Funky Pelican

Apart from the delay of having our order taken since no server was assigned our table at first, our experience was great at the Funky Pelican where we enjoyed delicious eats with the Atlantic Ocean and Flagler Beach as our backdrop. For my money, the twisted shrimp is grand and a huge portion, which you could either share with one to three people or just have for your meal. The garlic parmesan cream sauce was absolutely magical and creamy. That went well with fried-to-perfection shrimp that were well-sized and crispy. Due to the twisted shrimp, I could have gone without the Grilled Cheddar with bacon and a side of cheddar grits. However, I didn't anticipate the portion size of the latter, so I opted to devour the former, which both were incredibly tasty. I took The shrimp I didn't eat for leftovers and reheated it in the toaster oven for dinner the next day, which turned out just as tasty as when I initially received the order from the kitchen. The grilled cheddar was delicious on thick-cut bread with beautiful strips of bacon. The cheddar grits were incredibly satisfying as I didn't feel like ordering fries, which originally came with the meal, but I substituted them. I love the hot sauce caddie, where I sampled multiple bottles of hot sauces with my cheddar grits. It was magical--very magical. You have to ask for the hot sauce, which then you will realize they give you options. As the saying goes, variety is the spice of life. The cool coral reef-colored dining area was comfortable and relaxing as we ate our meal. The server, who ultimately served us after we waited a few minutes, was prompt and had our drinks and meals over fast. And if you want a good cocktail, you can't go wrong with the bourbon-forward Millions of Peaches, which also contains peach puree, pineapple juice, lime, and peach schnapps.

Still going strong in their offerings of great food and drinks. Can't go wrong with their spicy Bloody Mary for my favorite cocktail. Everything we've ever ordered here is delicious and expertly prepared. Staff from greeters and hosts to wait staff is always friendly for a true southern experience. Can't beat the beach, ocean, and pier views either. No matter what you order, you'll be very satisfied!

Stopped here for lunch on a busy Friday, but we were seated right away. Calamari, perfectly done, and a side of fries made for a delicious lunch. My companion chose the Reuben, also very good.It was a chilly afternoon for outdoor dining, but the sight and sound of the ocean made it well worth it. Very good service too, considering that it was so busy. A very enjoyable dining experience.

Food was tasty with some great seafood options. We sat at the bar outside facing the beach which had excellent service and amazing beach vibes. This place is busy and fun and has an iconic beach location.

Funky Pelican is a fantastic seafood restaurant right on the ocean, offering stunning views from every seat in the house. You can even dine outside for a true coastal experience. The menu is packed with fresh seafood favorites--fish, shrimp, and everything in between. Whether you're craving a casual bite or a full seafood feast, this spot has it all, I stop everytime im in the flaggler area!

While on a quick family trip we had lunch at the Funky pelican. This was a nice light meal that kept us going during our beach day. The boys ordered the burgers and i had the salmon Caesar salad. Everything tasted fresh and the food came out super quick. The place is your basic beachside restaurant, they do have an outside seating option too.

Such a beautiful day today my husband and I decided to go to Funky Pelican for late lunch/early dinner. We were immediately seated outdoors, our server Raymond greeted us and took our drink order which was house margaritas on the rocks/w salt. When he brought our drinks we placed our food order. My husband ordered the combo plate, Cajun style shrimp and fish with fries and coleslaw. I ordered the fried shrimp w/ fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. The drinks were delicious and my shrimp was very plump and juicy with great coating, very crispy. My husband said his was very tasty too. If I have a complaint it would be that the server could have checked in a time or 2, I might have ordered another drink but otherwise very good food.

Pretty good food. Nice to sit on the porch. Quick service. Nicely cooked. Annoying birds on porch.

The Funky Pelican! You can't miss it. It's located right on Flagler's "main st" area, near the pier. It's right in the center of the action. It also says "Flagler Beach" in huge letters on the roof. We got takeout and it was a little hard to find parking. It was a week day yet the area was busy. All of the street parking was taken up so I found parking on a side street and walked over. The food was ready promptly and the staff was very friendly. Now to the important part, the food. Delicious! I had this divine Cajun fish sandwich. I was feeling like a fish sandwich to go along with the beachy vibes. It smelled amazing and tasted amazing too. I added some tarter sauce and that put it over the top. Yum! Plus did I mention the gluten free buns? Perfection. My husband had a double cheeseburger and he enjoyed that as well. Would return and recommend! It's the perfect place for a bite!

Great experience! It was a bit windy so we sat inside and enjoyed watching the waves covered in moonlight. Server was great. Fish combo - delicious. Caesar salad on par. We will be back!
