Henry J. Klutho Park, in Springfield, is a spacious outdoor recreational area that offers a variety of activities for visitors. The park features a well-maintained baseball field, open fields, and several statues and a fountain, all surrounded by lush greenery. Additionally, a large raised pavilion with restrooms underneath provides a comfortable spot to rest and take in the scenery. With biking trails that traverse the park and shaded areas for walks, this Park is an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and disc golf players alike. As someone who has had the pleasure of playing disc golf at this park, I can confidently say that it is well-maintained and offers a serene atmosphere, complete with a stunning view of the city skyline.

I was pleasantly surprised by this park. Went to play disc golf on a beautiful day. The course is fairly well marked - had to back track a couple times but finally did find the tee boxes. Discovered that the park also had basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball field and a few swings. Sits within the Historic Springfield area. Downside is that there are some homeless people that are living under the bridges. Also, very few trash cans available.

Klutho Park hosts the main gathering area for Porchfest - a music festival that uses ordinary (sometimes extraordinary) porches as stages. The park is transforming - via huge public assistance from neighbors & friends and the City of Jacksonville. Hogans Creek flows through the park and connects it to what will hopefully be Jacksonville's "Central Park" one day. Named for architect Henry John Klutho - a man that left his mark on Jacksonville - the park is a reminder & a vision for better times in this neighborhood. They've recently added a sculpture walkway as you enter the park - curated by a UNF sculpture professor and featuring some Jacksonville artists!

This is a beautiful, spacious park in the Springfield neighborhood. This is the location for Second Sundays in Springfield, a monthly event hosted by Jacksonville Porchfest, SPAR, and Springfield Area Merchants and Business Association. There is a disc golf course located here and you will find locals playing games, having a picnic or just enjoying the outdoors. I've driven by this park on a few occasions, but the coolest time to come here is when there's an event. There are food trucks, local artists, various vendors, and often times scheduled performers and music to really draw in the residents who live here. It's a very cool vibe.Overall, I recommend visiting. The park is surrounded by newly renovated homes where you can stroll around on foot via the brick paved sidewalks and check out the renewed growth in the area. Great starting point to explore Springfield and the neighborhood. There's a lot going on here and the park is a wonderful place to view hidden parts of downtown Jacksonville.FYI: Second Sundays in Springfield runs from 4pm to 7pm on the 2nd Sunday of the month for the Springfield residents and the Jacksonville community. It you get a chance, bring your foldout chairs or a blanket, BYOB and enjoy the festivities!

I think Klutho Park is wonderful for sharing the park for the Porch Festival every year. But, I do have to say, loosing a star for the rugged sidewalks. I almost trip every time I am here. Saturday, a lady did fall to the ground, because of the sidewalk. I love all of the sculptures in the park, especially the boot. The park also has the frisbee thing going on as well. Great job, just fix the unevenness of the sidewalks.

As a Springfield Resident, Klutho Park has been both a rallying point and common ground for neighbors and friends to congregate and enjoy living. As part of the Urban core, this "unsavory" area was Jacksonville's first suburb. Klutho park was part of what was once the Venice of Jax, connected by a creek that spanned the neighborhood, with balustrades that encircled the waterway and the park system like a necklace. It's a four star park with five star sentimental value because in the 18 years we've called SPR our home, this park has undergone many positive changes that the residents fought to get and volunteered to do. From the 100 trees planted by neighbors for shade and beauty to the baseball diamond where the July 4th Throwback games and picnic are held yearly, we've enjoyed Klutho. From the Easter egg hunts organized by the Mommies' Club, the soccer games and the annual Turkey Bowl during Thanksgiving to the fountain restored and built by residents, we've enjoyed Klutho. Could it use more amenities and support by the city? Sure it could! There's room for improvement and we want it to be even better. What Klutho Park does have is a disc golf course, wide open spaces and a hundred year old gazebo that has seen orchestras, jazz bands and most recently the music of Porchfest. What Klutho has is history surrounded by blocks of architecturally beautiful homes and the people who love them. I get it though, Urban neighborhoods aren't everyone's version of his or her blue heaven, but it isn't necessarily hell either.Visit http://www.sparcouncil.org/photo_gallery for photos of Klutho Park and of the community that is fighting to preserve a neighborhood worth saving from neglect, demolition, and prejudice.

This is a cool [ark that I had no idea that it was here. The place has plenty of space and it is right smack in the middle of let's say less then savory area of town. We found this place cause of the Porchfest this year and that in it's self is super wonderful. But this year it was on the west side of main street. The houses all around are so cool. We just love that old architecture of the houses. The park has sprawling green grass with a big ban stage or gazebo type building. There are tons of trees for you to plant yourself for a lazy afternoon. Today it was crawling with people enjoying some of the foods presented by local food truck vendors at for the Porchfest. It's defiantly a cool place and somebody in the food truck world should really look hard at this venue for a say Championship if there is ever another one. This place would be head over heels better then the landing.
