Harps American Pub & Grill

Looking for a good burger, Harps is your place. Pulled up on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and happily surprised by the amount of parking! Nice big restaurant with outdoor patio dining. Bar is a nice size, accommodating several people to belly up. The pool table is in the back dining area for all to play, tv's all around, and a wonderful atmosphere overlooking Fishwier Creek. I ordered the burger with fries, and he got the chicken salad salad with fried pickles for an appetizer.The pickles are delicious and enough for a group! My burger was cooked perfectly with just the perfect amount of juice trickeling out after your first bite. The fries were nice and crisp, which I love. The salad was just that. Nice size with chunks of chicken salad. We left happy and can't wait for better weather so we can enjoy the patio!

7/14/23One of our book club members when it is her turn to pick a book and restaurant...she picks here (though the last time we were there it had a diff name Harpoon Louie). There is still seating inside (kind of loud) and outside by the creek (differently hot) so we sat inside. I ordered the lunch special fish nuggets with a salad for $6...good price and good food! Others ordered different dishes with some type of fish too. Our server let us sit and talk long after our food was eaten so that was nice

Shame on me for not having any pictures whenever we visit Harps. I don't usually go in to Dive bars but this is my only exception and the service and food is the reason why for that. Before the big renovation on the road the parking here can be tricky especially if its a busy night but ever since they had the road renovated they added few more parking on the side of the Harps. I do believe that Harps is a staple for the Avondale, Riverside and Ortega neighborhood. When people comes here everyone knows everyone which is that's why you feel at home. Service here is always amazing! The servers here are so good and we never waited for our food for a long time. Food: we ordered from spinach and dip to burgers , nachos and their caramel cheesecake but my favorite is the blackened fish! OH MY GOODNESS!! i can eat that everyday! very well seasoned and hot whenever I order it and the sauce that comes with it is just the icing on the cake, I am not sure what is the ingredients for that sauce all I know is they put soy sauce in there and it its the bomb! We never have any complaints on our food here it's always on point. Harps have a decent size for the place, they have an outdoor seating area. If you haven't tried this amazing place this is the sign for you to go and order the blackened fish for me!

Came to Harp's for live music and drinks, and was so pleased with the evenings entertainment scheduled, Jenni Reid was fun and very talented. I had drinks and food. Came with a friend and we had the fries mozzarella sticks and key lime pie and drink wine and beer. Will come back for live music especially when we see Jenni Reid on the schedule. Really enjoyed the time we spent here. Thanks!"

This is my 'go to' place for wings! It's right around the corner from me so I can even ride my bike!! You wouldn't know it from looking at it (it's definitely a place the locals know about and it does have the vibe of a dive, which I like!) but the food is GOOD and the prices are very reasonable. The servers are very friendly (unless you aren't - lol) and they feel like they are your sisters, neighbors, etc. That is, they make you feel at home! There's a patio for outdoor dining, they host local musicians and they have a very popular trivia night. It's also a great place to watch your favorite teams play as they have multiple screens........This is a neighborhood hangout that I hope we get to enjoy for many years to come!! And, yes, there's usually plenty of parking, even if the lots across the street need to be utilized! I've given Harp's a four rating because I often have to ask for the tables to be cleaned off and sometimes the bathrooms need attention. I get it, though, they stay pretty busy and it's hard to keep up!

Was looking for somewhere different and happened upon Harps-pleasantly surprised! Service was absolutely superb, casual atmosphere, and a great selection of draft beer! Food was so-so, but well priced. Stayed for trivia night because who doesn't like cold beer and free trivia??! Overall had a great time and we will be back!

Always love the food at Harps! We went for brunch today and the playlist was on point. Did not stray from our usual order of Karl's way wings and the backyard burger. Why mess with the tried and true?!? Love this neighborhood hangout

Quick, friendly service, great neighborhood vibe. Outdoor patio tables have umbrellas and a view of the creek. There is also an outdoor covered dining area in the front of the restaurant. The blackened fish sandwich is consistently outstanding. Good beer selection with several local brews on tap. The only thing I've encountered that's off putting is they don't seem to mind people smoking at the outdoor tables (which adversely affects my appetite). Inside feels like a dive bar, but if that your vibe, enjoy.

This is a cool place that we were a little weary about due to the more "country" crowd around it, but we sat outside next to the river and they had the blues playing and when the food came out we were in awe. The price to flavor ratio is insane making us feel like we were misreading the prices. This is an example of cheap doesn't mean bad. We had the best salsa and chips ever and following that our entrees were perfect. We loved looking at the water and bridge, and our waitress was super funny and helpful. I read reviews before coming and a lot of them talked about the food temp.My fiancé and I's food came out the perfect temp.
