Decided to try this spot on a whim when visiting family nearby. There are only 3 tables inside and 1/3 of the restaurant appeared to serve as storage. This included the sushi bar where a large quantity of to go shrimp sauce servings were being prepared. This led me to believe that this restaurant is more popular for to go vs dine-in. My mother ordered the clear soup and a California Roll. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a Philadelphia roll. Everything was just ok, lacked any real flavor including the rice. I realize we ordered simple rolls but I've eaten the same rolls at many other places that still managed to make them taste flavorful and fresh. Maybe sushi just isn't their best offering here.

I love this place! I come every time i'm within 30 min as I travel for work. This is my favorite place in any town and worth the travel. Stefani is the kindest, hardest working person and she is the heart and backbone of Fujiyama. The food is phenomenal, their shrimp sauce is the best and their clear soup made me believe in clear soup again. I've always been a salad person and they've converted me. Their portions are hefty and count towards arm day. You'll want to go back the same week after trying her food

Service was great. I ordered takeout, food was fast. Shrimp tempura roll was not good. The shrimp was not fresh. The volcano roll said baked...it was not baked. It came with 2 tiny pieces of conch. Miso soup was very salty. I definitely do not recommend and will not be back.

I live in the Arlington area and I grown to love this area. They are many restaurants around and some I don't even know exist until I drive by. isn't it funny to live in an area and drive by several things and not even noticed that they exist until you ready to try something new and you start looking around. And then you start discovering there are several restaurants around you, that you drive by all the time and even went shopping on the plaza that they are located at but never noticed that they are there. Well, this restaurant is one of them in my case. Food I haven't tried all their food yet, so I really can't come out all of them. However, I did take a menu home to study it just to know what they offer.First time I wanted to eat something different and Chinese food is one of my favorite dish. However, I did not want to go to the usual spots that I usually go to. I wanted to try something different. I end up at the neighborhood Walmart and noticed that this restaurant was there. I decided to order some rice and a soup. Warning the rice had a great flavor. The only problem is I'm not sure why they gave me a very old rice that was re-cooked and it was very oily. It was not what I expected. I believe they cook brown rice, which is a good thing. I couldn't tell if it was really brown rice or not since they re-cooked it and it looks like it was old rice maybe cooked several days ago. As a culinary student, it may have been two days ago. Final one out of 10 I would definitely give them a try again because they have a couple of items on their menu that I'm looking forward to try but hopefully that I have a better experience with the Food. Enjoying local business around my area they were definitely my business again. However, the food better be better if not, they won't see me again.. but I'm sure they won't care either way. There's plenty others that goes there. make sure when you order your food that you let them know that you want fresh rice maybe that may help I should've taken a picture of the food but I didn't think about it. Besides, I threw the rice away anyways the rice was a mess and unfresh.

This is kinda interesting; so my mom dropped the bomb that she decided the owners weren't Japanese just from reading the name, "Fuji Yama." Ya....be. Isn't that kinda bad?Anyways, I agreed. Lol. Let me explain. While Fuji is a generic name, and it's written in letters, there's more to it than that. First, I can't recall ever hearing someone Japanese say Fujiyama. Usually, it's Fuji-san...or even just Fuji on a sign. Or if you do use "yama" and letters. I believe you usually write it as one word "Fujiyama." Writing it as "Fuji Yama" seems weird. I don't have a lot of thoughts on the food itself. It's just another generically decent sushi place. Nothing really stands out about it. The teapot with the flowers on it is cute. We ordered 3 rolls of sushi, and they plated them together in an aesthetic pattern. Eel is always good. The clear soup was nice enough. The pictures of the hibachi don't look very good.

I would not recommend, the sushi rice was dry. The hibachi meat was very over cooked. Egg rolls are below average. The edamame was good, and the hibachi vegetables were good. The price is definitely not worth the food.

The food was absolutely terrible me and my friend ordered dynamite Rolls They were hard , soggy and falling apart Very distasteful. We called up here to tell them how horrible the food was and the lady on the phone said and I quote " oh I'm so sorry for you" As a business it is your job to make sure that we the customer is satisfied. We should have been offered a refund or even a fresh batch ! All she had to say was that she was sorry for us , there's no remorse in that. We will never spend our money here again Absolute disgrace. Poor customer service. Shame on you.

We tried this place for lunch while passing through Jacksonville. It got good reviews but after dining there we wondered why. We ordered a beef teriyaki bento box and a filet minion and shrimp hibachi lunch entree. Both came with a small salad (mostly cut up iceberg lettuce) and a small bowl of soup (clear broth with a few sliced mushrooms). The bento box came with some veggies (mostly squash and onions), fried rice (rice warmed up with some soy sauce mixed in), gyoza (deep fried instead of pan fried as would be the case in Japan), a California roll and beef that was covered in a tomato teriyaki sauce . The filet minion was very tender but cool to the touch. The shrimp were good as were the grilled onions, squash and few pieces of broccoli. Both dishes were served with a small bowl of "yum-yum" sauce (some sort of mayonnaise-based dipping sauce). Overall, we didn't think the meals were anything to write home about (or in this case to warrant a higher rating). We'll try another place on our next swing through Jacksonville. In fairness to the restaurant, it bills itself as a steak and sushi place. Aside from the California roll, we didn't try their sushi dishes. Also, better than half the restaurant is set up with traditional hibachi cooking tables where the chef cooks right in front of you. These weren't open for lunch so the meals prepared table side by a chef may be far superior to what we were served out of the kitchen. And as I've already stated, the filet minion and shrimp were both tasty.

We have celebrated many birthdays at this restaurant for many many years. This year things were very, very disappointing. I don't want to get into a lot of details, but what I will say is the service was not at all where it should. The person who took her order somehow did not communicate with our hibachi fellow. The hibachi Chef was very disappointing. Not fun at all. When the waiter made a mistake, what I believe was, the manager came up and was kind of condescending and acting like his mistake was our fault.
