Garden Club of Jacksonville

A great location for special occasions on the river!Came here for my friend's wedding and it was absolutely beautiful! The cocktail hour outside during golden hour was such a beautiful start and setting to celebrate their love. The weather was also cooler which was ideal. I know a lot of venues for weddings are pretty strict for who can cater but it was nice to see that this venue was flexible as it was a cater that I was used to seeing at Vietnamese wedding all across Florida. When we went inside, it was a huge ballroom and was decorated nicely. Our friends had amazing little stations- some for take home memorabilia, a ramen station for later, etc. Overall, a great location for a wedding!

Great location, right along the river. My friend, Debbie F, invited me to an event and the space is lovely! They had live music, light nibbles and a cash bar- you can't go wrong! She was bragging about other events she had been to. I thought about joining the club- but I currently just don't have time to carve out for it. I will keep it in mind once I finish school though! Check out their events! They have socials, dinners, expos and activities- adult and family geared. I was impressed with their annual program!

We have worked at the garden club and the staff is always friendly. The garden club is a great venue that's easy to find. There are steps in the front entrance which makes it tricky to bring large items in that roll.

The Garden Club is a great venue in Riverside located right next door the Cummer Museum. It is set right on the water with a large garden in the back of the large ballroom/hall. It is a beautiful setting and is often rented out for various events, private and public.I have been to two three different kinds of events here.A wedding. It was beautiful, with the ceremony taking place on the landing/steps that lead from the garden into the ballroom. The reception was then held inside the ballroom, which was nice. It is a really pretty room, but it does seem a little bit... generic or something. It has the same feel as a fellowship hall in a church, but just a little bit nicer. A funeral reception. This was pretty similar to the wedding, but there were more tables and photos were displayed on a white screen on the stage. It was a nice place considering the setting, but it felt really really spacious for an already chilling event. I think, at this point, it was really too big. The Orchid Show. This was the best of them all! The entire interior was FILLED with beautiful orchids! It was truly a Garden Club. I love orchids and the setting was perfect. The spacious room was exactly right for the amount of flowers needing to be housed, and leaving adequate space for people to roam around and make purchases.All in all, this is a really pretty building that can be used for a number of different kinds of events. It has great location [in Riverside], beautiful outside and a spacious ballroom. If you are looking for a place to host an upcoming event, I would definitely put this place on the list.

The Garden Club is an absolutely Beautiful Venue. We had our Daughters wedding there on Labor Day. The interior is elegant with chandeliers. The stage was killer for the DJ and music set up. Had wedding in the Garden Area which is on the water. We had a nice Breeze all day. They had a large kitchen area for the caterer. They allow outside food and alcohol which most venues did not. Easy setup for sound. The A/C kept the whole place very cool. Staff was easy to work with and very helpful and courteous. Could never have picked a better venue. Numerous Guest said it was best wedding they had attended. We had 200 Guest and plenty of room to spare.

The Garden Club is a wonderful venue. The main hall is spacious and beautiful. The location is right next to the river and garden in the back is also quite lovely. There is a large kitchen area for caterers to setup, and lots of parking. However there is a dark side to the Garden Club. The head maintenance man is unagreeable, he is rude and angry. Even after I was told, I had permission to use their audio system. He attacked me for touching it. This has happened to me twice there. I'm really unhappy with the way I was treated. The head maintenance mans way of handling things was to say " I don't care what the front office told you" and "I run this place" and "no one is aloud in there". So if you decide to use the Garden Club. Bring your own audio equipment, there's isn't all that good anyway.

Great place for the fami

As expected a beautiful venue, but most of you like me will feel like you are involved in a bait and switch. The place has more upcharges than an airline. A four hour time slot is simply that. When the clock starts that's when you set up, and you better be all down before the 4th hour hits. Cost are $400 per hour if you're not ready.

Yelp removed my previous review. Horrible business. Helped coordinate a wedding here and this was the experience. Had a wedding here and the staff at the garden club are beyond terrible and rude! Unwilling to help or answer any questions needed while they were on site. They were sitting in their office with the open sign on the door and rudely stated they were closed and couldn't answer any questions. The bride and groom needed a small table for their ceremony and all they received was unprofessionalism. Would recommend finding a different venue for your wedding if you want good customer service.
