Hovan Gourmet Mediterranean Restaurant

Wow, if I could give this place a 6/5 I would! I've passed by this restaurant many times but have never stopped in until I got it recommended to me. It's located in a great spot, right on the corner, and I found a parking spot relatively quickly. They have tables inside and outside, and you can dine in or take out. When I went at 2pm on a Saturday, they were super busy but I was still helped very quickly. I got the falafel gyro with a side of rice. Absolutely 10/10! My rice came right out of the steamer and my falafel came right out of the fryer. Everything is super fresh, seasoned well, and very tasty! The customer service was quick and great. The man who took my order took his time answering a question of mine so I could get exactly what I wanted, even when there was a line behind me. I can't wait to go back here and try their vegan gyro next!

I come to Hovan regularly for lunch, drawn by the combination of fresh, tasty, healthy, and moderately priced food and a friendly atmosphere. Service is informal and quick but this is not "fast food:" everything is prepared with love and pride. The team at Hovan aims to please and they consistently do. My favorite is the chicken kebab on pita, which I typically order with one side, the salad, which is fresh and features a bright lemony dressing. The kebab is consistently excellent: tender cubes of grilled and marinated chicken breast, wrapped inside of a hot pita with salad and sauce. I also recently tried the lamb & beef gyro, which is also good but I prefer the chicken. Everything is fresh, and all of the sides are delicious.

Great for a quick and healthy lunch! A large variety of options and the food is delicious. Would definitely come back!

The customer service is top-tier! Associate Bible was very helpful and made sure we were please with selection we purchased. This was the first time my family and i ate at the restaurant. I love Mediterranean however this bus new for my family. We were able to taste food before we purchase

Was in 5 points and decided I needed a nice healthy lunch. Stopped into Hovan to grab a Vegan Gyro and some soup. It did not disappoint. The veggies were fresh and the taste was amazing. I also ordered a Potato Lentil Soup which was very hearty and flavorful. The staff were nice but to the point. Service was quick and efficient. The lobby was inviting although I opted to take it to go.

Hands down, theeee best Mediterranean food in JAX. The owners are always so kind and nice! I crave their food on a daily basis! So happy this Jacksonville staple has been around for so long. Don't forget to snag a piece of the chocolate pistachio baklava!

I went with my wife and neighbors on a Saturday early afternoon after going to the Riverside Arts and Music festival.As we walked in the front door my initial thought was it's a little underwhelming. The menu on the wall looks pretty limited. The have a handful of items that can we ordered a couple different ways. You order at the counter, slide over to pay and then wait to get your food.I ordered the gyro over the house salad and added feta cheese. It was pretty good. I'm not a fan of cucumbers and there were quite a few if you like that. The dressing and gyro were great. I don't remember what it's called but I also got the honey cake. They gave me the corner piece which is always a bonus.My wife got a ham and turkey club with a side of potato salad and pasta salad. I'm not usually a fan of potato salad but this was okay. It didn't have mayo on it so that's s good thing. It was close to room temp and tossed in olive oil and herbs.I'm not usually in this part of town so I'm not sure when I'll be back. I'd probably go here again over going to one of the Mexican places in the area.

The girl answering the phone is extremely rude. I called to place a to go order. I asked for a Greek salad with chicken and she upset I didn't specify (not knowing theres more than 1 kind). She scoffed when I asked the difference and proceeded to say... "um it's a KABOB????" I just let it go and didn't make a big deal about her attitude. She asked if I want sides and I asked her what they had. She told me it wasn't her job to tell me what sides they have. Simple questions that require simple answers. No need for attitude. Will not be eating here ever.

This place is a staple for a reason. They have super tasty, healthy and quick food that's consistently high quality. The service is always super nice as well, even during their lunch rushes. And they have outdoor seating to people watch the always entertaining Five Points crowd. What's not to love?

So so good. Cutest little mom and pop with the best Mediterranean I've ever had. Super welcoming and generous. Love both the inside seating and the outside patio. Definitely give it a try!!!!
