The salon has a great, laid back atmosphere. Go here. Get your hair cut by Carol. She is a hair artist. Seriously. I had years of horrible experiences getting my hair cut. I have a ton of thick hair that can be insane. A lot of people never knew how to cut it correctly, and majority of my hair cuts ended in tears...Until, I met Carol. She started cutting my hair in 2003 and I never let another person touch it. She really takes her time and will not give you a cut that looks bad on you. I trust her with my hair explicitly. And, I cannot stress how anal I am about who I let touch my hair. But, with Carol I can just go and give her a really vague idea about what I think, and I let her take it from there. I've never been less than ecstatic about every haircut she's ever given me.Even when I moved to Tallahassee to go to FSU, I came back for Carol's haircuts.Recently, I relocated to Chicago and realized it would no longer be practical to travel to Jax for my haircuts. However, every time I am back in Florida I guarantee I will be scheduling an appointment with her. She really is the best.

Joe has been doing my hair for YEARS! When I come here it's like visiting family. Can't imagine going anywhere else!

Carol has been the coloring genius behind my hair for years and I'm going to her mad skills terribly when I move to California next month. I'm also going to miss the lively banter and great atmosphere of the salon itself. Marc, Joe, and the others really keep me smiling and feeling good while I'm there. I'll definitely be back for visits when I'm in town.

Heads up is the best place in Jacksonville to get your hair done. Joe and Marc run the place. Both are great guys and are a complete hoot. Each are talented and you can't go wrong with either one. It is a pleasure to go and get your hair done there. I look forward to every appointment.

I am writing this review because I am unable to reach anyone by phone. I called for DAYS... How could I give them a good review when I am not permitted to try their services? I can tell you their customer service is poor because their website says the times I am calling they ARE open and not a soul bothers to answer the phone and THAT IS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Been going here since I was a little baby teen, lovely studio, excellent staff. Marc and Joe are truly the best of the best!!! HIGHLY recommend. I have had more people than I can count ask me where I got my hair cut from their cuts. I have had my hair cut by both Marc and Joe - they are both skilled stylists and great listeners!! A Jax gem in my opinion!!!

I went to Heads Up to get my hair done this weekend. Omgoodness!! Amazing! The staff was constantly cleaning in between clients, wearing masks, and ensuring socially distancing. Beautiful Ms. Rose is so phenomenal!! She was my hair stylist and I must say, she is soooooo sweet, knowledgable, and so very talented. I left feeling so cared for and oh so beautiful. I must also mention the wonderful gentlemen at the establishment as well. Mr. Mark and Mr. Joe were also so sincere, so accommodating, and made me feel like a V.I.P. What an amazing establishment they all are running here. Five stars across the board!! Thank you Heads Up! Thank you Rose!! And thank you Mark and Joe!! You all rock!!Keep on keeping on!!
