Hong Kong Bistro

This place has been consistently on spot for me since opening.The service is very good and the food is great! Ambience is chill and family oriented, with several items on the menu that are family style. We ordered the snow pea leaf with garlic sauce. It's like cooked spinach but chewy stalks. The short ribs are delicious and tender. The sauce is great on rice. We also had the half roasted duck .Amazing every time!!!Highly recommend

The food took a long time to come out, the soup dumplings are a total disaster....if you look at them, they burst...these are NOT soup dumplings.The staff is no good, they rarely come check on you and if they do its only if you wave them down...the bathrooms are another total disaster.. YUUCK.. if the bathroom looks like this, what does the kitchen look like.... NO THANKS never again.

The food was subpar, the staff was running around like they didn't have the tables covered... when the doors opened to the kitchen it was totally not legal people.I will never give a business money that does not hire legal workers...total disgrace. No Thank You.

The food was very good, my new favorite restaurant for Chinese. The portions are family size so plan on sharing and bringing home the leftovers

We ordered a variety of things to be picked up about 30 minutes later. It was impressive that they even called us back after we placed the order because they were unable to prepare one of the entrees we ordered so we selected an alternate item. It was great that they cared to find an alternate entree. We arrived and our order was ready when promised. Everything was delicious, enough so that I failed to take any pics of the food!

We were in town with my son for college so we saw it and just trying it out! We were early around 1130 or so, it was not too busy! We were able to order a few dim sum items and beef chow fun. Overall the food is very goodThe rice noodle dish is ok it is a little thick than I expected!! The server is attentive and friendly The location is older style but clean overall!

I've been coming to this place if I have a hankering of Dim sum and Chinese food. The service is always good and the place is clean. I also come during lunchtime and the last time I went, the food wasn't good anymore. I usually order few dim sum and a regular dish.This time, I was very disappointed, gradually this place has gone South. The ribs with black beans was awful, it tasted weird. I've had several dim sum all my life but this particular dish, I can't even describe it. What's happening?

I've ordered from Hong Kong Bistro twice, once for dim sum and once for their regular menu. I've been struggling to find good dim sum in Jacksonville, having just moved here from a much bigger and more diverse city. I was recommended Hong Kong Bistro but was skeptical because I tried their Beef Chow Fun and thought it was acceptable but was average in taste. Their dim sum though, is probably the best I've had in Jacksonville so far, it still falls apart a little bit but overall hits the spot. Would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, My search continues for the Holy Grail of Chinese food in Jax. If you've never had Chinese food in NYC then you might enjoy this more than I did. I had high hopes for Hong Kong Bistro as I entered this rather large undescript Chinese restaurant. We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess who was also our server. The menu has some traditional Chinese dishes including beef & broccoli, lo Mein, and some special items like crispy duck and even a few things I've never heard of like a jelly fish dish. My husband judges all Chinese restaurants by their won ton soup. He said when asked" Well it doesn't taste like dishwater." Which is a good compliment. He enjoyed it very much but said it only had 1 tiny piece of pork floating around his cup. I had the hot & sour soup which was very spicy just the way I like it. At this point we had high hopes. We then ordered the shrimp & garlic rolls. Although they looked like egg rolls & were crispy on the outside they were filled with something soft that had little to no flavor. Next we had crispy noodles with pork. This dish is a hard crispy noodle with a soft noodle in sauce with pork on top. This dish was neutral. It had no flavor but we added soy sauce & hot mustard which much improved it. Next we had curry chicken. On the menu this dish was noted to be spicy. It was hacked chicken, onions, snow peas in a curry gravy. The dish was more gravy than ingredients & It had a mild curry flavor but absolutely no spice. It was good but I was disappointed in the lack of spice. I had ordered hot tea and when I poured it tons of tea leaves poured into my cup. I sure wish I knew how to read the tea leaves. I felt I was not able to drink the tea with all those leaves in it and our server promptly apologized & said this is the way they serve it. I'm sure that's more authentic but not for me. I will continue my search in Jax for the best Chinese food.

Great hot & sour soup. Great fried pork dumplings.Service awesome! Best Chinese at the beach!
