Shoutout to our local community heroes here at Hiro. The venue is very calm and welcoming. The server was polite, patient, respectful, and attentive. The menu is quite nice with yummy appetizers, sushi, sashimi, rice dishes, ramen, salad, and even desserts. Drinks are also varied from hot tea, iced tea, soda, saki, beer, etc. The chef is so professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I could that he has pride in his trade because everything was like an art masterpiece. The flavors, textures, and delicate details were all top rate! This is definitely what I am looking for in a sushi venue. I even got to order extra yummy spicy mayo and ginger. We liked everything! The chef was so kind to come by our table and personally asked us if we liked our food and if it was our 1st or 2nd visit. He was sincere and genuine. We were very happy to see the other happy patrons and we even met a returning customer at the door as we waited for the venue to open. She shared with us that this was the 1st place that she ever had sushi and she returned here knowing that she would have another opportunity to enjoy the food. This was great testimonial to this venue to become the ambassador for sushi and her good 1st experience. Bravo!

Service was good. Chef was very nice and made our sushi dinner perfectly. He told us about the differ T fish and how they were prepared. Some were new to me and all were enjoyable. Honestly we usually go to sushi X which is about half the price but the selection of fish isn't as diverse as Hiro.

Went there last night, and sat at the sushi bar. I was missing sushi from Hawaii. The Nigri was very tasty. Huge fresh pieces of fish on the perfect amount of sushi rice. I really enjoyed the white ginger that accompanied the Nigiri. The sushi chef was the owner, I appreciated his hospitality and skill. We will definitely go again. Restaurant was quiet and very clean.

This place is so cute and cozy. The food is so fresh and on point with flavor.We had great service and we 100% will be back. We went a little ham on our orders but there were too many options. I opted for the lunch teppanyaki salmon with veggies, sweet potato fries and clear soup. I also ordered the lunch sushi special with the salmon skin roll and eel cucumber roll. I've been struggling to find sushi up to my west coast standards and this place is the closest I have gotten. See you again soon!

What a great location, wonderful sushi, crystal clear interior, and fantastic service. Really a great find for our Sunday after church lunch and easy parking is also a big plus. The sushi chef came over to our table and explained that he was trained in Tokyo and had only been in the US for a few months. We may be biased, but we hope he stays. Also, for those of you who like their rolls tightly wrapped, I did not have a problem with mine. Also loved the little things, like the chopstick holder for each person at the table and real chopsticks, not the disposable time. Kudos for the two rolls for $9.99 special every day of the week. (Even Sundays). Most sushi locations will not honor a special like that on Sundays. But you want to hear about the food:Side Salad - good and fresh, they don't the salad with dressing and instead put it on the side. So you can still soak it if you want. Seaweed Salad - served on top of sliced cucumber, it was good. Philadelphia Roll - got rave reviews from our table. Alaska Roll - one of my personal favorites. Sweet Potato Roll - a family favorite and this was do well done. Maybe top it with some eel sauce, but that may just be personal preference. Shrimp Tempura - pretty standard, but we'll executed. Spicy Tuna - paired well with the sweet potato roll, a little sweet and a little spice. Baymeadows Roll - this was in the category of "let's try something" which we all shared and guess what, it was PERFECTION. Really a delicious roll. Also like that the menu specified how many pieces you get with each roll. ONE BIG COMPLAINT. Iced tea was not all you could drink, which is pretty standard in the South. Also, salad or soup is not included with the two roll special, also pretty standard in the South. I hope they rethink both of those policies in the future.

Best sushi in Jacksonville, every single roll and piece of sushi we got was incredible! The quality is unbeatable and the chef was such a professional, hand making every role in front of us. I will only go back to Hiro's for sushi from now on. The atmosphere was very quaint and relaxing. Totally underrated place, everyone should go here!

The restaurant is cozy & intimate with great decor. The food was wonderful & the chef very friendly. Will definitely go back in the future. Quite a little gem in the Reedy Branch Shopping Center.

Last night was our first time dining at Hiro and what a jewel it is--food, service & decor. The owner's attention to detail is obvious in all three. To start, we ordered pork & vegetable dumplings (seared, not steamed) & enjoyed the complimentary fried onion rings that arrived while we awaited them. Hiro has an impressive selection of classic & innovative Japanese cuisine: maki rolls, sushi, noodles, hibachi & other delectations. I'm a mackerel lover & was thrilled to find it served grilled, a rarity. The diminutive space has golden wood paneling, attractive lighting & decorative accents. Hiro is located in Reedy Branch Commons, flanked by H&R Block and a nail salon. Open for lunch & dinner. Wonderful.
