside of the building is covered with colorful tile artwork that wraps around the building. There is also a beautiful and welcoming courtyard with two tables containing umbrellas for shade, as well as four benches throughout the courtyard. The inside gallery houses the art of 50 local artists. It is a non-profit volunteer organization that displays the beautiful artwork of the local artists for sale, and also offers art education classes. It is a must see if you are in the area visiting Fernandina Beach.

I love art- for inspiration, or picking up art in mediums I don't have access to or haven't tried yet. Fiber art is one of those mediums I know little to nothing about- especially and sun-print on fabric art. I've stopped int his gallery before and always consider it a treat. This time we were fumbling outside in the rain looking for masks, because of a sign on the door, when a lady threw the door open and said- come in! Oh thank goodness. It was cold and raining. I was the hold up. Once inside- I saw several pieces of art I loved, but in the front window had hues of blue ink on fabric and the creator used ferns and leaves and such to be printed on small pieces of fabric. There were bigger pieces or art that included stitching and had a quilting feel. Beautiful embellishments. I also love glass art- I have plenty of it throughout my house already. But I was hung up on that one artist work. The back corner had a bunch more of pieces- including smaller, less expensive ones. I was him-hawing. I loved the colors. Blues and greens are my favorites & there was one that just caught my eye. My girlfriend was trying to point out the less expensive ones. I was about to walk away when she mentioned she thought the lady who let us in was this artist. What!?!? She was right and I jumped in and grabbed the one I loved. Always happy to meet the artist and make that connection! Definitely stop in for an eclectic mix of art mediums.

This is an amazing little art gallery just off the Main Street. Make sure to take the time to turn down for a wonderful walk through of some amazing hand made treasures. From tiny jewelry to large wall art, anything you might be looking for you can find here. Pottery, ceramics, paintings, abstract - whatever you might be looking for. Local artisans fill the multiple rooms with such beautiful and unique works of art to fit any price range as well.I love just walking through here to see the talent from the multiple artists that sell in this shop. They also offer classes (but not now due to the Covid-19 restrictions).

While visiting Amelia Island, we got the opportunity to check out the Island Art Association Gallery, which is home to over 50 local artisans - talented individuals who specialize in ceramics, glass, jewelry, mixed media, mosaics, painting, pen and ink, photography, sculpture, stained glass, and textile. From time to time, they host artist receptions and offer classes and workshops. Some of my favorite pieces were cat paintings by Becky White and floral painting by Susan Henderson.

The Fernandina Art Association is a non-profit volunteer organization whose purpose is to develop and sustain an interest, appreciation and enjoyment for the arts in Nassau County! These free 2nd Sunday of the month lessons and projects are fun and a great way to meet new people. Today 2/16/20 we used oils and wax to mainly try our hands with flowers! Oils can take 2 weeks to dry so we will have to wait before we present to the world..lol!

Wonderful venue of local arts & crafts being a co-operative Art Gallery requiring members to be residents of Amelia Island and Nassau County. An exhibiting artist is always on duty. Special themed exhibits throughout the year providing an opportunity to exhibit by not only members, but also part time residents. Association also supports the community through free youth art classes, art supplies to teachers, and scholarships. Additionally, the IAA recruits, jury and supervise artists for the annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival Fine Arts & Crafts Show, since 1976.www.islandart.org.
